DANDIE DINMONT SKC AUGUST 10 Judge(s) MR A P STEPHENSON DCC CASSENCARRIE JAMES BLONDE (MRS I CARTER) Dandie Dinmont Terriers P (4,1a) 1 Shore’s Swanwillow Seabreeze, pepper bitch, such a sweet head & dark eye, good muzzle & bite, well placed leathers, good front & neck, good on body & jacket, tailset sound, moved & showed well. Just needs a bit more maturity for top honours; 2 Bedborough’s Hendel Crofter for Pitifirrane, very nice all round pepper dog, unfortunately not covering the ground as well as 1; 3 Hopper & Trippett’s Dengate Destiny. J (5,1) 1 Chapman-King & Buist’s Inzievar Royal Silver, what a super feminine pepper Dandie, such a lovely size, her head just melts you away, dark eye, good muzzle, ears laying so nicely, outline & tail set spot on, wonderful pencilled coat combined with excellent movement & wonderful handling. CC & BOB; 2 Shore’s Swanwillow Sea Captain, mustard dog, super outline, strong masculine head, well laid neck & shoulders, body sound, good rear & tailset, harsh jacket, a very promising dog for the future, moved with style. RCC & BP; 3 Hunter’s Etsill Scapa Flow. PGD (3) 1 Riach’s Puddockswell Gilded Imp, good looking head, mustard dog, nice topknot, dark eye, good mouth, neck & front, general body good, coat quality nice, tail was set-on. His movement won this class; 2 Miller’s Puddockswell Moon Shadow at Dryfevalley, pepper dog. Both these two specimens are very difficult to split up. The deciding factor was the way the dogs covered the ground. Could easily change places; 3 Cox-Purcell & Butcher’s Puddockswell Handsome Hector. LD (3,1) 1 Kerrush’s Inzievar Royal Gold, mustard dog, standing such a lovely profile & outline, stands out in a crowd, strong masculine head, when being handled moved back but never threatening, good teeth, strong muzzle, long neck & good shoulders, nice topline & tail, jacket in first class order, covering the ground with ease; 2 Skitt & Jones’ Vistca Vincent, mustard dog, very good outline. Not quite head of winner but still very nicely balanced, good topknot, dark eye & good mouth, not lacking in any other departments. Did not seem to get to grips with his handler on the move & having given him a second chance to improve sadly this was not to be. OD (2,1) 1 Carter’s Cassencarrie James Blonde, mustard, such a stunning dog to look at top to tail, taking the whole meaning of presentation to another level, topknot stood so naturally, dark expressive eye & good mouth, strong neck & good shoulders, nice topline. Would have liked a little more coat in the groin. Tailset OK. Such wonderful free movement, very well presented. CC. PGB (3,1) 1 Kerrush’s Inzievar Platinum, very pale mustard, such a feminine Dandie, dark soft eye, good muzzle & mouth, well laid ears, the whole profile just typical Dandie from top to tail, good free movement, nice conditioned coat, so well out together, pushed for top honours, very well handled; 2 Osbourne’s Pitfirrane Silver Lady of Braego, pepper, sweet head, well balanced body, not lacking in any department. Just needs to fill out & mature & I would suggest a little road work to improve movement. OB (4,1) 1 Hunter’s Puddockswell Hootin Annie at Etsill, good head & topknot, dark eye, good muzzle & mouth, sound front & rear, nice low tailset, good mustard jacket combined with fluent movement which won her the RCC; 2 Cox-Purcell’s Ir Ch Puddockswell Cloud Howe, pepper. Both these two were very similar, but it only came down to 1 covering the ground more soundly. In lovely order; 3 Danks’ Dawsholm Cantily Kate. |
