DANDY DINMONT LEEDS 22 Judge: Mrs Ann Deegan DANDIE DINMONT JUDGE LEEDS 22 I would like to thank the officers and committee of Leeds Championship Dog Show for entrusting me with the opportunity to award CCs in Dandie Dinmont Terriers for my first time, my observation is that mouths and rear movement need close attention, grooming as recently stated by fellow breed specialists needs care and attention to prevent over presentation, having said that I was presented with the age old question, do you award a perfectly groomed dog with some faults, or an under groomed dog with good construction and make, I made my decision on the day. 1. Butcher’s Mishahda Mischief Managed. 18 months, up to size mustard dog, showy topknot, well groomed crisp coat which showed his eye catching top-ine, held shape on the move showing drive, could have a little more strength of skull which will come with maturity, would prefer a darker eye, RDCC. 1. Swallow’s Belapapavo Joyous Jaguar. Up to size mustard with a crisp jacket, a little wide front and back at this stage, tending to hop on the longer, dry grass. 1. Poole’s Hawkesmill Merlon. Up to size boy with a crisp coat, skull could be stronger and eye darker, hopping on the grass but enough to assess movement, flattens top-line on the move. 2. Stanley’s Sokrovische Gardariki Aristokrat at Waffelin. Mature mustard of 3 years, preferred top-line of 1, working well with handler. 1. France’s Ch/Multi Int Ch. Back To My Roots at Luna Caprese. 4 year old mature pepper with beautiful rear angulation, lovely gentle top-line held on the move, crisp well presented coat, all over nice outlook, melting expression, strong skull, good lay back, DCC & BOB. 2. Milton/Kurg’s Barton Dandies Charles Darnay (imp ESP). Happy mustard with beautiful expression, preferred head to one, bit less settled on the move, could swap places many times, will watch with interest. 1. Bamber’s Dentgate Mutuca Indicolite. 9 year old pepper with crisp coat, ok in top-line but tail a little high set, ears set a little far back and low, enough skull but could be stronger. 1. Poole’s Hawkesmill Merlon. 1st in LD. BSpB. PB 3(0) 1. Kurg’s Etsill Hannabreck. Raw 6 month and 2 weeks baby at first show, coping well, nice, attractive pretty headpiece for age, top-line and rear movement will improve and settle with age, better coming than going a this stage, will watch her career with interest, she will do well, BP. 2. Bell’s Cofgodas Beurre D’Avalon. Delightful mustard just under one year, grooming spoilt top-line as in two stages, lovely expression, long in rib, better coming than going. 1. Buckley’s Jollygaze Quizzical for Lovelettie (imp AUS). Lovely pepper bitch of 16 months, well groomed crisp coat, slightly wide going away but the grass was harsh, maintains top-line on the move, flowing, free movement, attentive and synchronised with handler, happy showgirl who will also do well, pushed hard in the challenge. 1. Cundall’s Diddimont Bella Trix of Bleaklee. Lovely head with pretty expression, nice gentle top-line, erratic movement behind, coat between stages. 2. Allan’s Cloverwood Saffron avec Clairmorin. Presentation of this bitch needs to be addressed as she has a good crisp coat, best construction of the class with a lovely top-line, I hope her handler improves her grooming as she deserves to do better. 3. Bamber’s Dentgate Silk Red Ribbon. LB 8(0) 1. Kurg’s Etsill Selchie. Feminine bitch, crisp pepper coat nicely blended, lovely top-line and tail set held on the move. 2. McCain’s Blue Violet Flower at Bankwillow (imp RUS). Lovely feminine bitch, beautiful expression, preferred movement of one on the day. 3. Stanley’s Sokrovische Gardariki Astory at Waffelin. 1. Allenby’s Ch. Diddimont Luna Wuffgood JW. Petite 20 months youngster, nice weaselly outline with flowing movement, correct tail set, RBCC. 2. France’s Ch. Miss Sophie Di Luna Caprese at Torbrae (imp GER). Mature mustard girl with lovely ring presence, preferred top-line of one, show girl with good angulation. 3. Sleight’s Ch. Danchester’s Can You Hear Me Roar for Bonnybeck. 1. Milton’s Ch. Hawkesmill Jenny for Wilmit JW ShCM. 8½ year old pepper, well conditioned girl not showing her age, smooth movement when grass allowed, eye-catching top-line, coat well presented and blended to complete the package, I could not deny her BCC, I understand she became the joint breed record holder today, BCC & BV.
