Thank you to the committee for their kind invitation to judge at this lovely show at a fabulous venue. Thanks also to the exhibitors for their entry. I thought the young dog I put forward for the group has a bright future and was the best of the dogs I judged today. I did find it concerning that there was a real lack of substance in some, with some being quite “shelly”. I also found poor fronts and rear ends disappointingly prevalent. Temperaments were all fabulous. Grooming is still either very good or not great.

1 Davies & Kettle’s Bettyhill New Kid In Town – 17 month Mustard boy. Presented in excellent order. Masculine head with lovely expression, ear set good. Ok for topline. Liked his substance, without any coarseness and in no way overdone. Moved well. Promising youngster. BD, BoB

2 Baker & Denton’s Cloverwood’s Storm Shadow. 14 month Pepper male. Masculine head and typey expression. Preferred back end and bone of 1st.

1 Butcher’s Ch Mishahda Mischief Managed. 3year old Mustard male. Presented in excellent order with a lovely head and typical expression. Scissor bite. RBD.

2 Sharman’s The Norman Conqueror. 5year old Mustard male. Liked him for bone but let down with his presentation. Level bite.

1 Butcher’s Bonnybeck I’m No Muggle at Huffletuft. 20 month Pepper female. Feminine head. Moved well. Liked her for shape, had that flexibility in her body to give her the desired outline. Well presented. BB

2 Cundall’s Diddimont Bella Trix of Bleaklee.

3 and a half year old Mustard female. Feminine head, good mouth, excellent temperament. Preferred overall make and shape of 1st.
