DANDIE DINMONT NATIONAL TERRIER 17 Dandie Dinmont Terrier Judge: Mrs C E Cartledge BEST OF BREED : 479 TINSLEY Mrs J G Cloverwood Ice And Fire DANDIE DINMONT JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 17 Dandie Dinmont Terriers Always a pleasure to judge Dandies but I didn’t think this was an easy entry as movement was disappointing. A couple of the lower classes lacked the quality I was expecting at championship show level. Temperaments as always divine. MPD (2) 1 BPD, Harcourt-Norris’ Dainty Dandies River Mersey at Lenacourt, 8 months pepper, good head, expressive eyes, well bodied, calm steady showman, good coat & condition, moved quite well; 2 Bailey’s Tygeirz Spartan, 6 months, real baby who needs to grow on obviously, still covered in puppy fluff, charming personality, good body. Filled in front & front movement, sympathetically handled. PGD (2) 1 Drake’s Tollcross Tartan Tavish, 18 months typy pepper, excellent head, eyes & expression, well fitting coat, good bone, long weaselly body but topline looks a little flat at the moment, moved OK; 2 Johnson’s Incantocani Alberto, 19 months mustard, expressive eyes, not in his best jacket, showed well & never stopped wagging his tail. Bit lean in condition, outline rather exaggerated for me. LD (7,1a) 1 CC, Booth’s Borderstone Kingman, 21/2 years pepper, good positive performer, good outline & proportions, well sprung ribs, quality head, broad skull, round expressive eyes, real character, well developed hindquarters, strong body, free easy stride when moving; 2 Kurg’s Hawkesmill Jefferson at Etsill, 3 years pepper, masculine head, most typical expression, lovely eyes, good bone & body, correct topline. Not moving as well in front as winner; 3 Russell & Greenway’s Bardolynns O’leary. OD (4) 1 Difficult class as both 1st & 2nd were playing up & trying their owners & my patience, but eventually they settled down. 1 RCC, Deacon’s Ch Cassencarrie Top Marks, 31/2 years pepper, doing things his own way on the move, quality head, expressive eyes, lovely coat & condition, well muscled quarters, good outline & body, showed well when he felt like it. In the final run off for CC did not move as well as Kingham behind; 2 Tinsley’s Ch German Dandies Terence Hill at Cloverwood, the ultimate naughty boy, this mustard who showed & moved on & off as he pleased, all male, excellent coat & body, well sprung ribs, good bone, pleasing head, good expression, front action 100%; 3 Bell’s Hawkesmill Indigo from Reidshire. MPB (3) 1 Miller’s Dryfevalley Miss Muffet, 8 months mustard, self confident with intelligent expressive eyes, already know what to do, good bone & body, reasonable topline, moved & showed quite well; 2 Kurg’s Etsill Fara, 7 months, feminine in every way, but I should like a little more bone & substance, very showy & responded well to her handler both standing & moving, impossible child of 6 months, excellent type & quality, but has to learn what to do from basics before she can progress!; 3 Tinsley’s Cloverwood Yours Truly. PB (3) 1 BP, Russell’s Hawkesmill Karamel, 10 months mustard, feminine face, sparkling round eyes! Full of goodwill, relaxed showgirl, sturdy body, well proportioned, made the most of herself when moving. Delighted to hear she went BPIS; 2 Johnson’s Incantocani Florenza, 11 months pepper, splendid coat, attractive head & expression, excellent body, could have a better layback of shoulder, moved OK behind but needs to improve in front; 3 Green’s Hawkesmill Keepsake for Abbeywater, litter sister to 1st, mustard puppy with pleasing head, showed with focus, good coat. Needs to grow into herself at the moment she looks a big long cast. JB (2) 1 Rolland’s Dendiroyal Sophie, 13 months pepper of good type, high spirited showgirl, good head & expression, muscular neck, good ribcage & body, low set hocks, moved OK; 2 H Keepsake for A. PGB (3,1) 1 Powis & Wallen’s Venord Windchant, 8 years mustard at her first show, doesn’t look half her age, super coat, strong body, well sprung ribs, good bone, not a bad mover. Bit of eye stain spoils expression; 2 Milton’s Puddockswell Hot Lips Houlihan at Wilmit, 18 months, feminine head, large round eyes, good body. Failed badly in coat condition, also poor hind movement. LB (6,2) Good class. 1 Tinsley’s Cloverwood Ice And Fire, my kind of girl this mustard of 18 months, very shapely, good topline & overall proportions, best mover today & really excelled in hindquarters & drive behind, lovely head, round sparkling eyes, good neck, body & ribs. CC & BOB; 2 Garratt’s Cloverwood Wish Upon A Star, 3 years, carrying plenty of weight but this did not affect her movement at all, liked her head & expression, excellent coat, well presented, well balanced steady showgirl, I see her mum is the lovely Lemon Drizzle; 3 Bell’s Dandiroyal Rita Skeeter. OB (7,2) 1 RCC, Chapman-King, Kinsley-Morgan & Hislop’s Ch Inzievar Sparkling Silver, 4 years, excellent type & quality, very good head & eyes, good topknot, in excellent condition, correct coat, fit & well muscled with good body & topline, happy showgirl, well handled, just not the drive or hind action of the LB but a most appealing Dandie; 2 Kerrush’s Micklam Sun Kissed, failed in head & expression, excellent bone, body & outline, carried herself well on the move, well handled, excellent coat, showy & focused; 3 Buckley’s German Dandies Violetta.
