CESKY JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 19

Thank you for an interesting day. The Cesky are better in some ways and worse on others than the last time I judged. They were generally more positive and most seemed comfortable in the ring. Back lines were very varied and some were flatter than they should have been, that curved run from the neck, through the slightly arched loin to a low(ish) set tail is a hallmark of the breed and should always be at the back of the mind. Mouths were generally good but some lower jaws were narrow with the subsequent crowding of teeth. Size seems to have increased beyond what I would have expected. Coats were odd. Cesky should have a silky coat with a sheen and slight wave; exhibitors who managed all three were in a minority; the presentation style of leaving heavily coated legs and elbows certainly does no favours. Type or show dog has always been the question of the breed and until its sorted the Cesky will remain rather stagnant. Some breeds are considered past their best by their fifth or sixth birthday. My Bitch CC and Reserve CC were approaching (and over) nine. Both outstanding specimens of the breed and a tribute to the longevity a Cesky can have in the showring and to their owners.

Puppy Dog

1) Tobijanskiâ s Janski Duggee A baby with good head ear, eye and enthusiasm in spades. When he settled he moved well and positively. Straight front, parallel behind, decent topline. Best Puppy.

Junior Dog

1) Tobijanskiâ s Janski Burgurovski Silver grey with good head shape correct ear and eye. Good crest of neck, nice outline stands well but inclined to flatten a little on the move. Moves with good reach and drive would like a little more muscle behind. RCC

Post Graduate Dog

1) Dukeâ s Janski Theodore. Bigger dog with strong head and jaw, good angulation, excellent drive behind with good reach and straight front.

2) Hallingâ s Grancek Slavny Sandor A little long in back and tends to stand flat with good angulation and muscle behind, moved with drive but would have liked more reach

Limit Dog

1)Rusbyâ s Placido Forever Mine. Strong jaw good eye and ear on a moderate neck tended to flatten on the move. Movement was difficult to assess as he loved looking up at the handler so his balance was upset

0pen Dog

1)England and Burrageâ s Ch Ashleyheathâ s Black Thunder. Nice sized dog who looks at you right. Good outline standing and on the move, covers the ground with good reach and drive, CC & BOB

2) Marrettâ s Idefix DayBreak At Gayteckels Bigger dog with good head, strong jaw on a good crest of neck. A little longer in back, moved well, good angulation behind

3) Taylors Janski Ossie Jones at Polede Good crest of neck, stands well but never really settled on the move needs more reach and drive

Veteran Dog or Bitch

1) Taylorâ s Eâ french Connection Du Champ Dâ eole Via Polede A bitch of excellent shape, size & topline. Ears, mouth, head shape good. She moves well but can be hesitant which caused me a quick mental debate but decided her type just had to have the CC.

2) Burrages Ch Vandell Sweet Song Sametova (B) Very elegant and with good shape and size. Flowing topline, absolutely beautiful but decided to move rather ponderously. Considered inviting her back for Res CC

3) Tobijanski Ch Janski Ceskasson Blue Moon Positive moving dog with a good crest of neck, excellent coat but decided his topline for the day was flat despite the best efforts of his handler.

Minor Puppy Bitch

1) Pearsonâ s Zvonenka Hamentashen At Winoski A baby on her first outing. Fine head with a good mouth ear and eye good crest of neck. Movment never really settled she was having too much of a good time.

Puppy Bitch

1) Pearsonâ s Zvonenka Hamentashen At Winoski

Junior Bitch

1) Rusbyâ s Placido Karisma Pleasing head with a correct ear and eye. Good crest of neck and rise in the topline but flattens over the loin. Good rear angulation with drive behind but needs more confidence on the move .

Limit Bitch

1) Rusbyâ s Placido Justa Diamond. Good size bitch, nice crest of neck running into a good topline, moved with reach and drive

2) Burrageâ s Komidion Prima Donna of Sametova. Lovely head, good crest of neck, a little long in back, did not settle fully on the move 3)Fewingsâ Komidion Passionato. Nice backline moderate neck but lacked any confidence on the move

0pen Bitch

1) Burrageâ s Komidion Night Music at Sametova. Good skull, ear and eyes, nice run of neck to shoulder, good body shape, lovely size, moved soundly with powerful hindquarters. ResCC.

2) Harrisâ s Kessima Magic. Expertly handled and prepared, showed well, moved soundly with drive and reach, good muscle behind, an absolute picture to look at but a big girl by anybodyâ s interpretation.

3) Tobijanskiâ s Ch Janski Ultra Violet. Nice head, correct eye and ear . Good length of neck and run in to shoulder, lovely bitch that moved with drive and reach
