Miniature Bull Terriers

Again a smallish entry but headed up by a very pleasing BOB. Again only one exhibit showing a problem of a slightly misplaced canine tooth which did not appear to me to be such as to cause the dog discomfort. Size is a continuing problem with a large number well over the height standard.

PD (1)

1 Ratcliff’s Aurmaru Homeward Bound, not a small puppy & needs time to finish in head. Good enough neck but doesn’t hold his outline well on the move around the ring. Enough round bone & OK for rib.

PGD (1)

1 Todd’s Bullyon Bonzos Measure, good head in profile though he could be stronger in foreface when viewed from the front. Ears not always carried close. He moved particularly well behind & OK in front with good parallel movement. Enough bone but not small. Tail well carried & enough spring of rib. RBD.

OD (3)

1 Phillips’ Bullyon Back To The Measure, very pleasing smart dog with good make & shape & pleasing typy outline. Not bad for size & moved particularly well behind with good drive. Good length of neck & correct firm backline, certainly in the breed ring. Well muscled behind & carried tail well. Good head when seen in profile & from the front & had good compact feet. Showed well in this class & for the challenge. BD & BOB;

2 B Bonzos Measure;

3 Woods’ Prince Guvnor at Kiltonthorpe.

PB (5,3a)

1 McGregor’s Gwenevere Merlindan von Amadis, very compact baby but needs time. Good outline & topline but tail carriage needs to settle. Also needs time to develop in head but was of the right shape of body though movement needs to tighten up a bit. BP;

2 Wright’s Hofstetter My Intimate, rather bigger type & not so good in head as 1. Good bone & correct upright pasterns. She too needs to move with more precision.

JB (3,1)

1 McGregor’s Grandopera Mockingbird of Merlindan, good compact type not too big. Not quite so good in head fill as 2 though OK seen in profile but much better in overall body outline with better tail carriage. Very pleasing shape & proportions. Good length of neck & good underline. Moved out well in front & behind & scored there over 2. Good short tail. BB;

2 O’Neill’s Badlesmere Betty Bagpuss with Khlolander, longer in backline & bigger all through with a somewhat high set tail. Well muscled behind but slightly out at stifles there. Good in head. Enough length of neck.

PGB (4,2)

1 Bennett & Pickering’s Quayardson Lady Delacour at Phunsize, though perhaps not quite the head of 2 she was shorter in back & presented a better outline. Good length of neck & moved out & back very well & rather better than 2 in that respect. RBB;

2 Armitage’s Diesirae Tribal Narcissus, in some ways better in head than 1 but longer cast in body & not so good in firmness of backline as 1. Very good quality round bone & correct upright pasterns. She could be better in hock & was slightly out at elbow.
