Irish Terriers

A breed I have been associated with since my early teens. Having been brought up in the famous old school of Nora Woodifield of Pathfinders fame. Still one of the unspoilt breeds, shown naturally in their harsh correctly hand trimmed jackets. Although a small entry it was of the highest quality. My main winners all coming from the same kennel, I was impressed also by the handling of a long loose lead. It was good to see hardly any ‘topping & tailing’ always a joy to see a show dog being shown naturally.

JD (3)

1 BP & RCC, Seabridge’s Sujoncla Pokanoket, grand puppy, well balanced, lovely quality, firm moving for one so young, well presented;

2 Hemmings’s Courtington Kassel, not so forward, time on the side of good stamp, can finish well;

3 Gruttner’s Montelle Viscount Erhard.

PGD (0).

LD (3)

1 Atwell’s Montelle Mr Sandman at Xanwil, has the quality & type, rather fine all through, moving well;

2 Stahle & Nichols’ Shallcome’s Murchadh, all male, close up for type, needs to tighten in shoulder;

3 Cooke’s Lionwood Rowanberry.

OD (2)

1 CC, BOB & G4, Seabridge’s Kerrykeel Wounded Knee at Sujoncla, so typical, well made & presented, correct jacket, sound firm moving, shown on a loose lead;

2 Gruttner’s Ch Kilcavan Oberon at Montelle, quality stamp, soft in topline, could be more positive in front action.

JB (1)

1 RCC, Hemming’s Courtington Karina, one for the future, smart, typy, excellent jacket, moving well.

PGB (2)

1 Dunseith’s Kerrykeel Caoimhe at Hoohah, has the type, full of quality, coat texture good. In between coats, but not at best;

3 Ferguson’s Parkdyke Country Ledgend.

LB (2,1)

1 Gruttner’s Montelle Star Of The Ring, will have a better day as she has the type & excellent coat, never really settled on the move.

OB (2)

1 CC, Seabridge’s Sujoncla Tecumseh, another from this kennel who filled the eye, out the top drawer, completes the picture with her excellent movement & presentation;

2 Longman’s Marshcourt Good Time Gal at Kilcavan, smaller build of good type, not extending so well on the move.
