CAIRN PAIGNTON 14 Judge: Mr W Cammish BEST OF BREED : 1399 SHANNON, Miss B M & STORR Mr D Brenndarcy Dizzee Rascal
CAIRN JUDGE PAIGNTON 14 Cairn Terriers Not a huge entry but strong competition in the higher classes, especially bitches with some challenging decisions. Pleased to find no light eyes or bad mouths but disappointed that quite a few exhibits were lacking in bone & heads still need to improve. MPD (4,2a) 1 Alexander’s Stirlingview Shake The Dice, cream pup just over 6 months. Very confident showman for one so young. Nicely balanced, level topline, good tailset. Just needs to develop in head which should come in time; 2 Kinchin’s Pennidazzle All Spruced Up, dark brindle, almost 9 months with profuse coat. Typy but could not match showmanship or movement of winner. PD (3,1) 1 Peers’ Tweedisle Relight My Fire, red with a good head with well defined stop. Movement good when settled. Just needs to body up; 2 Keeves’ Seveek Double Dice, dark brindle in good coat. Good length of body but rather long in muzzle for my liking. JD (2) 1 Parker-Tucker’s Uniquecottage Winsford, r/br with very good head & eye. Well muscled quarters. Nice outline. Gave his handler a hard time but when settled was able to assess his good movement 2 Paige’s Glenrood Trojan Prince, dark brindle in good harsh jacket with a pleasing profile. Showed very well but could not match head of winner. GD (4,1) 1 Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Limited Edition, clear red in very good coat with a good outline. Kept his topline on the move. Excellent head with defined stop & typical expression but, to be honest, for me he is perhaps a little too pretty for a male; 2 Drew’s Tycadno Thriller at L’Artiste, nice wh/br with a good head. Good length of body & moved very well. Just lost out to winner on topline in the final analysis; 3 Saich’s Lindcoly I Believe I Can Fly. LD (6,1) 1 Shaw’s Honeyhall Headboy, very impressive Cairn, r/br with the head that I was looking for with most appealing dark mask & ears & classic expression. Correct amount of neck into sloping shoulders making for excellent outline. Plenty of daylight. Just enough coat which was harsh. Pleased to award him the CC; 2 Currie’s Stirlingview Superhero, another impressive cream Cairn with the best of outlines. In very good coat & condition. Showed & moved very well. Just did not have the intense expression of 1; 3 Parker-Tucker’s Uniquecottage Jumbuck. OD (2,1) 1 Thomas’ Tycadno I Spy, clear red in full bloom. Typical head & expression, harsh jacket, lovely outline & movement first class. A lovely example of the breed. RCC & close up for CC. VB (0). MPB (5,2) 1 Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Fortune Teller, 7 months wh/br. Good length of back. Plenty of neck, nice dark eye. Moved OK, promising pup; 2 Currie’s Stirlingview Spin The Dice, just over 6 months brindle. Another in good coat. Nice make & shape but needs to tighten in topline; 3 Kinchin’s Pennidazzle Tuesday’s Child. PB (2) 1 Robinson’s Cruzo Capriole, 11 months wh/br with a lovely outline. Liked her head & eye. Good neck & shoulders. Covered the ground really well. Very promising. BP; 2 Firth’s Cairngold Clara, r/br, same age as winner but did not look quite so mature. Pretty & feminine in very good coat & condition but at the moment did not have quite the length of leg as 1. Time is on her side. JB (5) 1 Owen’s Caldwell Call The Shots, very pretty cream who I really liked. The best of heads with neat ears. Dead level back with correct tailset. Good quality coat. Presented & handled to perfection. Very close up for RCC; 2 Dolan’s Glenrood Magic Spell, dark brindle, so typical of this kennel presenting a lovely profile. Varminty expression & a good mover. One to watch; 3 Marshall’s Doonrae Million Dollar Baby. PGB (6) 1 Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Dizzee Rascal, exquisite clear red. Most beautiful head with enchanting expression. No mistaking the gender of this lovely bitch, ultra feminine. Immaculate front. Harsh jacket at its best. Neck, shoulders, topline first class. Very good mover. I loved her. CC & BOB; 2 Keeves’ Seveek I Dreamed A Dream, brindle in good order. Liked her head, length of back & movement; 3 Smee’s Malmay Sunshine Sally. LB (2) 1 Smith’s Anjofra Plum Tart at Rocasovale, good headed r/br, just coming in to good coat. Moved very well when settled. Pity she was carrying a bit too much weight; 2 Braybrook’s Cloverbrook Creating Waves, very pretty cream & appealing type but her coat felt a little soft today & her topline let her down. OB (5) A strong & challenging class to judge with some lovely bitches to assess. 1 Osborn’s Tweslam Thistle Be Magic, r/br with classic outline. Excels in neck, shoulder & strong quarters. Lovely type of Cairn. Won this class on her beautiful movement. RCC; 2 Alexander’s Ir Ch Stirlingview Peggy Sue, r/br of undoubted quality. Very good head with deep stop & the required dark eye. Good mouth. Plenty of daylight under this lovely bitch. Covered the ground really well. Liked her a lot; 3 Clarke’s Lentrica Sweet Sensation. VB (1) 1 Clarke’s Ch Conundrum Sweeter For Me for Lentrica, stood alone but what a lovely example of the breed. Just over 8 years but showed & moved like a youngster. In very good coat & condition. The owner should be very proud of her. BILL CAMMISH |
