FOX WIRE JUDGE CRUFTS 24

To me there’s no better way to sign off my Wire Fox Terrier judging career than to judge the breed at the worlds Greatest Dog Show. Firstly I would like to thank the Exhibitors for their entry and allowing me to pass judgement on their dogs and secondly to my 2 efficient stewards.

VD (2)

1 Winning Colours at Duchmorn, Rice. 9 year old dog, looking smart and in super condition, has lots to like, he is good in overall make and shape, correct harsh coat that was well presented, moved with purpose and showed very well. Best Veteren.

2 Alkinra Wizard, Williams. Typical balanced outline, also in good form, moved freely and straight, not quite the showman of the winner.

PD (2,1)

1 Jour Après Jour Smooth Operator, Huikeshoven) a hound marked dog with pleasing outline, typical head andears, typical dark eye, good body proportions, correct tailset, moved freely.

JD (3,1)

1 Travella Shockwave, Davani. A promising young dog with quality, his head is long and lean, straight font and good bone, short back with level topline, correct tailset, shapely quarters, moved well in front, touch exaggerated in rear movement for me, requires a little more ring experience and confidedence, but only 14 mths so plenty of time.

2 Ashleyheath’s Lancaster, England, Sutcliffe and Sturgess. A hound marked dog of a larger frame, also owns a long head, ears a touch heavy, level topline, needs to develope in body, moved steadily.

PGD (1)

1 Alkinra Jazz It Up, Duesmann, Hughes and Ford) a heavily marked dog with typical outline, head of good length, nice neck and shoulders, moved well in front and with drive.

LD (4)

1 Ride The Wild Wind Foxhouse, Vall. An eyecatching dog with super outline, his head is clean and is of a good length, with well placed ears, dark eye which gives him a keen expression, fair reach of neck, well laid shoulders, short back, big spring of rib, good bone, legs and feet, correct tailset, shapely well made quarters which he uses on the move, harsh coat with excellent presentation, super showman. Reserve CC.

2 Alpha V D Schonenbergen, Schoneberg. Another dog with some quality, unlucky to meet the winner in his form, pleasing head and expression, good in make and shape, moved and showed well, in good coat and condition. 3 Ruxleywyre Magic Box, Mullane.

OD (10,3)

1 Ch Paperman Purple, Schoneberg. An impressive type of dog, looked outstanding in this class, strong and masculine but in noway course, I liked his head and expression, short and compact body, good round bone, plenty of rear angulation, strong quarters, presented in super coat and condition, he is a free easy mover with good stride, showed well, handled to advantage. CC

2 Ch Brocolitia Do It for Thy Sen, Maughan. A lighty marked dog of good type, typical of this kennel, long head with dark eye and correctly placed ears, squarely made in body, level topline, tail on top, moved freely.

3 Travella Kebulak Stingray, Davani.

Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dog (2)

1 Ch Robelroy Many Dreams at Furlongfox ShCEx, Wynter. A quality dog, one I have previously awarded a RCC, he is well put together with all the essentials, he moved soundly, presented in good form, showed well.

2 Selvina Indigo at Minervina, Doyle. Heavily marked dog of pleasing type, a touch bigger than one, typical in head & expression, level topline though I would prefer a touch shorter, moved freely. nicely presented.

VB (2)

1 Ch Willowyre Whyte Magic, Nixon. I gave this bitch a CC some years ago, so obviously I like her very much, she still retains quality and moved well with enthuiasm, lost out for Best Veteran on showmanship on the day.

2 Kiss Me Quick for Anstars,. North. A 9 year old bitch, typical head and expression, balanced in outline, I would prefer a touch more bone for her size, moved well.

PB (3)

1 Brocolitia Catch A Star, Maughan. Very feminine and appealing in outline, long head with a keen expression, pleasing in make and shape, moved straight once settled, showed well, obviously needs to mature but everything is in the right place and again very typical of this prefix, Best Puppy.

2 Brocolitia Sky in A Picture for Anstars, North. Litter sister to the winner and similar remarks apply, not quite as composed as one.

3 Ruxleywyre Diva, Murphy.

JB (7,1)

1 Jive von Der Bismarckquelle, Moehrke. A well presented hound marked bitch, plenty of ring presence with animation, correct harsh coat, pleasing head and expression, she has a straight front and with good bone, big spring of rib and level topline, correct straight parallel movement, showed really well.

2 Travella She’s On Fire, Davani. A lightly marked bitch with a touch of class, long head with small datk eye, neat ears, fair reach of neck, short compact body, shapely quarters, lost on rear movement and showmanship to the winner, given time and maturity I’ll feel certain she have a bright future.

3 Travella Steel A Kiss, Hampton.

LB (6,1)

1 Blackdale Show Queen, O’donoghue. A bitch of the highest quality, truly feminine in outline, long head, with a good dark eye, well placed ears which gives her a keen expression, fair reach of neck, well laid shoulders, short body with big spring of rib, strong quarters, moved freely, presented in great condition and to the highest standard, not always co-operating but when she did she looked quite stunning.moved freely and with drive, CC and Best of Breed

2 Chelines Torrija, Martinez Oses. A very well presented ginger and white bitch, that never stopped showing, scores in make and shape, classy head and expression, good harsh coat, full of life, moved true once settled.

3 Vixenview Tina, Harrison.
OB (9)

I can honestly say that this class was one of the best classes of Wire Fox Terriers that I have ever judged and even some of the ones which weren’t placed on other occassions could win a CC, it was that good!

1 Ch Nethertonion Severina, Wiggins and Westwood. A very impressive bitch, with balanced outline, beautiful head andexpression, good neck and shoulders, short back with level topline, muscled quarters, in good coat and condition, typical sound movement, showed really well. Reserve CC

2 Ch Template Uthopia, Vallerini. This hound marked bitch was just a shade heavier in make and shape than one, yet still feminine and with quality, well balanced, lovely to go over with a pleasing head, neck and front, well made in body, good rear angulation, well presented in harsh coat, stylish mover, handled and showed very well, a very close decision..

3 Travella Seductress, Davan.
