Dandie Dinmont Terriers

An excellent entry with just two absent. A numerically small breed, but on today’s evidence in good fettle overall.

1 Culverhouse’s Cassencarrie Gandalf at Lykath, nice sort of Mustard, good head, front & shoulder, OK topline, excellent quarters with good muscletone, very good coat & condition, moved soundly;

2 Hansford’s Cassencarrie Bonnie Lad, pepper with decent head, front & shoulder. A bit flat in topline & just undercoat. Moved & showed well;

3 Miller’s Puddockswell Moonshadow.

1 C Gandalf at L;

2 Skitt’s Ibolya-Kozi Popey at Deegandan, mustard with good front, OK topline, good muscletone, sound;

PGD (3)

1 Smethurst’s Dawsholm Dapper Davoc, very nice quality pepper in spanking coat & hard condition all through, balanced head, good front, excels in layback with good neck & flow right through excellent topline & body which is well ribbed up, A1 quarters, moved & showed very well. RCC, his first such award & I notice he won the same award at the next show. Should make up;

2 Skitt & Jones’ Vistca Vincent, good headed mustard. Just OK in front & shoulder, a little stuffy. Good rib & quarters, OK in coat & condition but can improve here to effect. Sound;

3 Osbourne’s Puddockswell Amber Melody for Braego.

LD (2) 1 Fisher’s Mosterlada Who Dares Wins at Gypsywish, decent sort, good head, ear & eye, sound mouth & underjaw, OK front, good shoulder, ribbing & topline. A little straight in stifle. Excellent coat & condition, moved & showed well;

3 V Vincent.

OD (3)

1 Deacon’s Am Ch Pennywise Burning Ambition for Cassencarrie, top quality mustard all through, typical & balanced to boot, very pleasing head & expression, good front & forehand, lovely topline & body, well defined quarters, in excellent coat & condition, moving & showing in typical fashion with great verve. CC & BOB, shortlisted in a strong group;

2 Corless’ Dengold Enterprise, good sort with pleasing head, shape, rib & topline, good forehand with toning to thigh & gaskin. Short of coat & a little soft in condition overall; 3 C Bonnie Lad.

PB (1)

1 Morris’ Pennywave Amaryllis, lovely mustard babe, expressive, excellent front, shoulder OK but can settle to effect. Good topline, obviously needs time for the middlepiece, used quarters, excellent coat, moved & showed well. BP.

JB (2)

1 Cottee’s Deegandan Alwin, tidy mustard with feminine head, nice fore, topline & shape, good coat. Could improve in muscling & hardness. Moved & showed OK;

2 Bedborough’s Puddockswell Gilded Lily from Pitfirrane, this mustard has some promise & could improve no end with work & time. Good sort, length, shape & type, sound.

NB (2)

1 McLeod’s Dawsholm Meg Merrilies from Healaval, feminine head with good properties, excellent neck, shoulder, good topline & ribbing, mustard coat in good order, moved soundly;

3 McLeod’s Dawsholm Meg Merrilies from Healaval.

LB (5,2a)

1 Morris’ Hendell Tassel at Pennywave, very nice sort with balanced but a little plain head. Good forehand, length of neck, ribbing & topline. Could use quarters to better effect. In good coat order, sound;

2 Smith’s Somercloud Starprize at Glencandy, good shape, topline, coat & condition. A little tight in front & needs to drop in brisket, sound;

3 Bedborough’s Pitfirrane Sweet Myrtle.

OB (4)

The best class of the day. Just like buses – you wait all day & then three come together!

1 Green’s Inzievar Rose Gold for Abbeywater, lovely, typical mustard of balance, excellent head properties with powerful underjaw & pleasing expression, lovely front & forehand, well ribbed back with good topline & body shape, excellent coat & condition, covered the ground with great reach to fore. CC which makes her up;

2 Shore’s Ch Swanwillow Savannah, very close up & of excellent quality, type & balance all though, presented in excellent coat, showing very well. A touch big bodied & softer in condition than 1 were the deciding factors. RCC;

3 Deacon’s Ch Cassencarrie Habit Forming.
