MINIATURUE BULL JUDGE SKC 15

Miniature Bull Terrier

Although the numbers were typically low for this show, absentees were light & I was delighted with the overall quality & thank everyone for making the journey. Most tipped the measure to some extent, ranging from very slight to 2” plus, presenting the usual challenge of striking a balance across type, construction & size, with a number of mouth faults adding to the mix.

PD (2)

1 Thain’s Warbonnet William Wallace, handsome b/w, a strong well-filled head & good expression, with unfortunate mouth fault. Well balanced with a decent front & moving with drive, putting in a good performance for this, his first show;

2 Nelson’s Badlesmere Blown Away at Stemone, even younger baby of only 6 months. Although not the substance of the winner & a little uncoordinated at this stage, he is shapely & has everything to play for.

JD (2)

1 Llewelyn’s Bullypins Klassikos, a corking b/br/w marking a step-change in breed type. A thumping head, although would like a little more length, which is beautifully arced, oozing width & fill. An unusual mouth, his canines & jaws are correct, although some upper incisors lean inwards. Would like smaller eye. He’s foursquare & very shapely, being balanced with a good topline & shoulder, moving well both ways. CC & BOB;

2 Vicker’s Lafenice Ross Gellert from Duvessa, masculine r/w with a good strong head with incorrect mouth. Not as compact as the winner & would like a little more length of upper arm. Shapely quarters with good bend of stifle, moving well both ways.

PGD (1)

1 White & Kokoba’s A Mini Rumpus Nanook Bear, imposing all-white with bags of bone & substance. A beautiful head, having arc, width, fill, depth & turn, with a level bite. Well-placed, dark eye & good ear placement present a punishing expression. A decent front, good feet & level topline into shapely quarters moving well both ways. He is a good 2” over the measure, when combined with his tremendous bone, substance & round chest creating the appearance of being larger still. Accepting that all dogs in contention were over the measure, size was therefore a matter of degree, with his superior type, masculinity & substance compensating for his extra height. RCC.

LD (5,1a)

1 White & Kokoba’s A Mini Rumpus Red Panda, masculine r/w with bags of bone & substance. Good ear carriage & expression with a lovely well filled & arced head, mouth a reverse scissor. Tips the measure & would like more length of neck & shorter back, but he has shapely quarters which he drives off, making him one of the better movers on the day;

2 Vickers’ Lafenice Tudor from Duvessa, well balanced b/w, with decent head, needing more arc. A perfect mouth, but would like a smaller & darker eye. A good neck & topline, moving well both ways.

OD (3)

A demanding class comprising three quality, but entirely different types.

1 Phillips’ Bullyon Back To The Measure, smart b/br/w with a good, strong head, just needing a tad more arc. His mouth is correct save for one tight canine. Although a bit lack-lustre in his performance, he has excellent quality, well balanced & moved well both ways;

2 Whittaker’s Wengormick Petite Pirate, tough call between 1 & 2. Upstanding white, shapely & well balanced, with greater good bone & substance. Masculine with a strong head, also needing a bit more arc, has a perfect mouth & also moved well. Little between them, with his little extra height just tipping the scales.

PB (0). JB (0).

PGB (3,2)

1 Barr’s Giffenbull Lady Luck, attractive white with strong feminine head & good expression. Reverse scissor bite, although canines correct. Well balanced with good topline in to shapely quarters, although close hocks making her a little disappointing behind.

LB (4)

1 Brommont- Lothary & McGregor’s Zozo Bonsai von Amadis, very attractive & well balanced b/br/w in lovely condition. A good head with arc, width & fill. A good expression marred a little by rather wide-set ears. Good neck, shoulder, front & topline, moving well both ways. CC;

2 Plumley & Wylie’s Tuskenada Anais Anais with Transcend, quality white with good shapely, feminine head & perfect mouth – would like smaller eye. When relaxed she displays a rather short foreleg affecting her topline, but hats off to a clever piece of handling, particularly in the line-up, where she was really on her toes, shortening her back nicely to secure the RCC.

OB (4,2)

1 Whittaker’s Wengormick Petite Playgirl, very feminine b/w, very well balanced, with good shoulder & topline – decent head in profile with a perfect mouth, just needing a bit more width. A good front & shapely quarters, moving well both ways;

2 Glass’ Angels Warriors Tiny Forever, quality & typy r/w with a good head in profile, with width & fill, unfortunately one in-standing canine. Foursquare, she moved well both ways, a close call for top spot, she just needs perk-up to make the most of her strong virtues.
