DANDIE DINMONT SKC AUGUST 14 Judge(s): MRS D J MCLEOD Dandie Dinmont Terriers P (6,3a) 1 Russell’s Hawkesmill Jenny for Wilmit, very calm & collected puppy taking it all in her stride, nice head, eye & expression, good steady movement, correct topline & tail carriage, jacket of good texture but pencilled coat yet to come, will watch her with interest. BP; 2 Skitt & Marshall’s German Dandies Trixibelle, a little older than 1 & most of my remarks apply but less settled making movement more difficult to assess, jacket of good colour & texture & once she settles could change places with 1 many times in the future, nice size; 3 Chapman-King’s Inzievar Gold Spark. J (3,1) 1 Denholm’s Dentgate Fire Opal, neat bitch just out of puppy & another nicely proportioned bitch with a good head & expression & a very dark jacket, sweeping topline & good bone, strides out well; 2 King’s Sunnybeck Delilah Creek, less forward than 1 & carrying a little too much weight spoiling her outline, good pencilled jacket & nice eye, nicely presented. Two promising classes of bitches but where have all of the dogs gone? PGD (3,1) 1 Riach’s Puddockswell Moon Dance, where has the pepper’s correctly pencilled coat gone? Another very dark pepper jacket of good texture, strong skull & teeth, nice dark eye & with good purposeful movement making a workmanlike little dog; 2 Sleight’s Bonnybeck Moonlight Bay, larger dog with good pencilled & coloured mustard coat but would improve in outline with a little less weight, nice front but carrying tail rather high. LD (1) 1 Watson’s Dentgate Noel, a new exhibitor with a pepper dog both of whom need experience of working together, nicely pencilled pepper jacket, nice head & stacks well but both dog & handler need experience & greater confidence to show themselves to greater advantage. OD (3) 1 Bromley’s Mishahda Volcanic Storm, well muscled dog well presented with strong head & dentition, good dark eye with soft expression, naturally good free stance that corroborates his good construction, flowing topline, well laid shoulders & positive movement. CC & BOB; 2 Skitt & Marshall’s Ch Degandan Doughal, the same remarks apply & I am sure they could well challenge each other many times but I just preferred the outlook of 1 today. RCC; 3 Riach’s Puddockswell Gilded. PGB (0). LB (3,1) 1 Denholm’s Dentgate Hollyberries, small, neat bitch, good colour & pencilled coat of good texture, nice head with good stop & good, wide apart eyes, well set ear & good tight shoulders. RCC; 2 Skitt & Marshall’s Dunedin Limited Edition, larger bitch with good, crisp pencilled jacket, nice flowing lines & good tail carriage, would prefer a larger eye, little to draw between them but this bitch wasn’t as settled on the day. OB (3,2) 1 Chapman-King, Hislop & Kingsley-Morgan’s Ch Inzievar Sparkling Silver, nice sized bitch with good crisp jacket, good head, eye & earset, flowing topline & well set tail, moved confidently & steadily to take CC.
