CAIRN JUDGE SKC 10

Cairn Terriers

My first appointment to give CCs. The day dawned misty but turned to ‘August’ type weather, the rings had longish grass which hid the dips & it being the third day & third in the ring handlers had some ‘fun’ with their charges when on the move making it a real challenge to see clear movement.

PD (2)

1 Confue’s Anjofra I’m Not Going, dark copper brindle 7½ months pup, full of promise, good strong teeth set in correct scissor bite, loved his expression, wicked eye saying ‘what’s next’, stretchy neck, good lay of shoulder, nice forechest, ribs, level back with good tailset, hindquarters developing into themselves, once settled moved well. BP;

2 Percy’s Winetta Sir Percy, r/br, masculine head, dark eye, good scissor bite, enough reach of neck. A squarer type to 1, moved OK.

JD (2,1a)

1 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Fable, gr/br, expressive head, strong jaw, good length neck, front OK, strong quarters, once settled moved OK.

PGD (5)

Strong class.

1 Mears’ Glenmear Marauder, dark brindle medium proportioned male, classic head, everything in proportion, ears, eyes, jaw, wickedest expression, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, good forechest, straight front, balanced body to leg, strong supply hindquarters, well set tail, good straight jacket. He is such a naughty character, gives his handler a nightmare of a time, eventually showed me his true driving movement. CC;

2 Shopland’s Cherrycrack Blackadder, dark gr/br, quality male, excellent head, dark eye, mischievous expression, good stop, strong scissor bite, good reach of neck, forechest, good lay of shoulder, straight back, tail carriage, strong quarters moved well. A very close decision between these two. RCC;

3 Catto’s Birselaw Follow Your Dream.

LD (0).

OD (3,2)

1 Smith’s Ch Rocasovale Razzle Dazzle, gr/br, well proportioned, larger male, good head & expression, strong bone throughout, in good jacket, moved OK, alone but a quality dog.

PB (5,4)

Good class.

1 Miller’s Cornton Badger’s Hope, cr/br 11 months young lady, feminine head, in proportion, lovely dark eye, good scissor bite, correct forechest, shoulder into good front, enough bone for size, although coat not at its best of correct texture, moved well, a quality girl to go over. BPB;

2 Smith’s Anjofra Plum Tart at Rocasovale, r/br, what a livewire, all the same comments as above. Needs to slim off some weight to see true picture, really a bundle of fun requiring some skilled handling by handler;

3 Percy’s Winetta Miss Independent.

JB (3,1)

1 Miller’s Cornton Reay, gr/br, again a lovely girl to go over, good head, eye & mouth, reachy neck, medium body, enough length of leg for balance, very sound mover. Needs to make more of herself in challenges as she is a bitch of quality;

2 Osborn’s Tweslam Maid By Magic, foxy red girl, expressive head, dark eye, good mouth, legs in proportion to body, neat coat, moved well. Two lovely girls.

PGB (5,2)

Trio of lovely girls.

1 Confue’s Anjofra Welcome To La La Land, red with dark points, expressive head, good proportions, excellent mouth, reachy neck, good lay of shoulder, front straight, good forechest, sound body to muscled hindquarters, moved out well, lovely girl. Started to flag in heat for challenge;

2 Osborn’s Tweslam Winter Magic, r/br, lovely expressive head, comments very similar to 1, a more compact lady, correct coat, lovely texture, moved well;

3 Berrecloth’s Sybster Sonja.

LB (6,2)

Class full of quality.

1 Templeton’s Larchlea Can’t Remember, dark brindle lady, very expressive head, in perfect proportion, good scissor bite, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good forechest, straight front, body in proportion to leg length, muscled quarters, no over exaggeration, tailset dead on, moved with energy & drive flowing over ground with ease, never stopped showing, a really true spirited cairn, worked so well with her handler. In the big ring she carried on showing her heart out never stopping, a lady well worth remembering. CC & BOB;

2 Wren’s Larchlea Light My Fire, gr/br, very good quality, similar remarks as above, her day will come, well handled;

3 Burgin’s Noncom Lucy Locket.

OB (4)

1 Catto’s Birselaw Bewitched, gr/cr/br, beautiful expressive head, scissor bite, well set on neck into well laid shoulders, good forechest, straight front, correct ribs, muscled rear, good tailset. Only criticism perhaps a shade long in body. Moved with ease, kept her profile so well, worked with her handler well. RCC;

2 Wren’s Larchlea Spirit In The Sky, another lovely girl, gr/br, expressive head, dark eye, clean scissor bite, good reach of neck, well laid shoulder, in fact same remarks as 1. Coat a shade short. Moved & showed well for her handler;

3 Burgin’s Curtisey Foreign Affair at Carradine.
