DANDIE DINMONT MIDLAND COUNTIES 15 Judge(s): TOM MATHER Dandie Dinmont Terriers PD (0). JD (1) 1 Booth’s Borderstone Kingman, large, broad skull, silky topknot, good sized round eye. Well boned with nicely padded feet. Good rib with slight arch over the loin giving a very typical topline. Well presented jacket. Moved out soundly. PGD (2,1a) 1 Kurg’s Hawkesmill Jefferson at Etsill, a classy dog with a grand head, large expressive hazel eye, strong jaw. Well ribbed with a clearly defined arch over the loin & a good topline & tailset. Shown in a good jacket of the correct length & it was presented to best advantage. Went out well with some drive from the rear. RCC. LD (6,2) 1 Kerrush’s Micklam Jack Point, strong masculine head, large well set eye & strong jaw. Decent forehand with good bone, well ribbed, on the table tended to flatten out a little but when standing naturally & when moving he has a very typical topline. Good jacket; 2 Young’s Inzievar The Goldsmith, shown with a good double coat, strong jaw & good eye. Well boned with nicely padded feet. Moved out well with some drive from the rear; 3 Rolland’s Dandiroyal Diggory Delvet. OD (7,2) 1 Deacon’s Ch/Am Ch Pennywise Burning Ambition for Cassencarrie, hard to believe that this dog is nearly 10 years of age. Big skull with clear rich eyes, soft topknot, strong jaw & good dentition. Well boned. Low weaselly body with clearly defined arch over the loin. A very good moving dog & absolutely typical in all respects. CC. In the challenge he was just a shade unsettled while the bitch pulled out all the stops to take BOB; 2 Milliner’s Ir Ch Xenon Z Roxburku Sun at Millerim, smart & well balanced with a good eye & strong jaw. Good forehand with adequate forechest; 3 Tinsley’s German Dandies Terence Hill at Cloverwood. PB (3,2) 1 Buckley’s German Dandies Violetta, feminine with a pleasing head & expression, good topknot. Shapely & she is a good length. Moved out quite well with some drive from the rear. Shown in a tight jacket which will look more typical in a few more weeks. BP. JB (5,2) 1 Jacka-Slater’s Cloverwood Duchess May, a good moving bitch, feminine with a broad skull, strong jaws & a good eye which gave her a pleasing expression. Good forehand with adequate bone, typical topline, decent jacket of good texture; 2 Shore’s Mishahda Golden Chestnut at Swanwillow, shapely & with a very good head & pleasing expression, well ribbed with slight rise over the loin; 3 Bromley’s Mishahda Vibrant Amber. PGB (2) 1 Milliner’s Dandiroyal Ferrywiggle at Millerim, good sized skull, dark very expressive eye, decent forehand with good bone. Long & low but tended to flatten a little on the table but was better when relaxed & moving. Went well with particularly good hind action; 2 Young’s Dentgate Opal, slightly more compact in outline, grand head with a lovely expression, well ribbed & good moving. Good double coat. LB (5,1) A good class. 1 Milton’s Hawkesmill Jenny for Wilmit, most attractive head & expression with large, dark hazel eyes & a strong jaw. Low slung & weaselly with an excellent topline. Moved soundly & steadily both coming & going & her good jacket was presented to advantage. CC & BOB; 2 Rolland’s Dandiroyal Puddleglum, close up to the winner & on another day positions could be reversed. This is a really good moving bitch with a delightful head & expression. Good forehand, well ribbed with a very typical topline. Well presented double coat. RCC; 3 Russell’s Hawkesmill Ishbelle. OB (4,1) 1 Tinsley’s Cloverwood Totally Devoted, a real eyecatcher who presents a lovely picture with her well presented double coat of correct length. Good skull & large limpid eye. Good forehand & well ribbed body. Moved soundly but couldn’t quite match the joie de vivre of the two younger bitches in the challenge; 2 Chapman-King’s Inzievar Gold Spark, pleasing head with strong jaw & good eyes. Shapely & well ribbed with good length & slight rise over the loin; 3 Milliner’s Dengold Gypsy Moth at Millerim. TOM MATHER |
