FOX WIRE JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 19

I enjoyed judging this better than average numerical entry as is to be expected at the leading Terrier show. My main winners were of an excellent standard. A few exhibits appeared a somewhat troubled by the noise in the hall and rattle of the manhole cover in the ring. Unusually for Wires a couple of exhibits could have carried less weight.

SB (3,1)

1 Hampton & Wynter's Robelroy Many Dreams at Furlongfox. Promising young dog. Nice balanced outline. Lean Head, well proportioned. Good lay of shoulder. Level topline Strong hindquarters. Moved well. Well presented.

2 Dawson's Kensteen Miss on Your Toes Quite a large bitch with plenty of substance and bone. Good set on of tail with plenty of 'bottom' visible behind the set on of tail suggesting correct hindquarter angulation. Preferred winner's shoulders and she could perhaps carry a little less weight

MPD (1)

1 Everard's Stagwire James Dean. Nice type. Attractive head with keen expression and neat, well-carried ears. Moving better in front
than behind.

PGD (4,1)

1 R. Many Dreams at F,

2 Liston's Brocolitia Showdown. Alert. Nice head and eye. Good topline. Moved with drive. 3 Harding's Hardirosella Heartthrob

LD (2)

1 Adshead's Shoalhill Too Hot to Handle. Well-proportioned showing good balance. Pleasing head and expression. Short coupled More positive in movement than second.

2 Dipple's Marvidyne Follow the Trend. Larger dog. Longer in body than winner and less positive in movement.

OD (7,1)

1 Wurtzburg's Blackdale Buccaneer of Russmews. Won this excellent class on overall balanced construction. Pleasing head with alert expression with typical well-placed and correct- sized eye. Neat ears. Neck merges into well-laid shoulders. Short-coupled. Well-muscled hindquarters. Moved steadily covering ground with ease. Not perhaps as eye-catching from a distance as some today but very soundly constructed and in no way exaggerated. Dog CC and BOB.

2 Malzoni & Browne-Coles Ch Travella Laketrix Set to Strike. Another excellent dog. A real extrovert. Typical keen expression. Good topline. Short coupled. Strong hindquarters. Moved with drive but not as steady as winner when moving.

3 Schonberg's Quirinius v Waldhaus

V (1) 1

1 Harding's Beekay Bellissima at Hardirosella. Nine-year old bitch. In excellent condition for her age. Her teeth are as good as any of the younger exhibits.

PB (2,0)
1 Barratt's Tyquin Polar Ice. Numerically small class but two very promising puppies. Winner has all the required attributes - pleasing head, eye and expression, Good length of neck merging into well-laid shoulders, Strong hindquarters. Moved well. Best puppy.

2 Averis & Barker's Saredon Seduced. Similar type to winner. Much less mature and still lacking furnishings but one for the future.

JB (4)

1 Panattoni's Scallywag Zesty Orange. Won a close decision on overall balance and head. Nice typical outline. Short coupled. Good topline.

2 Connell's Eskwyre Jenny the Brave. Another promising youngster. Again, good proportions. Strong, well- muscled hindquarters.

3 Holt's Selvina Go Go Gloria

PGB (6)

1 Ebdon's Stunning Luxe Jaime La Vie at Flashback (Imp)Stood out in this class. A very alert bitch with a keen expression. Neat ear and correctly sized and carried ears. Strong hindquarters moved well. Well-presented.

2 Watkin-Jone's Gilnivers Tully. Not the animation of the winner. Sound conformation. Moved ok. Presentation could perhaps be a little better.

3 Harding's Hardirosella Heart and Soul

LB (4,1)

1 Nixon's Willowyre Whyte Magic. Lovely bitch. Not the largest, but excellent proportions. Lean head with neat eye and well-carried ears. Preferred her shoulder and front movement to others in the class. Moved freely and soundly. More coat and furnishings will complete the picture.

2 De Munter & Utterwijk's Painted Smile Van Foliny Home A larger bitch with 'character'. Pleasing head and expression. Moved with drive. Good coat.

3 Murphy's Davwen Guinvere at Ruxlewyre

OB (6,1)

1 Westwood & Wiggins Ch Nethertonion Chandalier. Lovely bitch. Excellent head and expression. Neat ears. Good topline. Moved with reach and drive. Shown in superb condition. Bitch CC.

2 Lilley's Wyregait Cider with Rosie. Larger bitch. Well proportioned. Typical head and expression. Short-coupled. Took a while to settle when moving but then moved well. Res CC.

3 Calleja & Shembri's Ch Ivram Spot on.
