Wire Fox Terriers

PD (1)

1 Everard’s Stagwire Dixie Dean, good length of head which is clean & flat. Nice eye & ear placement portraying a typical expression. Elegant neck into well placed shoulders, straight well boned front, level topline, good tailset & nicely angulated quarters. At 6 months he is big enough & his coat is not at its best yet as you would expect for a puppy. Moved soundly but erratic at times which should not be penalised for one so young. BP.

JD & PGD (0).

LD (2)

1 Nixon’s Willowyre Wings Of Steel, typical head & expression, clean neck into a good front assembly, ribs carried well back to a short loin, level topline & a good set-on. Excellent quarters which are correctly angulated & well muscled. Moved soundly both fore & aft & presented in great order. Close decision for the RCC;

2 Demunter’s Noble Knight van Foliny Home, clean masculine head with typical eyes & ear placement, well laid back shoulders, level topline & nicely angulated quarters & moved soundly both ways. He is not as short coupled or balanced as the winner.

OD (3,1a)

1 Malzoni’s Am Ch Hampton Courts Machida, outstanding dog when viewed from any angle as he is typical, a nice size & balanced. Lovely head pattern which is flat, clean & of a good length with well placed eyes & ears which he uses to give a typical expression. Clean lengthy neck flows into well laid back shoulders with the correct angulations in his front assembly. He has a level topline with a well set tail & a super rib which is well carried back to a short loin. His quarters are well angulated with well developed muscletone & his movement is faultless as he moves true both fore & aft & covers the ground effortlessly when viewed from side profile. His talented handler not only presents him to the minute but also has him extremely well schooled that he never puts a foot wrong & seems to enjoy showing. He could not be denied the CC & BOB;

2 Schoneberg & Wiggin’s Nethertonian Optimist, this dog has the most beautiful head which is long, flat & clean with nicely placed eyes & ears. Good length of neck into well placed shoulders, straight well boned forelegs & good feet. Level topline & a well set tail & quarters which are nicely angulated. He moved soundly both ways but not quite as compact as the winner. RCC.

VD (1)

1 Coutts’ Ir Ch Brocolitia Talk Of The North, decent head, eye & ear & has retained his dentition. Nice length of neck into a good front assembly, short coupled with a good tailset & quarters. Moved well & presented in great order which is a credit to his owner.

PB (2,1)

1 Everards’ Stagwire Serendipity, clean feminine head with a nice expression, clean front with well angulated shoulders. Level topline with a good set-on & quarters which are nicely angulated. Typical baby who had her mind on other things & with time & training she may settle to the job.

JB (3)

1 Hunt’s Dominus Demeter, elegant bitch of a nice size who has a clean head of a good length with correctly set eyes & ears giving a true expression. Reachy clean neck into nicely angulated shoulders, straight front & good feet. Level topline, with a good tailset & nicely ribbed back to a short loin. Presented in super condition & moved true behind;

2 Maugham’s Brocolitia Simply Shining, typical head, eye & ear attributing to a true expression. Well laid back shoulders, level topline & nicely angulated quarters. Moved soundly both ways but she appears a little short on her forelegs & is not as balanced as the winner;

3 Everards’ Praenobilis Fire And Ice at Stagwire.

PGB (2)

1 Robinson’s Willowyre Whyte Lace from Belgia, her head is of a good length but could be cleaner in skull, nice eyes & ears. Good length of neck into a good front assembly which is well boned. Level topline, well developed quarters & was presented in good order. I would prefer her a shade smaller & shorter coupled;

2 Grant, McLhinney & Hall’s Granddach Dazzling, smaller bitch than winner who appears short on leg & long cast. Lovely quarters which are well angulated & well muscled.

LB (4,1)

1 Vickers’ Eskwyre Steel Magnolias, this is my type of bitch as she is of a nice size, typical, refined & well balanced. Beautiful long clean head with well placed eyes & ears which she uses giving a true expression. Clean reachy neck into a textbook front assembly as her shoulders are well laid back with the desired ratio & angulation of upper arm into straight well boned forelegs. Level topline with a good set-on & ribs which are well carried back to a short loin. Her quarters match her front assembly in being superbly angulated & conditioned in muscletone. Moved true both ways & covered the ground with the desired footfall when viewed from side profile. Presented in great order, CC. I loved her;

2 Griffiths’ Grace Kelly at Starland, smaller pretty bitch who has a good head, eyes & ears. Not the quality or soundness in movement as the winner;

3 Coutts’ Burrencroft Wild At Heart.

OB (3)

This was the strongest class of the day as it contained a trio of quality bitches.

1 Allen’s Travella Sonata, quality bitch who has a clean feminine head of good proportions with nicely placed eyes & ears. Excellent front angulations, level topline & short coupled. Strong well developed quarters which are nicely angulated. Moved true both ways & presented in first class condition & handled expertly as we would expect from this handler. RCC;

2 Schonberg’s Xtra VD Schonen Bergen, lovely head which is refined & of a good length, good front with well laid back shoulders, quality bone & substance & a well set tail. Nicely angulated quarters & moved soundly both ways. She is a quality bitch but does not have the level topline of the winner;

3 Wilkinson’s Benfreya Lady Of Steel.
