Dandie Dinmont Terriers

LD (2,1a)

1 Jacka-Slater’s Pennywave Lone Ranger, 4 years mustard who has lots to like. He is well boned & pleased for overall type & balance. Well proportioned head with broad skull, well domed forehead & strong muzzle. Excellent eye for shape, colour & set, correct earset & scissor bite with nice large teeth. Muscular neck, good length to body with distinctive topline of the breed, well sprung ribs, strong loin & good tail for set & carriage. Moving well in profile. RBD.

OD (5,1)

1 Tinsley’s German Dandies Terence Hill at Cloverwood, 2 years mustard who stood out in this class for me. He excels for type & is a super headed boy, broad skull, well domed forehead, correct skull to muzzle proportions, excellent eyes for shape & colour & set wide apart & low & ears of good length & set. Strong neck of nice length, correct topline, muscular loin & tail of good set & carriage. Well laid shoulders & standing well in front. Best mover in the class. Good coat texture & excellent presentation. BD;

2 Edwards’ Cloverwood Midnight Blue, 4 years pepper who was good to go over. Attractive well proportioned head with broad skull, strong muzzle, expressive eyes & correct earset. Carrying excellent bone throughout, well ribbed & super muscling to both front & rear. Strong neck of correct length but could use a slightly more defined topline. Good tail for both set & carriage. Moving well in profile but not the fore & aft action of the winner;

3 Rolland’s Dandiroyal Diggory Velvet.

GC (1)

1 Powis & Wallen’s Siwop Black Baccara Rose, 22 months pepper bitch. Overall pleasing girl who presented a nicely balanced outline. Muscular neck of good length, super topline & tail spot on for set & carriage. Sufficient spring of rib & strong loin. Feminine head with good breadth of skull, well domed forehead, good skull to muzzle proportions, good eye & ear & correct dentition with nice large teeth. Moving well when viewed from the side & well enough on the down & back but could move with a tad more enthusiasm. Good coat & presentation.

PB (2,1)

1 Milton’s Puddockswell Hot Lips Houlihan at Wilmit, 7 months mustard. Only a baby but showing promise. Feminine throughout, she presented a nicely balanced outline with the characteristic topline of the breed. Neck of nice length, pleasing rib for age, short muscular loin, correct slope to croup to tail of good set & carriage. Nicely proportioned head with round eyes of good colour which are set wide apart & low down in the skull, excellent mouth & strongly made muzzle. Muscular forequarters with well laid shoulders & standing well in front. Moving very well in profile with excellent self carriage. BP.

PGB (4)

1 Garratt’s Cloverwood Wish Upon A Star, 2 years pepper who was so good to go over. Solidly built girl carrying nice bone & substance & such a good type. Feminine head but with strength, broad muzzle, nicely domed forehead, strong muzzle of correct length to balance skull, excellent eye, good earset & scissor bite. Muscular neck, well laid shoulders, correct topline, well sprung ribs, muscular loin & good tail for set & carriage. Excellent topknot & ear furnishings. Moving so well in profile with good propulsion from behind. Just carrying a little too much coat but a quality girl;

2 Powis & Wallen’s Siwop Black Baccara Rose;

3 Milliner’s Dandiroyal Ferrywiggle at Millerim.

LB (4,1)

Very nice class.

1 Tinsley’s Glahms Canadian Sunset, 3 years mustard with the most delightful head & expression. Ultra feminine yet retaining strength with nice breadth of skull, well domed forehead, strongly made muzzle, the best of eyes & ears & correct dentition. Head well covered with soft silky hair & presented in first class order. Soundly constructed both front & rear with particularly good side gait & carriage, moving freely with nice reach in front. RBB;

2 Jacka-Slater’s Cloverwood Duchess May, 2 years mustard & another top quality girl although of different type to the winner. She presents a super outline with neck of correct length, typical topline, short muscular arched loin & good tail for set & carriage. Attractive head with correct skull to muzzle proportions, round eyes of good colour & set, well set ears, nice strength to muzzle & excellent dentition. She is soundly built & moved freely & steadily. Good coat for texture & presentation;

3 Garratt’s Cloverwood Wish Upon A Star.

OB (2)

1 Milton’s Ch Hawkesmill Jenny for Wilmit, 2 years pepper of super quality. She scored for type & outline & was a pleasure to go over. She is feminine throughout & for me she presented the perfect silhouette of the breed with strong muscular neck of correct length, perfect topline, short arched loin & slight slope to croup to her correctly set tail which she carries so well. Well proportioned head with good breadth of skull, well domed forehead, dark round eyes which are set wide apart & low, correct ear set, strongly made muzzle & super dentition. Best of ribs & well developed forechest which was lacking in some here today. Good mover all through with particularly good side gait & self carriage. Quality coat & presentation. Delighted to award her BB, BOB & thrilled to see her later make the shortlist in the group;

2 Rolland’s Dandiroyal Puddleglum, 2 years pepper & another very nice bitch who was unlucky to meet the star of the day in this class. She is well made throughout & carries nice bone & substance. Attractive head with broad skull, nicely domed forehead, strong muzzle proportionate to length of skull, good eye & ear & correct dentition. Pleasing front assembly with well laid shoulders, well developed forechest & excellent rib. Nice length of neck, correct topline & tail good for both set & carriage. Excellent profile action.
