FOX SMOOTH THREE COUNTIES 11 Judge: Mrs A Thornton SMOOTH FOX JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 11 THREE COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW – 8Tth JUNE 2011 FOX TERRIERS (SMOOTH) Puppy dog (6: 1 abs) This was a very good class of puppies, all of whom, in my opinion, will do very well. 1. Thornton & Bebbington’s GLENDRATERRA FREDI MERCURY. Very high class black and white in sparkling condition. Lovely, long lean head with good ear placement, excels in reach of neck, level topline, good body, excellent bone, legs and feet, good quarters. He moved well enough but hope he learns to move with more drive. Reserve C.C. Delighted to see he was placed third in the Puppy Group too. 2. Feltham and Wilson’s CADELLINS ROMANCE. Another quality puppy, very well balanced with good head, ear and eye. Lovely body, very good bone, legs and feet, tail on top. Moved soundly. Promising. 3. Hall’s GOSEL EARL GREY. Junior Dog (No Entries) Post Graduate Dog (2) 1. Clark’s CHIPSTEAD CELLO. Strongly made dog with good bone, legs and feet. Good spring of rib, good quarters. Moved OK. Would prefer a leaner skull. 2. Johannessen-Adams’ TRELLWYFAN COAL. Well named heavily marked dog. Lacking in substance and he has a low set tail which does not help his movement. Limit Dog (6: 1) 1. Griffiths & Jones’ YOXELLA WHISTLE & FLUTE WITH DARLAUR. Imposing dog, nearly all white, with plenty of substance, excels in bone, legs and feet. Long lean head and correct ear placement. Good reach of neck, level topline and strong quarters. In good coat and condition and showed well. He is a sound mover but has a tendency to lean into his handler sometimes. C.C. & B.O.B. 2. Brookes’ MISCHIEF IN DISGUISE FOR ZETAMAX Sh.CM Well made, balanced, tan and white dog, in lovely coat and condition. Good head and ear, eye a little large, level topline, good body, sound mover. Showed steadily. 3. Horlock’s RANLOCK PORTMAN. 1. Broom’s BONZAI DE MALVAU (Imp). Well balanced dog making a nice outline, long lean head, dark eye and well placed ears. Good body, level topline, good quarters. Moved well in profile. Showed well. 2. Brookes’ DOBELANDS TOUCH OF FROST AT ZETAMAX. Another well balanced dog, short coupled, level topline, good set on. Sound mover. I would just like a little more substance all through to complete the picture. 3. Delmar & Barker’s IR. CH: SHILLELAGH USHAKA. Puppy Bitch (3) 1. Jones’ DARLAUR DYMA FI. What a charmer! Very promising nearly all white puppy with attractive head and expression. Lovely reach of neck let into well laid shoulder. Nicely developed body for age, level topline and good set on. Sound on the move. In good coat and condition and showed well. Will follow her career with interest. 2. Robertson’s EQUIFOX SILVERY MOONLIGHT. Tan and white in good coat and condition. Lean head, dark eye, ears a little unsettled. Moved OK. Would prefer more bone and substance. 3. Clark’s CHIPSTEAD STAR. Junior Bitch (2) 1. Rogers’ FALKMERE’S FIRST IMPRESSION. Quite an attractive bitch with good bone, legs and feet. Good head, ear and eye, good spring of rib, level topline and good set on. Won this class on her movement. Showed steadily. 2. Robertson’s EQUIFOX SILVER STARGAZER. Tan and white bitch with lean head, dark eye. She showed well and was in good coat and condition but her front movement let her down. Post Graduate Bitch (4: 1) 1. Brookes’ DOBELANDS GIGGLE AND GOSSIP AT ZETAMAX. Pretty black headed bitch of quality. Nice length of head, dark eye and correct ears. Well put together, good spring of rib, level topline. Moved OK 2. Hall’s GLENDRATERRA DAWN CHORUS WITH GOSEL. Attractive bitch which had more substance than the winner. Good body, level topline. She didn’t use her ears today and her hind movement was not good. 2. Robertson’s EQUIFOX GOLD FLUTE. Limit Bitch (5) Good class of bitches. 2. Wilson’s LIZONI SHADOW DANCER. Another of my favourites. Black and white bitch of quality and the type that I like. Good head, ear and eye, lovely front, good body, strong quarters. Moves well and always shows beautifully. Proved she can breed a nice one too with the second in puppy dog. Well done. 3. Chalker’s RIO’S SPARKLING SNOWFLAKE. Open Bitch (2) 1. Smith’s THUNDERCLAP MACSWEENEY. Tan and white bitch of quality with a lovely head and expression. Good bone, legs and feet, good spring of rib and good strong quarters which she used well on the move. I was pleased to award her the C.C. 2. Morris’s SANAMARIS SPILL THE BEANS. Another quality bitch, with good head and eye. Good reach of neck, spring of rib, level topline, and set on. Good bone, legs and feet and a sound mover. Today she didn’t use her ears which spoilt her expression. Two very nice bitches. Antonia Thornton (Judge) |
