Bath 12 Judge

CESKY BATH 12 Judge: Mr R Marett CESKY JUDGE BATH 12 CESKY TERRIER I was pleased with my entry for my first Ch show appointment and happy with my main winners. There was a large variety of type, especially in the bitches. I have a few concerns, including the state of the dogs teeth, the majority of Ceskys had dirty teeth. Toplines varied considerably with few having a gentle rise over the loin and some either having a level topline or a straight topline rising to the loin - these issues could be resolved if the body length is focused upon as the main suspects were longer in the body and did not maintain a decent height/length ratio. Spring of rib was poor in some classes. Some heads are also becoming too broad or too long. PD (1) 1 Fraser's Grancek Nezbedny Nornik, nice size. Tail carriage could be better which spoilt his profile, head a little broad for size. Body in good proportion, good earset. Moved well coming but could be better going away. PGD (3) 1 Tobijanski's Talyot Gwasenaethau I Janski, slightly smaller than preferred. Head not too broad, good length of neck, good topline, nice drive from the rear, tail carried well, matured well from the youngster I saw. OD (7) 1 Taylor's Polede Lforluka, correct topline, good angulation, nicely balanced. Earset could be better. Head not too broad but could be slightly shorter in length. Good spring of rib. Preferred his profile to the bitch but lost out on his shoulder placement and head. BD; 2 Withers' Captain Crochet du Champ d'Eole, topline could be better. Good angulation, head not too broad & better than 1. Could be ribbed slightly further back. Moved well. RBD; 3 Taylor's Fr Ch Duffy du Champ d'Eole avec Polede. PB (3) 1 Harris' Lastarean Knezna Lenka of Kessima, nice head, good earset - better than 2, good movement, nice angulations, nice topline for age, maturing well. Look forward to seeing her in the future. BP; 2 Withers' Talyot Hera at Pajantick, very feminine bitch. Topline too prominent with too much dip at the withers. Well muscled. A bit straight in front. Good movement; 3 Adams' Grancek No Nazdar. PGB (8) Hardest class of the day with lots of variety in type, quality and maturity. 1 Taylor's E'french Connection du Champ d'Eole via Polede, head could be slightly more feminine. Good length of body but slightly too tall. Good bone, best topline in the class, well muscled. A bit too broad in rear. Good movement, won on her profile. RBB; 2 Harris' Pendevour Pollyanna of Kessima, nice topline but lost it slightly on the move. Very feminine. Good length of foreface but head could be broader, easrset a tad high. Well muscled, good in profile. Not as happy as I would like on the move; 3 Burrage's Komidion Night Music at Sametova. OB (6) 1 Tobijanski's Janski Celtic Ceska, different type to my main winners, but good height/length ratio, nice topline, head not too broad, nice earset, well angulated, good bone, good spring of rib, tail carried well. Movement could have had more drive but may have been affected by the heat as I have seen her move better. Presentation first class as always. Won BOB on her better head & shoulder placement. BB, BOB; 2 Harris' Pendevour Pheel The Music of Kessima, slightly taller on leg, earset could be better. Nicer in profile than 3, good drive from rear. Head slightly long compared to width; 3 Burrage's Vandell Sweet Song of Sametova ShCM. Russell Marrett |
