IRISH SKC MAY 19 Judge(s): MRS W BOWER DCC SAREDON CITIZEN SMITH (J & A AVERIS & BARKER) IRISH JUDGE SKC MAY 19 Thank you to my two stewards who kept everything running smoothly. 1. Averis & Barker’s Saredon Citizen Smith – nice overall balance with a racy outline, straight front, shoulders well laid back with a good reach of neck, strong back and hindquarters. Correct head proportions, well placed ears and dark eye giving that typical expression. Tail on top. Excellent coat and presentation. Moved out well. He is top size for his age and does not need to grow on. He displayed the characteristics I like to see in the breed and I was pleased to award him BP, CC & BOB and to see him make the final cut in the Group. 2. Bamsey’s Holbam Celtic Wizard – just touching 12 months and of correct size. Showing a good outline but would prefer a little more substance. Nicely placed ears and pleasing expression. A little short of coat on the day but otherwise well presented. Moved okay but would like to have seen him more settled. Two nice dogs and both worthy Champions. 1. Thomas’s Ch Lead The Way To Montelle – well balanced, racy but with plenty of substance and of nice size. Shoulders well laid back, good reach of neck, straight front and strong hindquarters with tail well set on. Pleasing head, small dark eye, well placed ears giving the typical expression so important in this breed. Shown in excellent coat. Moved well. Close call in the challenge – just preferred the overall picture of the younger dog RCC 1. Bamsey’s Carliams Witching Hour – a real baby at just over 6 months old with a lot of growing up to do. She has a pleasing outline, straight front with small compact feet. Small dark eye but her ears need to settle. Short of coat but otherwise well presented. Needs more ring training. 1. Seabridge’s Sujoncla Lola Creek – presented a racy outline but with substance. Straight front, well laid back shoulder and strong hindquarters. Moved out very well. Correct head proportions. Shown in good coat and well presented. 2. Redman’s Holbam Celtic Little Minx – still a puppy and lacked the maturity of the winner. Of nice size but would prefer a better top line, ears set well on the head. She did not help her handler which detracted from the overall picture. 1. Cooke’s Royal Lady At Montelle – feminine bitch of correct size. Presents a racy outline but with plenty of substance and bone. Correct head proportions with well-placed ears and dark eye giving that typical expression. Straight front, shoulders well laid back, good top line and tail on top. Well presented with correct coat. Moved well. Full of herself and for me a typical Irish – loved her. In the challenge she did not have quite the maturity of the CC winner but pleased to award her the RCC 2. Hardman’s Bonosue Red Tess – nice size and substance. A little short in body – should be moderately long. Straight well boned legs in front, good reach of neck, well placed ears but just preferred the head of 1. Good coat and colour, moved okay. Three very nice bitches who were presented to a very high standard. They could all change places another time and I am sure they will. 1. Pratts’ Saredon Leading Lady Of Terrijay – a feminine bitch, balanced and presenting a racy outline but with substance and good bone. Correct size and in good coat. Correct head and ears set well on with typical expression. Straight front with good reach of neck leading into well laid back shoulders. Strong back and tail well set on. Moved and showed well. Pleased to award her the CC. 2. Averis & Barker Cherry Zest At Saredon – another feminine bitch with good bone and substance. Did not have the racy outline of 1 but a nice size. Correct front, neck of good length leading into well laid back shoulders. Preferred the head of my winner. 3.Howarth & Looker’s Kells Hot Tempest. Judge Wendy Bower
