IRISH SKC AUGUST 10 Judge(s) MRS Z THORN-ANDREWS DCC COURTINGTON KASSEL (MR I HEMMINGS) Irish Terriers JD (1) 1 Cook’s Montelle Ringmaster at Terrahawk, lovely headed puppy, ears need to settle as yet. Super body & harsh crisp coat, excellent quarters used well. Picks his front legs up a trifle high on the move. BP. PGD (1) 1 Hardman’s Spanwise Vermillion, eyes nicely set, good expression & pigment, strong neck, a bit straight in shoulders. Good legs & moderately small feet, racy body. Slopes off too much in topline & movement needs to settle. Nicely muscled & a good coat. LD (4) 1 Gummow’s Montelle Viscount Erhard, smart & sound workmanlike dog, pleasing lean skull & ears set nicely, good front & body, well set on tail, ideal topline, moderate bend of stifle, excellent coat & presentation; RCC; 2 Atwell’s Montelle Mr Sandman at Xanwil, moved well, just a mite too narrow across the chest. Racy body, good topline & slight arch over croup, super quarters. Not quite the backskull of 1, but a nice quality terrier; 3 Nevill’s Montelle Lord Montague. OD (2) 1 Hemming’s Courtington Kassel, really classic ‘all male’, good skull & eye placement, broad strong jaws, neat ears, excellent neck into well laid back shoulders & fine at the withers, nice to see a decent amount of leg hair, perfect topline, powerful impressive rear & an active, free mover in immaculate condition. CC & BOB; 2 Hardman’s Drumbilla Diablo amidst Bonosue, just could not get himself together on the move. So nice in front construction & correct body, not over-ribbed or flat, appealed for head & earset. Looked a picture standing, but was quite frankly all over the place moving. JB (3) 1 Atwell’s Xanwil Mystical Girl, flies her ears as yet. Good mouth, OK in angles, but a little wide at the top of the shoulder blades. Good coat, lacks leg hair which no doubt will come. Reasonable mover; 2 Gummow’s Pinleygreen Mustard Seed, looked good standing & has a good outline. Mouth a little off with bottom incisors. Rather straight in shoulder & very narrow moving. I’m sure when mature she will improve as she has the bone, body, coat & shape to fulfil her promise, but was judging on the day & she frankly did not deserved to win here. PGB (2) 1 Hardman’s Bonosue Snow Storm, not the head of 2 & ears could be better. Sound & active, holds her outline well, excellent topline & moderate rear angulation, harsh crisp coat, well muscled; 2 Nevill’s Courting Elena at Rosemonelle, lovely head, ears set a little too high on skull. Longish neck, a little long in loin. Excellent pigment & well presented harsh coat. LB (1) 1 Hardman’s Bonosue Plaything for Spanwise, tail was a little here & there. Ok in head & eyes, neat ears, good front & correct width across the front. Topline could be more level. Super coat, nicely boned. Reasonable mover, if a little erratic. OB (4) 1 Hemming’s Courtington Karina, smart bitch, well handled & very sound, liked her head & neck, good front, true mover, nicely made body, moderately bent stifles & so well muscled, good length of second thigh, well coated & nice for size. CC; 2 Barker & Averis’ Ch Drumbilla Misty Lady, looked good standing, but was side-winding moving & never went in a straight line. Dips in back a touch, beautiful head & lovely black pigment, including lips, good coat & colour, won RCC on her good type; 3 Hardman’s Bonosue Plaything for Spanwise. |
