FOX SMOOTH BORDER UNION 16 Judge(s): MRS JENNY THORNTON (GLENDRATERRA) 1. Baker’s Roxway Extra Time at Tuskenraider. Smart, well grown black and white of 8 months. He has a good head, ears and expression, enough neck, level topline, stands on good legs and feet. Quite a handful but moved OK once settled. BPD. 2. Cook’s Aaralon Amos. Very smart b/w who was beautifully presented and prepared. He has an excellent front with good legs and feet, good topline, tailset and quarters. Just not the head of 1 needing more refinement in the back skull and more length of foreface. He too was quite a handful on the move but I am sure he will settle in time. 1. Templeton’s Nisyros Stormbound at Humeston. This was a new one to me and at 13 months is just out of puppy. What a super young dog he is too and a great showman. Lovely headpiece with correct dark eye and good ear placement, good neck and shoulders, good topline, tailset and quarters. He was beautifully presented and never put a foot wrong moving with drive and reach. I shall follow his career with interest. Res CC. Congratulations to his sporting owners. 2. Bissett’s Turflindie Mr Dusty Millers at Foyleside. A t/w who showed well. He has a head of good length but not as clean in back skull as 1. He is a little upright in shoulder and thus appeared a bit long in the back. 1. Ketley & Gash’s Enjakay Split Second. This dog has a terrific headpiece with correctly placed ears and dark eye giving a real varminty expression. He has enough neck, level topline, good bone, legs and feet, moved very well on a loose lead. To be hypercritical I would prefer a little more extension in front movement, but he is a good honest dog. 2. Griffiths’ Yoxella Wrecking Ball. Very smart t/w with typical terrier temperament but who can be a bit of a handful. He has a good body shape with excellent length of neck, good topline and tailset, lovely legs and feet. Just preferred the head planes of 1. 3. Rougvie’s Turflindie Trombone at Dawn. 1. Anderson, Watt & Gabel’s Am G Ch Absolutely Uncensored. Love this dog for his size and balance. He has a super headpiece, not overdone, clean back skull, beautiful ear placement and carriage, dark eye, good strength of muzzle. He has well laid shoulders, very short back with level topline, good tailset and carriage. He has good legs and feet and enough rear angulation. He moves well especially in profile and from behind. All this and the ultimate showman with an outgoing, friendly temperament. This is the best I have seen him look, he was in super coat and condition and presented in spanking good form. CC, his third, with BOB. Congratulations to all the connections. 3. Rougvie’s Turflindie Maestro Please. 1. Anderson & Watt’s Nisyros Absolutely Wicked. What a little gem this is. Beautiful head, ears and lovely dark eye giving correct expression. Lovely neck, shoulders and forehand, level topline. Just needs to muscle up on her quarters which will happen with maturity. Gassy showgirl, BPB, BPIB and Puppy Group 2 under Paul Eardley. Congratulations! 2. Templeton’s Nisyros Zarkana at Humeston. This pup has a super head with dark eye and correct chiselling giving keen expression. Right size ears which are well set. Short back with level topline, good quarters which she uses well. Just not the front assembly of one. This was quite a challenging class to judge with varying types and sizes, even the two litter sisters were different. The first 3 or 4 can and will change places on other days and all will have bright futures I’m sure. 2. Griffiths’ Yoxella Wish List. Bigger bitch than 1, with great body. She has excellent quarters which she uses well on the move. Would prefer a darker eye and to see more development in the head which given her age can happen. 3. Davies’ L’Magali du Manoir Saint Adrien. 1. Hamilton’s Thunderclap Mackinlay at Cromlechs. Well bodied t/w bitch shown in excellent coat and condition. Long head which has good strength of muzzle but lacks a bit of refinement in the back skull, ears a little heavy. Good body shape if a touch long, well muscled quarters. Moved out with purpose. Well handled 1. Templeton’s Nisyros Out of Control. Smart b/w bitch shown in cracking form as were all from this ownership. Good head and ears, well bodied, moved and showed well, though could be a touch tighter in front movement. 2. Heathcote’s Corriecote Solar Eclipse. Heavy marked b/w of correct size with a most beautiful head piece reminding me so much of some of the Maryholms of yesteryear which is hardly surprising given the breeding. Lovely neck and shoulders, short back, level topline, good tailset and carriage. I felt on the day her movement was not as positive as 1, particularly in the rear. 3. Bissett’s Turflindie Miss Symphonee. 1. Baker & Jones’ Darlaur Delaware to Tuskenraider. I have admired this bitch since she came out as a puppy and going over her did not disappoint. One of the best heads of the day with well-placed ears which she used at all times, good eye, correct foreface and strength of muzzle. Lovely neck and shoulders, level topline, good tailset and carriage. She showed and moved really well throughout. I was pleased to award her the CC, a first for the bitch and for her sporting owner/handler. I hope the other 2 are not far away! 2. Mullan’s Nisyros Climate Control at Tamodan. B/w bitch who was shown in great form and well put down. She has lovely reach of neck good topline and tail set. She showed really well, just not quite the forehand and head properties of 1.
