MINIATURE BULL JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 13

Miniature Bull Terriers

As always I enjoyed judging this breed. The dog & bitch classes were a bit thin on the ground until Limit & Open.

There always has to be a compromise as far as size is concerned. I had some big hefty boys, not easy to describe or think of as Miniatures. Mouths were good & movement was better than the last time I judged. Temperaments were excellent but one or two need table practice so that they relax fully when being gone over.

MPD (1)

1 Plumley & Workman’s Debully’s Danny Boy, 7 months white with eye patch, well filled head, good body & bone, clean coat, fit & well muscled, moved OK. Needs table training but full of goodwill. Already a big lad.

PD (1)

1 McGregor’s Merlindan Captain Chaos, 11 months, good head, lovely eye with that piercing glint. Well schooled showman who stood like a statue once he settled down. Fit body, good coat, well proportioned, held topline when moving. Last time I judged I gave his dam the RCC. RCC & BP.

JD (1)

1 Bell’s Quayardson Sir Barclay at Darlou, 15 months white, well up to size, good bone & muscletone, steady showman once on the floor but another who needs to get used to the table. Strong head, good spring of rib.

PGD (2)

1 Boyne’s Decadance Dauntless, white, good outline, clean & well presented coat, strong quarters, attractive head, typical jaunty Bull Terrier movement. Shade long cast.

LD (3)

1 Bennett’s Quayardson Sir Alfred, up to size but a good mover. Masculine head, strong body, excellent bone. Tail carriage rather gay on the move;

2 Presland & Vincent’s Kofyn Kunning Linguist, better size than 1 but only 15 months & looked a bit shelly in body. Pleasing head, good coat & condition, reasonable mover;

3 Manoli’s Belcanto Toreador.

OD (5)

1 Guerrero’s Am Ch Cambrias Cisco Kidd, impressed the moment he entered the ring. Quality head, completely filled intelligent eyes, strong fit body, well balanced, proper little stallion, very good topline & depth of body, strong quarters, good mover, showed himself to best advantage. CC & BOB;

2 Harrison’s Jenkir Thor, masculine head, strong body & bone, clean coat, well handled, moved with drive. Got a bit lazy & losing interest when standing;

3 Richardson’s Quayardson Sir Bertie.

MPB (1)

1 Gardner & Twyman’s Bullypins Mystique Into Laronbelle, 6 months, handled by a very competent young girl who had excellent rapport with her charge, both standing & moving. Feminine head & outlook, dark eyes, firm body, easy mover, keen showgirl.

PB (0).

JB (2)

1 Presland & Harrison’s Kofyn Kaught Red Handed by Jenkir, 15 months, litter sister to 2nd in LD. Nicely proportioned, good silhouette, carrying plenty of weight but this did not affect her movement. Quality head, deep & strong. Reluctant to use her ears. Good bone & outline, happy showgirl.

PGB (4)

1 Shaw’s Badlesmere Bourre, white with eye patches, most attractive, young bitch in excellent form, well rounded body, short back, good head & expression, well proportioned, steady showgirl who moved with a purpose;

2 Plumley & Workman’s Nabulltique Holy Moley, quality head, keen expression, well filled. Mouth fault. Lovely body, good bone, strong quarters, firm topline, focused showgirl, well handled & presented;

3 Nicholl’s Decadance Diamantra.

LB (6)

1 Shaw’s Badlesmere Bellarmine, I really liked this br/w, fit, hard & in sparkling form, very good head & expression, clean, well presented coat, good spring of rib, well bodied, good bone, switched on showgirl who kept it up right to the end. CC;

2 Wright’s Kofyn Kontessa Von Hofstetter, white with eye patch, most feminine, showed well standing & moved with animation. Good outline & proportions, sympathetically handled;

3 Goodwin’s Springridge Top Ticket for Spitewinter.

OB (6)

1 Llewellyn’s Bullypins Kalypso, keen as mustard, showed her head off. Athletic body, good outline & overall proportions, typical head, well muscled quarters, held topline on the go round, well handled & presented. Tail carriage too gay on the move. RCC;

2 McGregor’s Bullypins Millima of Merlindan, 5 years br/w, one I have judged & liked before. Dam of BP/RCC dog. Feminine head, dark eyes. Started off so well but went off the boil at the end & was a bit sluggish when asked to move again;

3 Presland & Vincent’s Ch White Eyed And Legless in Kofyn, completed a quality trio of bitches.
