DANDIE DINMONT JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 12

DANDIE DINMONT TERRIER

I was pleased to be able to help out by standing in for the scheduled judge who was unable to attend the show. The entry was only 21 dogs and there were four absentees so it would not be sensible to draw any overall conclusions about the breed with only seventeen dogs present. Suffice it to say that I was happy with the top winners.

PD (2)

1 Deacon's Cassencarrie I Kid You Not Sh.CM, Mustard, much more mature than 2, pleasing and typical in head with more head maturity at this stage, better in eye, could be better in topline. Coat OK and moved pretty well in front, good feet and strong hindquarters. Went on to be BP and win RDCC.

2. Jacka-Slater's Pennywave Lone Ranger, Mustard, only just over six months so very much a baby compared to 1. Head coming on OK, very promising in body and outline, moved OK in front. Coat coming in well for his age, correct length and good topline.

LD (4, 1)

1. Bromley's Mishahda Volcanic Storm, Pepper, a pleasing dog with a very typical head and expression, better in eye than 2, could move more positively in front but excellent typical coat, OK for body shape, better size than 2. Moved well behind, could be less proud of his tail.

2. Sleight's Cassencarrie Bobby Vee At Bonnybeck, mustard, strongly made dog whose coat was not at its best, could be a bit shorter in foreface and darker in eye. Moved better behind than in front. Good shape and outline and must be at the top end for weight

3 Hughes Maganbar Magic Moment

OD (4, 2)

1 Tinsley's Cloverwood Royal George, Mustard, good in head and skull, have seen him in better coat. A good deal better in front than 2. and stood and moved well there and went well behind as well. Enough neck and held his topline well on the move and showed well. Good feet and OK in rib and correct length of tail. Scored very much in front over the second. Went on to win the DCC and BOB.

2. Hunter's Etsill Scapa Flow, Pepper, pleasing in head and expression, good eye, shown in good coat. Moved well behind good in loin but failed somewhat in front construction and movement. Otherwise very good outline and typey.

PB (1)

1 Bromley's Cassencarrie Going Back To Mishahda, Pepper, very pleasing type, not too big and at the correct stage of development for her age. Moved out well and was pretty good in front, enough length of body without being overdone. Moved OK behind. Good eye. Very pleasing one which should finish up well. Needs time. Unfortunately in the challenge for BP just took a Dandie Dinmont stubborn-turn!

PGB (2)

1 Shores' Swanwillow She's Hot, Mustard, better typical head and expression than 2 and also better in neck. Moved better in front and also moved well behind. Good typical outline but weight would have been improved by just a shade less body and coat was by no means at its best. Good tail well carried.

2 Sleight's Cassencarrie Madelaina At Bonnybeck, Mustard, not in the best of coats either but with a different texture, and not quite the expression of 1. Good eye, moved much better behind than in front. Could have slightly better neck and shoulder. OK in tail and tailset and enough bone.

LB (1)

1 Kinsey-Morgan's Inzievar Gold Effect, Mustard pleasing in head and skull and good in foreface, but could be better in eye. Moved rather better in front than behind. Very pleasing in typical topline and tail. Enough depth and good in loin.

OB (7, 1)

1. Deacon's Cassencarrie Miss Grace at Pennywave, Pepper, a pleasing bitch with no frills but a great deal to like about her. Good for size, typical coat of good texture and length. Good Dandie outline and held it well when moving around the ring. Good in head without exaggeration, good eye, moved soundly in front and behind. A good honest Dandie bitch which went on to win the BCC.

2 Chapman-King, Hislop, & Eriksson's Ch Inzievar Gold Touch. Very good coat. Pleasing head and muzzle, good neck, correct topline and moved well behind and OK in front. Expression not helped by eye but a well made bitch with plenty of substance and went on to win the Res BCC.

3. Russell's Aust Ch Jollygaze Hopeless Romantic For Hawkesmill.
