FOX SMOOTH MANCHESTER 23 Judge: Mr Martin Sanders FOX SMOOTH JUDGE MANCHESTER 23 Again thank you for this entry of 22 with three absentees. I can report that all exhibits temperaments were excellent, sadly though that was not the case for one exhibitor. There is a saying that there is always one bad apple in the barrel and that was evident today. Two points to observe in some cases ears were too large and low set and on the table some exhibits tended to knuckle over, then on the move crossed over in front so some had to pay the penalty. 1 Anderson & Watt, Nisyros Doradus. Smart individual of much promise. Correct in head which has strength in foreface. Keen in eye, ears are ok. Correct in neck which flows into a clean front assembly. Short in back with level top line which leads to a well set tail with plenty in shelf. He stands on quality bone with neat compact feet. He moved out with true purpose on the out and back whilst holding a pleasing profile on the go around. Presented in good order. BPD and I’m sure will continue to do well. 3 Howes, Caroline Kensdua Happy. 1 Nichols, Chantalle’s Ink Spot. Has plenty to admire all through. Masculine in head which has good length with strength in foreface. Eye is dark and expressive. Ears are ok. Plenty in neck with a clean front assembly with parallel forelegs. Ribbing is good. Top line is level and leads to a well set tail with plenty in shelf. Bone has quality with cat like feet. Once settled moved out well both ways and was presented in good order. Has time on his side. 1 Brookes, Zetamaz I’m Your Man. Quality exhibit with good ring presence. Pleasing to go over. His head is masculine with correct proportions. Plenty of strength in foreface, super eye and expression all topped off with neat well placed ears which he used to good advantage at all times. He excels in neck which flows into a clean front assembly with plenty in fore- chest. His forelegs are parallel. Back is short with excellent ribbing which leads to a well set tail with plenty in shelf. His bone has quality with cat like feet. He is eye catching on the stack and displayed accurate footfalls on the out and back and was presented in excellent order. Pleased to award him the CC today his second I’m told. Surely his crown is just around the corner! 1 Schoneberg, Earl Vd Schonenbergen. Another smart exhibit whom is pleasing to go over and correct for size. Correct proportions in head with plenty in fore face. Excellent eye and expression with neat well placed ears. He excels in neck with a clean front assembly. Top line is solid with a well sprung rib cage Tail set is bang on with plenty in shelf. He stands on correct bone with cat like feet. Moved out soundly with good rear parallel drive and was true on the return. Presented in good order. Close up to the CC winner; today RCC. He is already on his way to wearing his crown. Confident that this will happen! 2 Wilberg, Ch Kanix Quintus. This exhibit’s record speaks for itself and so much has been written about him but now he is competing with the big boys. There is no denying his overall make and shape with perfect balance throughout and he is super sound both ways and today this is where many failed; but for me I would prefer just a touch more of him to complete the picture. Nevertheless I’m sure he will continue to gain more major awards. 3 Dams, Burrencroft Handsome Boy and he is, completing a trio of quality males who I am sure will change places in the future depending on what a judge is prepared to forgive! 1 Kanix Rosemarie. Only six months old but has so much promise. Feminine in head with a good eye with neat well placed ears. Neck flows into a well laid shoulder. Back is short which leads to a well set tail with plenty in shelf. Her bone has quality and forelegs are parallel. Once into her stride she displayed accurate footfalls on the out and back whilst holding an eye catching profile on the go around and was handled sympathetically to gain maximum output. Pleased to award her BPIB. Will watch with interest. 1 Hannar, Hannar, Bokma Kirie at Borovale. 17 months and appeals for good overall breed type. Correct in head which is feminine with good balance. Keen in eye all topped off with neat well placed ears which she used to good advantage at all times. Her forelegs are parallel with plenty in fore chest. Neck flows into a clean front assembly. Short in back with a well sprung rib. Level in top line which leads to a well set tail with plenty in shelf. She stands on quality bone with neat compact feet. On the move she displayed accurate footfalls on the out and back whilst holding a pleasing outline on the go around and was presented in good order. The more I looked in the line-up the more she appealed. Today RCC hope that you get your just rewards if judged fairly. 1 Griffiths, Yoxella Well in Touch. A well grown individual of ample proportions. Head is correct with a keen eye with a wicked expression. Ears are neat and well placed. Forelegs are parallel all the way down to her feet. Neck flows into a clean front assembly with excellent well sprung ribs. Level in top line which leads to a well set high tail with plenty in shelf. Would prefer her to be a little shorter in general body outline but this did not detract from her sound movement. Will I’m sure continue to have plenty to admirers! 2 Martin, Tamedale Fenella. Has many of the winner’s attributes. Feminine well- proportioned head, keen in eye with well placed ears. Front assembly leads to a level top line with high set tail. Bone has quality with cat like feet. Unfortunately not as positive in her rear whilst going away but was well presented. 1 Wilberg, Ch Kanix Quickstep. At the start of Quicksteps career was her litter mate that was claiming most of the glory but now she has blossomed into a top draw specimen and today I was delighted to be given the opportunity to assess her with no politics to take note of and found this decision so easy! She strode into the ring and simply owned it from start to finish. On inspection her head is feminine with correct length with plenty in fore face. Dark in eye which is expressive all topped off with neat well placed ears which she used to good advantage at all times. Excellent in neck which flows into clean front assembly. The best of parallel forelegs which are straight and carried right down to her feet. She is ultra-short in back but still stands over plenty of ground. Tail is high set with ample in shelf. Her rear is well muscled and she stands on quality bone with cat like feet. On the stack she is so hard to ignore. On the move she displays accurate footfalls on the out and back whilst holding her profile on the go around. Presented in stunning order and at one with her handler at all times. Delighted to award her the CC and BoB. Even more delighted to witness her claim Group 1 from a very strong Terrier Group line up! Congratulations! 2 Vickers, Dams, Tamedale Topaz. No denying that this exhibit has plenty to admire. Head, eye and expression all correct. Neck flows into a clean front assembly. Ribbing is good. Tail set is bang on. Bone is ok, however was toeing in on the table tending to knuckle over and top line on the move was not as solid as the winner. Whilst going away she displayed good rear drive but crossed over in front on the return. Having said that I’m sure she will have plenty of connections to do well! 3 Dams, Vickers, Belfox Thea TAF NAF. Again has plenty of good breed points but were accompanied by the same issues as the second. 1 Goodley, Grenraterra Glad Rags. 7 year old and having a good day out. Feminine in head which has correct proportions. Keen in eye, plenty in neck and is well ribbed up. Top line and tail set correct with plenty in rib. She stands on good bone with neat feet. Moved out well both ways. Best Veteran.
