Caledonian Championship Dog Show June 16th 2019

Judge Jackie Shore

I would like to thank this hard working Committee for inviting me to judge this Championship Show for the second time, the first time was in 2000 and the Club has gone from strength to strength well done to everyone involved. Special thanks to my steward Ali Cox who kept the ring flowing. My overall view was today bitches were stronger than dogs both numerically and quality, in some classes I had to choose between soundness and size, which for me soundness must come first. Heads gave me some concern, with flat skulls, high set ears and short muzzles, with small teeth they are after all working Terriers and should be capable of holding and dispatching efficiently.

PD 1)

1 Ainscough Puddockswell Abel Magwitch to Dengold Nice typical mustard in good coat for age, well proportioned head, good mouth with correct scissor bite and appealing expression from a dark hazel eye and plenty of topnot. Straight in front with good round feet, good lay of shoulder and topline. Showed and moved well for a puppy.

JD 1)

1 Webber & Webbers Lilyphanie Great Showman 15months Mustard very mature for age, correct size, lovely domed head in proportion to muzzle, good bite dark eye and low set ears covered in silky topnot. Excellent shoulders and topline just flows. Neat front and round feet, with good angulation behind he moves as you would expect. Covered in a well conditioned coat of good colour and crisp texture. RDCC.

In good quality coat of correct texture. Moved out better behind than front which was a little wide, could lose some weight to advantage.
