IRISH NATIONAL TERRIER 10 Judge/s:Philip J Greenway (Rayfos) IRISH JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 10 Irish Terriers I thought there could have been more “derring do” on display. Temperament needs attention, I know it’s a PC world, but sheer joy of living would suffice. MPD 1 Bissett’s Kerrykeel Enda, well balanced, good neck, topline, angulation & coat, moved soundly, good head & ear placement. Would like a flatter skull. Raw, but was confident for age. PD 1 Seabridge’s Sujoncla Bear Tooth, 11 months, well forward for age, good opinion of himself. Looks set to go all the way, good profile, head, ears, neck, topline, set on, angulation & substance, makes a complete whole, thoroughly well balanced, moved soundly, coat was an advantage in winning BP; 2 K Enda. JD 1 Bradley’s Montelle Viscount Erhard, shapely, very good head & ears, nice neck, good topline, set on, substance & angulation, coat in good order. Moved a little loosely in front. Good profile & rear action; 2 Bamsey’s Holbam Winslow King, well balanced, good head. Not as clean in skull. Good neck, topline & set on. Would like more length of upper arm. Strong well developed rear, moved soundly. ND (0). PGD 1 M Viscount Erhard. LD 1 Seabridge’s Sujoncla Pokanoket, a good outline, pleasing neck, topline, set on & angulation, good head, ears & outlook, good jacket; 2 Pratt’s Terrijay Special Brew, well balanced, good head structure, nice neck, topline, & set on. Not quite the shoulder angulation of 1. Strong well developed rear, moved soundly; 3 Hemmings’ Courtington Kassel. OD Difficult decision, the major virtues of both dogs were opposites in many ways. 1 Ruhl’s Darren Von der Emsmuehle, rock hard, the best articulation by far, moved absolutely true & strode over the ground in profile, super feet & pasterns & the attitude of a true stallion, good head & ears, nice neck, good topline & underline, the best of set ons, balanced angulation & the best of jackets. CC; 2 Seabridge’s Kerrykeel Wounded Knee at Sujoncla, lovely type, very good head, ears & outlook, reachy neck, good topline, set on & angulation, moved soundly all round, in good coat. RCC. MPB 1 Devine’s Kerrykeel Norah, compact, good topline, neck. Set on could be a little higher. In good coat, quality head & ears, moved true, enjoyed the experience. PB 1 Bradley’s Pinelygreen Mustardseed, came in the ring with every intention of enjoying herself, go anywhere, do anything, excellent profile, arched elegant neck, good topline, set on & angulation. A little loose in front. Strong positive rear, moved with intent & covered the ground, good head, ears & outlook. Coat needs work; 2 Anderson’s Kerrykeel Noleen, very good head. Needs to use her ears. Pleasing neck, topline & angulation. Set on could be better. Sound & well balanced with quality; 3 Nichols & Stahle’s Shallcombe Cassandra. JB 1 Boyle’s Montelle Moya, spectacular outline, elegant neck, good topline & set on, pleasing angulation, firm articulation, moved well. Good head, spoilt by wayward ears. NB 1 P Mustardseed; 2 M Moya. PGB 1 Tritton’s Ailington Too Hot To Handle, gave her a lot of thinking about for the RCC, rather liked her, pleasing balanced profile, good neck, topline, set on, reasonable angulation, moved soundly all round, very good head, ears & outlook; 2 Grant’s Ticknock Tamarind Breeze, quite a picture posed, let down by rear action. Very good head, ears & expression, good neck, topline, but et on could be better. Good coat & angulation, pleasing front action; 3 M Moya. LB 1 Hemmings’ Courtington Karina, quality bitch, good outline, very good head, ears & expression, liked her neck, topline, set on, reasonable angulation, firm articulation, good feet & pasterns, good coat, moved well. In the challenge the wheels came off; 2 Ruffles’ Ruffmar Bronzed Ballerina, close up, very good head, ears & outlook, pleasing neck, topline, set on & angulation, good coat & sound movement. Would not give that little extra in the final analysis; 3 Wooding’s Sujoncla White Horse. OB 1 Barker & Averis’ Drumbilla Misty Lady, the real deal, spirit with lovely proportions, simply flowed end to end & moved to match. Very good head, ears, expression, elegant neck, good topline, set on, well angulated, great jacket, nice size, a real star. CC & BOB; 2 Blower’s Saredon Ruby Red of Turith, lovely head, ears & expression, nicely balanced, good neck, topline, set on, reasonable angulation, firmly articulated, in good coat. RCC; 3 Bamsey’s Holbam Tierney. |
