DANDIE DINMONT THREE COUNTIES 15 Judge: Mr F Kane BEST OF BREED : 1122 DEACON Mrs B Ch Am Ch Pennywise Burning Ambition For Cassencarr DANDIE DINMONT JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 15 Thank you for a very good entry in terms of numbers & quality. I really enjoyed the breed & the bitches here especially provided a very strong line-up for the challenge. Fronts & front action were problematic for some. Many thanks to my stewards, Avis & Preston Haffenden. PD 1 Borderstone Kingman, 8 months pepper, quality puppy of good length & a very good forehand assembly. Correct length of ribcage. Good coat. Needs a little more stop & I would prefer a little more roundness to skull but he is still young. Moved very well. Tailset a little high but he is full of type. BPD. JD 1 Hawkesmill Jefferson at Etsill, 16 months, good size & gently curves to outline. Strong head & good proportions. Ear leathers a little thick. Needs time for coat to finish. Good hindquarters & tail. Front action can improve. He was a little unsettled after an incident with Bull Terriers. Pressed hard for RCC; 2 Deegandan Reiver to Tollcross, 17 months pepper. I liked his head & his coat. A little larger & heavier type who has a sound rear. Front construction could be better. Excellent temperament. PGD 1 Inzievar The Goldsmith, 18 months mustard of lovely size & shape. Good head proportions & nice dome to skull. Coat coming nicely. Held his shape on the move. Convincing winner here & can go on to better things. Full of type; 2 Bonnybeck Moonlight Bay, 2 years, good coated dog who is a little flat in topline & tail a little high in carriage. He won this place on sounder action over a better toplined dog. Nice size. A touch flat in skull; 3 Dentgate Celebration. LD Most difficult class of the day, mixed for type & movement & a lovely dog standing threw his chances away on the move. 1 Dandiroyal Diggory Velvet, 22 months mustard, lovely headed dog of good length & shape. Excellent coat texture. Very good rear. A little unfinished in front & this shows on his front action but all Dandie in type & should finish well. RCC; 2 Hawkesmill Indiana, 2 years, lovely shape held on the move. Not yet fully mature in rib & chest & this showed in his front action. I preferred width of head & strength of muzzle of 1; 3 Hawkesmill Indigo for Reidswire. OD 1 Am Ch Pennywise Burning Ambition for Cassencarrie, 9 years, remarkable dog of lovely size & shape, wonderful front extension on the move & very good rear. Excellent head proportions. Very good body shape & in superb coat. Correct tail & carriage. CC & his more gentle lines took him to BOB over the lovely bitch. PB 1 Dandiroyal Helga Hufflepuf, 8 months pepper bitch of lovely size & curves, very good head & eye, good coat texture. Very good movement, her front action one of the best of the day. BP; 2 Dainty Dandies Royal Dutch Emma, 8 months mustard, another lovely puppy with excellent head proportions. Good ears, excellent rib for her age, good rear. Just a touch heavier in shoulder than 1 whose front action won her this close decision; 3 Siwop Black Baccara Rose. JB 1 Hawkesmill Jenny For Wilmit, 16 months, beautiful weasel-like body shape held on the move where she is good at both ends. Excellent skull, foreface & eyes. Good coat texture which is a little dark still but she exudes type & quality. Not quite the maturity of CC winner but close up. RCC; 2 Cloverwood Wish Upon A Star, 16 months, very shapely bodied with good coat & colour. Not very willing to help her handler on the move showing some of the Dandie temperament. I preferred head & expression of 1 but she is full of type. Like her male kennelmate, not really enjoying the proceedings. PGB 1 Dentgate Opal, 22 months pepper who is a good size & proportions but a little heavy in body on the day. Excellent coat & the best mover in the class. Good head & eye. Her topline on the move would be helped by less weight but she was a convincing winner of this class; 2 Puddockswell Sweet Phoebe, 7 years mustard who belies her age in her bodylines & active movement. Her head is lacking a little in stop & dome & she could be a little better in front action but she has excellent coat & topline & rear action; 3 Bonnybeck Delilah Creek. LB Two very typy bitches. 1 Maganbar Apple Blossom, 3 years, lovely size & shape, in excellent coat. Pleased me in head & eye. Front action a little loose. Excellent rear & topline & full of temperament. Carriage on the move & topline were excellent; 2 Dandiroyal Puddleglum, lovely bitch with excellent head & eye. I liked her front & front action. At the moment looks immature in body & has not quite the curves of 1 but I liked her a lot. OB A class full of quality headed by Ch Inzievar Sparkling Silver, almost 3 years, beautiful type, in excellent coat & very good on the move. Lovely head proportions & excellent eye & expression. Lovely size & proportions. Won CC on maturity from the JB. Her topline on the move is a little extreme for my taste & this is where the dog scored for BOB. CC; 2 Cloverwood Drama Queen, 4 years, lovely size & shape. Strong head & excellent proportions, good on the move but not in her best coat on the day; 3 Etsill Skara Brae. FRANK KANE |
