DANDIE DINMONT JUDGE MIDLAND COUNTIES 24

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge the Dandie Dinmont Terriers at this show. There were some lovely examples of this charming breed, a little long in the foreface but in general the standard of the youngsters was very pleasing and with many young exhibitors coming into the breed this assures the future of this endangered breed. My judgements were accepted with good sportsmanship and made this a very enjoyable appointment.

PD (3,1)

1 Redman’s Puddockswell Rockit 8 month. Mustard. Body shape developing well, giving good profile on the move. He is very confident in the ring. Head nicely domed, with bright dark eyes. Sound movement both ways and covered the ground well. Nice one for the future.

2 Cruden & Kaye’s Puddockswell Knuckles Mcginty For Shamsky. At 6 months. And still a raw baby and in full puppy coat. Taking everything in his stride. Nice head and expression will be interesting to see how he matures.

1 Tinsleys Cloverwood Happy Daze. A stunning Mustard boy from this kennel. Lovely masculine head, dark eyes with soulful expression. Underjaw is strong for age and big teeth. His reach of neck in to shoulders very pleasing. Thick double jacket, beautifully presented as always . Good drive from rear, light loose in front due to age which will tighten up as his chest drops. RBD

2 Bells Cloverwood Total Legend Pepper and little brother to 1. Another super type dog with great coat and held outline perfectly on the move. Really liked his rear assembly and extended movement. Sympathetically handled.

3 Buckley’s Lovelottie Busy Bean.

PGB (4,1)

1 Cundall’s Puddockswell What The Dickens Of Bleaklee Strongly made Mustard boy. Head correct and eye placement. Deep chest with ample rib good turn of stifle. Would like a little more length in loin. But he took this class by movement.

2 Cruden& Kaye’s Dyfevalley Midnight Blue Nice for type, carrying condition today, giving rather stocky outline. Super double jacket and net tail set.

3 Atkinson’s Poppetaiz Mrbluesky At Hullpride.

OD (5,1)

1 Butchers’s Ch Mishahda Mischief Managed. This Mustard boy filled the eye when he entered the ring, Super example of this breed. Showing strength and elegance, beautifully prepared for the ring. His domed head fitted the hand, and silky pendulous ears. Big dark eyes well placed into the correct length of face. Big teeth for doing the work he was bred for. Neck strong and flowed into his lovely lay of shoulder. Chest deep with great ribcage. Length of loin and gentle curves provided the perfect outline for me. BOB

2 Karlsen & Allenby’s Ch Dariant Gladiolus At Karezig. Another lovely Pepper boy, has all the attributes of the champion he is. Powered round the ring, he had a beautiful outline with good length of body presenting the long low look of a well made Dandie. He is the classic type from head to tail, just unlucky to come up against 1 on this day.

3 Drake and Kurg’s Ch Estill Mykillkvi With Tollcross
SPBD (6,3)

1 Bells Cloverwood Total Legend. He took this class with ease and will soon win himself out of this grade before long. Super Pepper and I look forward with interest to see how he does in the future. BSPB

2 Baker & Denton’s Cloverwood Storm Shaddow another nice dog from this kennel. Showed nicely and well handled

3 Atkinson’s Poppipetalz Mr Bluesky At Hullpride

PB (5,2)

1 Lord, Davis & Kettle’s Calarlin Memento Vita Mustard 11 months and one word WOW ! This is the most promising puppy I have seen for years. She has been well schooled. and took complete charge of the ring. Movement great reach from front assembly and drive from her well let down hocks. Head and expression beautiful with melting eyes, her neck flows well into her shoulders and when her chest drops will and strength to the picture. Gentle curves and good tail set holding profile of this breed. Delighted to award her BB and BPIB

2 Sleight’s Finamors Voulez Vous With Bonnybeck. Sweet Mustard girl still developing into a nice bitch. Not as confident as 1 but when she settles more, she will show her virtues. topline pleasing. Nice one for the future.

3 Poole’s Redgreet Parsley

JB (5)

1 Russell’s Lovelettie Butter Bean To Hawksmill. Neat Pepper of the desired length. Head is still developing , eyes dark and expressive. Good straight front with deep chest and well ribbed. Pleasing rise into good tail set. Moved out with confidence.

2 Buckley’s Lovelettie Full Of Beans. Litter sister to one, another charming girl, so much to like, lovely size, double coat well presented not much to choose between these two.

3 Cundall’s Puddockswell Copperfield Of Bleaklee

PGB (5,1)

1 Cavanagh’s Nora Z Roxburku Sun Cum Magellanica Smart young Pepper, shown in good coat and pleasing penciling. Head pleasing with dark eyes, good big teeth. Front straight and true chest good depth. strong rear assembly.

2 Redman’s Puddockswell Little Fig. Another pretty Pepper. 19 months old, so she has still more development to do. She has great confidence and ring presence. I would like to see how she grows on.

3 Spence’s Puddockswell Day Dream At Dachsbrook.

OB (9,2)

1 Tinsley’s Ch Cloverwood Here Comes Lulu. A delightful Pepper bitch who has at last got her adult coat. She is a beautiful girl and sparkled in the ring. Lovely classic head with darkest eyes, ears correctly set. Well developed under jaw suitable for work, but showing no coarseness. Lovely for length showing off her gentle curves, into well set tail. It was a shame that she didn’t move out as well as I have seen before. RBB

2 Allenby’s Ch Diddimont Luna Woffgood This is another lovely Mustard bitch who I have like from afar. I wasn’t disappointed. Beautifull for length and overall balance, great double jacket. Shown in great condition. Pretty head and expression. Good front extension from correct front assembly and power from rear. Well handled.

3 Sleight’s Ch Danchester’s Can You Here Me Roar. Making a up a trio of champions.

VB (2,1)

1 Atkinsons Kingcottage Abilene West At Hullpride. 10 years young! Enjoyed her showing. She has sweet expression and is shown in excellent condition a credit to her owner.

SPBB (2,1)

1 Poole’s Dryfevalley Matilda Young Pepper. A real old fashioned type, what you see is what you get. Small but a lot of development still to do. She moved out soundly
