FOX SMOOTH DARLINGTON 22 Judge: Mrs P Sands FOX SMOOTH JUDGE DARLINGTON 22 My thanks must go to Darlington for the opportunity to award my first set of Challenge Certificates in the Smooths, I was thrilled to finally be here after a two year wait due to Covid, although not a numerically strong entry, quality was abundant, all mouths had good, clean dentition. 1. Jacques’ Residenset’s Hands In The Air for Jacqspot (imp SWE). Looking impressive for 9 years, he’s a big lad but all in proportion, he has good ears on top of his flat skull with a good underjaw, clean neck, standing on neat feet he has excellent bone and using his strong quarters, moved well, BV and thrilled to see him take Veteran Group 2. 1. Care/Mutum’s Spirit Du Manoir Saint Adrien for Thunderail (imp). 11 months, ok for head and ears, shoulders well back, pleasing top-line and tail set, nice outline, coat and presentation in good order, showed well for a youngster. 1. Arustamyan’s Chipstead Puzzle of Lorecon. A lovely package, he’s alert and confident, he has a super head with good chiselling with a dark eye and ears bang on top, good front assembly and strong quarters, looking good moving in profile, to be picky, a shorter back would finish the picture. 2. Davison’s Agria Latin Lover with Belfox. He has a small dark eye and good expression, straight legs but perhaps a little more layback would improve front assembly, although finer boned than 1st he is good for top-line and tail set, dense coat and good presentation. 1. McLaughlan’s Nisyros Crossfire at Azrams. A masculine boy with a pleasing outline, although preferring the ears of 2, this lad has a good head and expression, strong underjaw and clean neck, he has ample bone, well laid shoulders, a good depth to his chest and enough spring to ribs plus a sturdy loin, he stands on neat feet, has strength in his quarters and with his tail on top, moving well, I was pleased to award him the DCC. 2. Wilberg’s Ch. Kanix Quintus. A super dog with a perfect outline, he has such balance and symmetry, I can see why he features so much in the groups, expertly handled and showy, he has a well balanced head with a keen eye, short back and good top-line, however I would prefer to see more bone in a male, RDCC. 3. Schoneberg’s General Grau vd Schonenbergen. 1. Hannar’s Bokma Kirie at Borovale. This lovely little bitch is just short of 12 months old, she is of great make and shape, her ears, which she uses, are bang on top of her beautiful, typy head plus she has a small eye and intelligent expression, she has correct angulation at both ends, well ribbed and has neat feet, moving off well she looked a picture in the puppy group so pleased to see her pulled out in the cut, BP. 1. Giffiths’ Yoxella Well In Touch. Good for size this typy bitch has a lovely lean head, neat ears, good angulation at both ends, super handling, presentation, coat and conditioning, moving well in all directions. 1. Griffiths/Weiss’s Yoxella Whoa Black Betty. Moderately chiselled head and strong jaw, she has a clean neck leading to a good front assembly, plenty of depth but a little more bone would complete the picture, moving well, though I felt she was a tad overweight today. 2. Davison’s Tynefox La Vida Loca. Good ear set, dark eye but preferring the head shape of 1st, level top-line, set on ok but rather straight in stifle, well presented, coat in good condition. 1. Martin’s Tamedale Fenella. I was most impressed with this young lady, she’s super stylish with a lovely head and dark eye with a keen expression, a neck of fair length into nice sloping shoulders, she’s well constructed all through, the correct weight, ample bone and stands on neat feet, moving true I was pleased to award her the RBCC. 2. Marston’s Chipstead Petal. She has a good length to her head with a keen eye, neat all through and purposeful movement, a smart bitch, just not as compact as 1. Three lovely bitches. 1. Wilberg’s Ch. Kanix Quickstep. Well, what can I say about this beautiful, stylish bitch that hasn’t already been said before, she has strength and length to her feminine head and well set ears, she is good for bone and has correct angulation at both ends, good ribbing, short backed and standing on neat feet, she has well muscled quarters which she uses to drive around the ring, handled to perfection she took the BCC & BOB and so pleased to see her later take Group 3. 2. Moore’s Zetamaz Chasing Rainbows at Fincham. A lovely well proportioned bitch of a similar type to 1, she has a good outline both on the stack and move, she has a pleasing head and eye, good bone, depth, correct ribbing and moving well all ways. 3. Kettle’s Foxindean Future Legend.
