CAIRN JUDGE CRUFTS CRUFTS 15

Cairn Terriers

I was honoured & privileged to judge this wonderful entry. I was pleased that there were so few absentees. My thanks to my stewards, Des & Rob, who were superb, everything ran smoothly.

I found some plain heads lacking stop & with long forefaces. However, there were some excellent heads with everything I was looking for.

There was great variation in coat quality & presentation. Some exhibits desperately needed to have dead hair removed to allow for a new coat to come through. There were dirty coats (unacceptable). Over presenting the Cairn may look pretty but spoils the overall look.

I found some mouths with incorrect bite, missing teeth & dirty teeth.

Having said that there was lots of quality in the ring today.

The big ring enabled movement to be assessed easily & very few disappointed in this respect. It was noisy & there was a lot going on around the ring & I was so pleased most just got on with the show.

Temperaments were excellent throughout & I didn’t find too many oversized dogs.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day; thank you.

Amused to see my title on the awards board "Mrs”!
