MINIATURE BULL SOUTHERN COUNTIES 12 Judge(s): MR F KANE Miniature Bull Terriers I enjoyed the good entry & the very sporting atmosphere of the exhibitors. It is easy to see that they enjoy their breed & I can understand why – they are wonderful characters. There were some very good youngsters here who showed so well. While I realise the size description in the Standard is the ideal & we can exercise some tolerance, especially in recent times, there were a few exhibits which were beyond what I could accept in their class. While appreciating their other virtues, I also appreciated that size is an important element in this breed. PD (3) Two good puppies here. 1 Quayardson Sir Barclay at Darlou, exciting 6 months white, lovely lines & terrific quarters, good skull, eye & ears. Tail a little high in carriage. Good angulation, good movement, brimming with quality. RBD; 2 Bullypins Avenger for Kirbsea, beautiful headed tri of 9 months, perhaps better downface than 1, but not quite the angulation at either end. Good body. 1 better in front & more forward in chest & rib. JD (2) 1 Quayardson Sir Alfred, 17 months tri with excellent head, good fill in, good ears. Small dentition fault & needs a little more upper arm. Good rear. I would prefer a little less of him all round. PGD (1) 1 Belcanto Torreador, white with head patch, a little short on leg for balance. Has a lot of substance, good head. Rise over loin a little exaggerated. Good head profile, eye & ears. Movement could be more purposeful. LD (0). OD (4) 1 Ch/Ir Ch Badlesmere Brabazon in Kofyn, 6 years dog with type in a small frame, easy winner of this class although his front movement is a little wide. Good head profile, correct bite, held his topline well. BOB & G3; 2 Decadence Defender, bigger tri dog with excellent head & good ears, a lot of substance. Movement at both ends could be better; 3 Badlesmere Beast Released. V (1) 1 Badlesmere Bedazzled for Seaquest, 11 years bitch who is a wonderful credit to the breed. Firm, sound & full of type, still moving very well, excellent head & eye. Just a touch long for balance, but a lovely bitch. PB (3) Two good puppies. 1 Nabulltique Holy Moley, 8 months tri with excellent body, good lines throughout, balanced & typy, good size, sound in chest & body, good head shape. Ears a little large, close bite but has a lot of type. Handler could make more of her, but the bitch has a great temperament & obviously is very co-ordinated. BB; 2 Quayardson Lady Bella, quality 6 months bitch. A little leggier at the moment, but has better downface than 1. Not quite the let down of rear. Has quality & should come on well. JB (2) 1 Decadence Diamond, 12 months white with excellent head & eye, good body, used her quarters well. Front structure & movement could be better; 2 Graymor Galliano by Byzantine, 16 months bitch with beautiful head & the best front of the day so far. Not happy in the conditions with tail down – a great pity. PGB (3) 1 Kofyn Kontessa von Hofstetter, white of good type & size. Could have more angulation & use her quarters better, but her size was a deciding factor here; 2 Olympusbulys Alaena, beautiful Bull Terrier with a wonderful head & excellent movement, good lines, full of type & quality. Just felt there was too much of her for a Miniature. LB (3) 1 Seaquest Ballkiss Angel, shapely 6 years bitch of good size & substance, good rear action. Just a little wide in front. Clean head which could have more fill. Good eye & ear; 2 Olympusbulys Gladerial, coloured bitch with a shapely body, good outline, very good head. Front action a little wide, too big for my interpretation of the Standard. OB (4) 1 Decadence Dragonfly, white bitch with a lot of quality, shapely, beautiful head & eye, very good movement, good angulation, scored on head & front movement. The puppy bitch was a little more compact & had a better topline, just pipped her in a close decision. Lovely bitch. RBB; 2 Ch White Eyed And Legless in Kofyn, better size than 1 & good body, but not the fill in foreface or front action of 1; 3 Badlesmere Bookworm. FRANK KANE |
