DANDIE DINMONT THREE COUNTIES 11 Judge: Mr K Derry DANDIE DINMONT JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 11 Dandie Dinmont Terriers My most sincere thanks to my 2 stewards who were a tower of strength to me throughout my judging, considering the following week I was to have a knee replacement operation. The entry was quite good given the difficult times we are experiencing, however I was dismayed at the general faults on display, poor fronts in particular left front leg turning out up to 90 degrees, level toplines & very close movement behind. On the plus side temperament was very good. I was looking for balance throughout but only found this in a few exhibits. PD (2) 1 Shore’s Swanwillow Clarion Call, 9 months mustard but all the confidence in the world, came into the ring as if he owned it, strong masculine head coupled with dark eye giving soft expression, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, nice shape & balance, nice flowing topline standing & on the move. BP & CC, sure to go very far in the future; 2 Tinsley’s Cloverwood Royal George, 11 months mustard, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, good front, nice shape, good behind, moved well. JD (3) 1 Irvings Dandyhow Dexter, 18 months mustard, well constructed, has balance & shape, good front & rear construction, in good working condition, coat of correct texture & excelling in movement, if only he had the presentation & furnishings to finish the picture; 2 Bromley’s Mishahda Volcanic Storm, 16 months pepper, immaculately presented, very masculine head into well laid shoulders, pleasing shape coat in excellent condition. Movement good behind, not so at the front; 3 Hughes’ Meganbar Magic Moment. PGD (4) 1 Sleights Cassencarrie Bobby Vee, mustard, strong masculine head, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, nice topline, in excellent coat & condition, nice shape & balance, moving well behind; 2 D Dexter. LD (2) 1 Hunters Etsill Scapa Flow, pepper, dark eye giving nice expression, good front with deep chest, good coat of correct texture, moved well. Handled very well, not always allowed to travel on straight lines. OD (3) 1 Rosenbaum’s Int/Dan/Lux/ Dutch Ch German Dandies Nevio, Pepper, good front construction & rear, well laid shoulders, excelled on move. Coat not at its best but what was there was of good quality. RCC 2 Deacon’s Carac Most Definitely Cassencarrie, mustard, good masculine head & neck into well laid shoulders, correct coat. Not moving as good as 1. PB (6) 1 Shore’s Swanwillow She’s Hot, 9 months mustard, litter sister to Clarion Call & having all the quality of her brother, another sure to have a good future, beautifully balanced with correct shape; 2 Allen’s Inzievar Red Gold, 7 months mustard, correct shape, good head & dark eye, in good coat; 3 Sleight’s Cassencarrie Madelaina. JB (2) 1 Heywood’s Cloverwood Cay By Day at Schalulleke, 17 months pepper, correct shape & balanced, feminine head, dark eye giving soft expression, good neck into well laid shoulders, sound construction front & rear, moved very well, in good coat & condition; 2 Kinsey Morgans & Hislop’s Inzievar Gold Edition, 14 months mustard in good coat & condition, good front construction without excess, nice neck into well laid shoulders, moved very well. PGB (3) 1 Booth’s Cloverwood Candlelight, mustard, correct shape & balance, feminine with nice head on good length of neck leading into well laid shoulders, very good front, moved well when actually allowed to do so, in good coat & condition; 2 Hughes’ Meganbar Apple Blossom, mustard, free moving, pleasing shape; 3 Fry’s Ludlay Bride of Lammermoor. LB (7) 1 Deacon’s Cassencarrie Miss Grace at Pennywave, mustard, nice shape, well laid shoulders, good front, in good coat & moving well; 2 Hunter’s Etsill Inganess Bay, mustard, nice shape, feminine head with good expression, moving well when allowed to view movement; 3 Tinsley’s Cloverwood Sizzling Gold. OB (4) 1 Chapman King, Hislop & Eriksson’s Ch Inzievar Gold Touch, pepper, took the eye when entering the ring, in full coat of correct type & texture, very feminine, correct shape & balance outline, held topline standing & on the move, sound construction front & rear, moved very well. CC & BOB; 2 Tinsley’s Ch Cloverwood Lemon Drizzle, mustard, dark eye giving soft expression, good length of neck leading into well laid shoulders. Not the front of 1 or coat & presentation. RCC; 3 Russell’s Aus Ch Jollygaze Hopeless Romantic for Hawkesmill. K DERRY |
