CAIRN JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 16

Cairn Terriers

It was a pleasure to judge at this well organised show the hospitality was much appreciated.

Thank you City Of Birmingham CS for inviting me, thanks also to the stewards. I appreciated the entry – the lower classes were sparse which is worrying, let’s hope there are some at home waiting to make their debut! Hind movement is still a concern many are close with little if no drive, some tummy tucking! There were a couple lacking forechest, heads were on the whole good, several round close together eyes, most were presented in good clean correct coats, mouths were good. Thank you exhibitors for your support.

VD (1)

1 Bateman & Sach’s Dandy Boy Spud, a favourite of mine carrying his age well, presented in correct coat, has a beautiful head, moved soundly delighted to see him win. VG4, very well done!

MPD (1)

1 Ball’s Lentrica Let’s Dance at Calamondin, correctly constructed, size OK, good head, neat well set on ears, alert expression, moved well when he settled, standing well forward, good coat texture, topline will firm with age.

PD (1)

1 Waugh’s Tribuns Licorice Coin at Tribannon, nearly 12 months well up to size, good head, neat ears, clean shoulders, good length of upper arm, well muscled rear, tight feet, balanced outline, could be enhanced with tidying coat which is of good texture, moves true with drive. BPD.

JD (2)

1 Parker Tucker’s Unique Cottage Gold Sherdon, red boy, full of breed type, good coat, needs more head furnishing, liked his size & outline, moved OK when he settled;

2 Peers’ Tweedisle Tugman, good head, correct bite, well made throughout, just preferred the length of back on 1, outline could be enhanced by improving his tail trimming.

GD (2,1a)

1 Catto’s Birselaw Stay With Me, lovely outline standing well forward on good forechest, masculine head, keen expression, well set on shoulders, good length upper arm, firm level topline kept on the move, well muscled, full coat of correct texture, true movement out & back. RCC.

PGD (6,1)

1 Mears’ Glenmear McIntyre, gorgeous head, real varminty expression, lovely eye, split coat at the moment! Correctly made, well boned strong dog who moved much better in the class than in the challenge – he is a handful!

2 Keeves’ Seveek I Spied That Dream, lovely expressive head, deep stop, neat well placed ears, good forechest, level topline, tailset OK, nice outline, wayward with his tail on the move & not cooperating with his handler, lucky to get his 2nd place over 3;

3 Miller’s Cornton Dark Corrie.

LD (6,1)

1 Shannon & Storr’s Brendarcy Lord Marmaduke avec Strathgarten, wheaten, lovely head, neat dark ears, topline & tailset OK, good angulation, moved well, in good coat, liked his size;

2 Confue & Pavlova’s Anjofra Roulette Rousse, silver brindle in full coat, correct head, neat ears, standing well forward, good lay of shoulder, moved true, topline needs to strengthen;

3 Parker Tucker’s Unique Cottage Winsford.

OD (3)

1 Hogarty’s Cadagio Don’t Stop Me Now, r/br, excellent type, beautiful head, standing well forward on good feet, liked his topline & tailset, well muscled & sound throughout, moved true with ease, put down to perfection, lovely dog. CC & BOB;

2 Innett, Harrison, King & Leighton’s Ch Carradine George Flies with Harkinleigh, beautiful head, keen expression, good shoulders, level topline, well presented, moved with drive, not so positive behind as 1, worthy Ch;

3 Kinton’s Woodthorpe I Know The Code.

GCD (0).

VB (1)

1 Torpey’s Anglyairn The Real Thing, 8½ years, looking good for her age, enjoying her day out.

MPB (3)

1 Felters & Rumens’ Lentrica Fame at Landbuck, very pretty head, nice eye, good quality coat, topline & tailset OK, she moved OK in the class when she settled, loved her joie de vivre, came into her own in the challenge for BPB, considered her but Cloudbursting had the edge with maturity;

2 Firth’s Lentrica Black Star for Cairngold, bigger than her sister (Fame), nice expression, neat ears, good front, well constructed, correct coat, perfectly schooled, moving out & back OK;

3 Peers’ Tweedisle’s Bright Star.

PB (3,1)

1 Shannon & Storrs’ Brendarcy Cloudbursting, full red coat, lovely head, correct eye & bite, standing over good forechest, plenty of neck, level topline, went very nicely for her handler. BP, loved her!

2 Clayton’s Carradine Here Comes Holly, red, good coat coming, sweet head, sound throughout, well muscled, hind movement not so positive as 1 & carrying a little too much weight – needs time!

JB (2)

1 Catto’s Briselaw Paige Turner, wh/br, lovely feminine head & expression, good neck shoulders, topline & tailset, well muscled, moved very well, full correct coat, attentive to her handler;

2 Parker Tucker’s Unique Cottage Florey, eyecatching cream with dark points, lovely head, but lacking furnishings, soundly made, coat coming, difficult to assess her movement, very nice young bitch.

GB (2)

1 Williams’ Seveek Country Sunset, red in full coat which needs some tidying, classic head with nice eye, good bite, standing true, strong quarters, moved well with drive, liked her balance, a little overweight;

2 Osborn’s Tweslam Gimme Gimme Magic, lovely head & eye, correct bite, good forechest, level topline, similar outline to 1 but not so positive in hind movement.

PGB (5,1)

1 Miller’s Cornton Rosemarie, liked her overall balance, expressive head & nice eye, ears well set on, good neck & clean shoulders, level topline, correct tailset, honest bitch, out moved others in the class today, sadly gave up showing in the challenge;

2 Osborn’s Tweslam Born To Bewitch, red, lovely head, good forechest, keeps her good topline on the move, well muscled, not so positive on the move;

3 Peers’ Tweedisle Guinivere.

LB (5,1)

A lovely class of quality bitches.

1 Clarke & Carter’s Lentrica Dolly Daydream, a lovely bitch who is surely a pleasure to show, does not disappoint on the table, maturing well, firm topline on the move, true coming & going, put down to perfection. RCC;

2 Keeves’ Seveek Hopes And Dreams, another quality bitch, beautiful head, neat ears, well constructed, good hard coat, moved true but never settled – shame! Liked her a lot;

3 Waugh’s Andrum Bright Side.

OB (4)

1 Thomas’ Tycadno Morning Star, wh/br in good coat, beautiful head, lovely expression, correct neck & shoulders, plenty of forechest, in hard condition, moved true with drive holding her topline, spot on presentation, needs to watch her waistline, thoroughly deserved the CC;

2 Waugh’s Tribannon Minuet, wheaten, most beautiful head & expression, well constructed, level topline & good tailset, one of the better movers on the day, coat needs attention, very nice bitch;

3 Confue’s Anjofra Mad About Me.

GCB (1)

1 Byrne’s Little Miss Tonka, in such good order for her 9 years, lovely coat & so well presented, a credit to her owner.
