FOX WIRE JUDGE SKC MAY 13

Wire Fox Terriers

PD (1)

1 Maughan’s Brocolitia Masquarade, good size, lean & long in head. One eye half closed – looked like a ‘wind’ problem in the cold! OK in front, good topline, short back, well made quarters. Moves too wide in rear. Good coat coming, but obviously not quite ready yet. Promising. BP.

JD (2)

1 Mayo’s Clydachs Silver Shadow, very elegant outline with lengthy head, neck & short back. Rangy still of course, but promising quality & certainly when he gets himself together he can really move out well with reach & drive. Harsh coat, good bone & feet & overall nicely proportioned;

2 Robinson’s Belgica Regulus, a little too short in foreface & not the elegant neckline of 1. Lovely body, hard topline, good behind, wide across loin & croup, good youngster moving well.

LD (3)

1 De Munter & Uiterwijk’s King Arthur van Foliny Home, too much coat products on this one I could hardly get my hands through onto his legs! Stunning dog right through, moved to match his build, excellent head & foreface, good front, body & rear, moved well all round;

2 Coutts’ Crovolita Talk O The North, solid & sturdy, good length of foreface, sound legs & feet, deep chest, fair quarters, he did move true both ways, very hard jacket. Just not the quality of 1;

3 Grant’s Travella Shaped Edge of Granddach.

OD (4)

Two super Wires!

1 Browne-Cole’s Travella Striking Steel, full of quality & has that air of a top dog! I admired his head, broad jaws, excellent front, good legs & feet, well bodied with short strong loin, impressive ring presence, super mover in all directions. CC, BOB, G1 & BIS;

2 Goodsell’s Ch Blackdale Supreme, strong & well conditioned, full of muscle, pleasing head & perfect earset & carriage. Not quite the front & shoulder of 1. Well developed body, firm back, good rear & excellent coat & body condition, moved true & has drive in rear. Another top dog. RCC.

PB (3)

1 Maughan’s Brocolitia Code Mistress, nice quality puppy, neat ears, well set in eyes, OK in front, good bone for size. A tough slack in topline as yet, but it should tighten OK. Super rear, tailset well, true precise mover;

2 Griffiths’ Brocolitia Grace Kelly, neat girl, but falls away in backskull. Ears set well up. Front could be better. Super body & rear, hard coat, well presented & handled.

JB (1)

1 Withheld canine tooth running up inside jaw.

PGB (1)

1 Lockett & Kasuya’s Saredon Even In Dreams, nice bitch, a bit light in bone for size. OK in head length. Needs a little more in front, but she moves true. Well ribbed back, good quarters, tail set well. Presentation not quite top class, feet stained.

LB (2)

1 Robinson’s Ghyllmoire Copyright at Belgica, strong girl, looks like a hunting type, very firm in body & muscletone, good head, well set eyes & varmint expression. Needs a little more neck length fore extra elegance. Well ribbed, level topline, excelled rear, hard coat, moving well.

OB (7)

One hell of a class! Five really top class bitches I felt very privileged to judge.

1 Schoneberg’s Irvonhill Poinsetta, feminine yet strong, good in head, ears & neck, stands on firm legs & feet, short strong back, powerful rear, moved out superbly. CC;

2 Magill’s Burrencroft She’s A Hit at Grambrae, beautiful bitch, strong & workmanlike. A mite more open at the shoulder blades than 1. Super topline, excellent quarters & tailset, well presented & handled, another grand mover. RCC;

3 O’Donoghue’s Ir Ch Blackdale Julie.
