CAIRN JUDGE RICHMOND 12

Cairn Terriers

This was the last year for Cairn CCs at Richmond, sadly another ch show that we have lost in the south.

Temperaments were good. Movement though was very mixed, some excelled with good drive but there were a few loose fronts which may tighten with the appropriate exercise & a number with close rear movement & lacking in drive. I was surprised to find quite a few exhibits with narrow fronts & lacking in spring of rib.

VD (1)

1 Grainger’s Ch Devil In Disguise, masculine 7 years red in excellent coat & condition, lovely head, good reach of neck into level topline, moved well.

MPD (4)

1 Waugh’s Tribannon War Dance, smart cream with coat of good texture, level topline into nice tailset, head furnishings still coming, good turn of stifle, moved well once settled;

2 Coffell’s Ometto I Am The One And Only, similar type to 1, cream with desirable dark points, lovely furnished head, nicely balanced, moved & showed well, only just 6 months. Lost out to 1 on maturity, one to watch for the future;

3 Keeves’ Seveek Dare To Be Red.

PD (4)

1 BP, Currie’s Stirlingview Stunning, r/br, good length of neck into level topline held well on move, good head of correct proportions & lovely expression, good turn of stifle, well muscled, moved with drive;

2 Bateman & Gompel’s Carradine Terries Tipple, wh/br, striking head, level topline, good turn of stifle, moved well. Just preferred balance of 1;

3 Robinson’s Cuckmere Ma Tickle.

JD (1)

A. PGD (7)

1 Roberts’ Cannwood Cut Above, smart cream with the desired dark points, nicely balanced, good spring of rib, level topline, well presented coat of correct texture, moved well once settled;

2 Byrne & Inett’s Carradine Brian The Lion, gr/br, good front & nice spring of rib, moved OK but preferred balance of 1;

3 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Renshaw There And Back Again.

LD (5)

1 Confue’s Anjofra Im Not Going, nicely presented dark brindle, lovely head & expression, good length of neck into level topline. Decided he wasn’t going to fully co-operate with his handler which let him down in the challenge;

2 Thompson’s Castleline Bang On Time, r/br, lovely masculine head, striking dark mask, super coat of correct texture, moved well;

3 Morley’s Kedvaiy Locamotion.

OD (3)

Three worthy champions, slightly different types, each well balanced & each excelling in movement.

1 CC & BOB, Braybrook’s Ch Cloverbrook Codebreaker, striking gr/br, well balanced, exudes type, lovely head & expression, good length of neck into level topline, good spring of rib, moved with drive & showed well;

2 RCC, Robinson’s Ch Cruzo Bilbo Baggins, smart cream with desirable dark points. Not as masculine in head as 1. Good length of neck into level topline, moved & showed well;

3 Felters & Rumen’s Ch Landbuck Tillisch.

VB (1)

1 BV, Robinson’s Ch Cruzo Cinderella, 7 years dark brindle, lovely head & expression, good length of neck & spring of rib, nicely balanced, moved well.

MPB (3)

1 Felters & Rumen’s Seveek Red Gala at Landbuck, red baby, excellent quality coat, nicely bodied, level topline, moved with drive;

2 Yates & Johnson’s Pendley Hester, pretty feminine wh/br, nice front, good length of neck into level topline, real showgirl. Just preferred rear action of 1;

3 Brown’s Bencana Bold As Brass.

PB (3)

1 BPB, Bateman & Inett’s Carradine In Love With Amy, lovely balanced wh/br, desirable dark points, lovely head & expression, good reach of neck into level topline, moved with drive & showed well. Considered her for BP but new coat needed to complete picture, only a matter of time, one to watch;

2 Currie’s Stirlingview Surprise, lovely feminine r/br, not yet as mature as 1, pretty head, nicely balanced, good front, level topline, moved & showed well;

3 Osborn’s Tweslam Thistle Be Magic.

JB (3)

1 Burnett’s Kilnyard The Best Of Luck, wh/br with desirable dark points, nicely balanced, good topline & tailset, moved well once cooperating with handler;

2 Laker’s Wizoz Miss Backchat, red with dark points, pretty feminine head, profuse coat of correct texture.

PGB (5)

1 Dolan’s Castleline Peggy Sue, cream, well presented feminine bitch, nicely bodied, moved & showed well;

2 Hawkins’ Mazlar Once Upon A Dream, cream, similar in type to 1, pretty head, nice length of neck, level topline & quality coat of correct texture, moved & showed well;

3 Roberts’ Cannwood One Moment In Time.

LB (5)

Lovely class to judge, with close decisions & places could change on another day.

1 Yates & Johnson’s Pendley Playaway, gr/br, nicely balanced feminine bitch, well presented, good spring of rib, good length of neck into level topline held on the move, good tailset & turn of stifle, moved & showed well;

2 Waugh & Carlton-Smith’s Tribannon Guardian Angel, r/br, lovely feminine head with mischievous expression, good length of neck into level topline, moved well;

3 Warne’s Cloverbrook Carousel at Spirebrooke.

OB (9) Another class of lovely bitches who on another day could change places. 1 CC, Dolan’s Ch Glenrood Masqerade, well balanced feminine wh/br, well put together, good front, nice spring of rib, level topline & good tailset, nicely presented, moved & showed well;

2 RCC, Harding’s Ch Cannwood Remember Holly, feminine cream, lovely head & expression with desirable dark points, good reach of neck & level topline, good turn of stifle, moved & showed well, coat well presented. Felt she was lacking a little of her renowned sparkle today;

3 Braybrook’s Cloverbrook Xtra Factor.
