MINIATURE BULL CRUFTS 15 Judge(s): MRS S L GOODWIN BULL MINIATURE JUDGE CRUFTS 15 Miniature Bull Terriers Firstly, apologies for the lateness of this report, but I have mislaid my notes. Thank you to all the exhibitors, for giving me the honour to judge your dogs. It was indeed humbling for me, to receive a large quality entry, & I feel sure that on another day, my placements could change. I was delighted with the quality within the limit & the open class, dogs & bitches. Some points of concern: There were far too many misplaced canines & suspect patellas. Please breeders, while I’m not a judge to focus on the negatives, I do feel that misplaced canines are a health issue, as are patellas & need to be taken into consideration, during breeding programmes. I was thrilled to see my BOB make history, and to be placed 4th in a very strong terrier group, by a respected true terrier judge, Martin Phillips. DCC & BOB, Ch/Ir Grasco’s Honky Tonky, handled to perfection by Gerr Cox. A true showman & show dog. Rich r/br/w, in superb fit, coat & condition. Excellent head, width, depth and finish. Correct expression, well placed ears. Perfect large bite. Strong neck, straight front, well angulated in hindquarters, moved with drive, proud of his tail & could have more layback of shoulder. However, he could not be denied his placement. After a long journey, & a hard day’s exhibiting, this dog came out of the group, & enjoyed the fuss & the attention of a family with small children. True Mini temperament. I loved him; BCC, Brommont-Lothary’s Zozo Bonsai von Amadis, superb b/br/w bitch. Expertly & quietly handled. In excellent show condition. Ears could be better placed, but her feminine head has fill, turn & depth. Finished off with perfect large teeth. Firm neck, & good shoulder placement. Held topline on the move, standing on good firm feet. Excellent movement from well angulated hindquarters. Her first CC, but not, I feel, her last. Should easily become an English champion. VD 1 Dittrich’s Nigel The Warrior, excellent make & shape, b/br/w. I could not deny him this class. He has a super head shape, fill & turn with depth of underjaw. Superb expression. In good coat & condition. Lovely feet, held his topline on the move, from perfect shoulder placement & well angulated hindquarters. Pity about the mouth, he would have gone further. Superb movement; 2 Presland & Vincent’s Ch/Ir Ch Badlesmere Brabazon in Kofyn, well known champion, who I have awarded a CC to in the past, enjoying his day out today. PD 1 Llewellyn’s Bullypins Klassikos, b/br/w boy of good breed type. Eye could be smaller, but superb length of head, fill & turn. Well placed ears. Firm in front & shoulder. Held topline on the move. In superb condition. JD (6,2a) 1 Patzold’s Bonebusters Crackhead, b/br/w. Another good for breed type. Correct length to upper arm. Well filled head, correct expression, well placed in shoulder, held topline on the move. Moved out well. Promising; 2 Pinxteren’s Groovy Little Velvets Mr Confident, another promising exhibitor. Correct head, eye could have been smaller, so spoiling expression. Moved out well. Lovely temperament, well handled; 3 Nicholl’s Seaquest Smooth Operator for Andriona. PGD (8) 1 Cserfalvi-Young’s Ducassos Coeur De Lion, white boy, with red brindled head marks. I have long admired. Superb head properties, & correct bite. His handler needs to relax more, to show off the many qualities of this dog. Yes, he could benefit with more length of upper arm, however he is a powerful mover. He has much to offer the breed, for type & size & super temperament; 2 Kocaba & White’s A Mini Rumpus Nanook Bear, another promising dog, with an excellent head & expression. Moving out well. Nicely handled. Super temperament. LD (10,3) Wonderful class. 1 Preugschat’s Bullcreeks Bombastic, good breed type. Head has fill, turn & finish, well placed ears. Loved his expression. With correct mouth. Carrying a little too much weight, today, however, correct lay back of shoulder, well angulated in hindquarters, moved & handled well; 2 Whittaker’s Wengormick Petite Pirate, useful dog. Head could do with more fill, however, well placed ears, good expression, & another perfect bite. Correct shoulder placement, a little over measure, moved with drive, expertly handled, in good condition; 3 Boyne’s Decadance Dauntless at Boannadeen. OD (10) Another class of quality. The first four could change places. However, only one first place, & that was 1 Scotton’s Ch/Ir Grasco’s Honky Tonky. CC & BOB; 2 Kick & Hoesl’s Jason Von Der Alten Veste, br/w dog I have awarded a CC before. I have seen him perform better, however, still a quality dog, very useful to the breed, for his general make & shape, perfect bite. In excellent show condition. Expert handling. RCC; 3 Jakobs, Klishas & Feuz’s Am Ch/Am Grand Ch Dytona Vip, superb specimen, who took my eye on entering the ring & I thought him to be a high contender. However, I felt he looked quite regimented, possibly by over-handling & lacked sparkle. Pity. VB (3,2) 1 Dance’s Decadance Dixie Liberty Bell, she’s a lovely white girl, in excellent coat & condition, lovely head, sympathetically handled, enjoying her day out, with her doting owner. PB 1 Bennett’s Quayardson Lady Delacour, very promising white bitch with head markings. Very good for breed type, well balanced. Correct size, eye could be smaller, to give better expression. However, excellent feminine head, filled & turned, short firm body, true showgirl. Shall look out for her in the future. BP. JB (7,1) Quality class. 1 Plumley & Wylie’s Tuskenada Anais Anais with Trascend, white girl with head markings. Good breed type, correct for size. Could have more length in upper arm, to complete the picture. Handled expertly to show off her many qualities. Feminine head, perfect bite, well placed ears. Good angulation in hindquarters, moving out well. In excellent condition. Happy to award her a RCC; 2 Kowalczyk’s Kylie Kia, another promising quality bitch, with correct profile to head & perfect bite. One to breed from. In excellent coat & condition. Moving out well, super temperament. Well handled; 3 Chitty’s Seaquest Angel Of Mine. PGB (9,5) Difficult class to judge. 1 Cserfalvi-Young’s Ducassos Summer Breeze, white bitch with head markings. Superb head, filled & turned, perfect bite. Could do with more length in upper arm which would improve the topline. Well angulated in hindquarters, correct for size, good feet; 2 Gardner & Twyman’s Bullypins Mystique into Laronbelle, bigger type, but excellent for make & shape. One to breed from. Super sweep to head, perfect bite, super show temperament, in good coat & condition. Correct shoulder placement. Could be shorter in the loin; 3 Boyne’s Decadance Dollar Belle at Boannadeen. LB (11,2) Thought provoking class. 1 Brommont-Lothary’s Zozo Bonsai von Amadis. CC; 2 Kick & Hoesl’s Reebooks Bounty, superb br/w. In excellent show condition. Well handled. Head as filled & turned, ears could be better placed. With excellent expression. Perfect bite. Firm in shoulder placement, & well angulated in hindquarters. Good bone & feet; 3 Preugschat’s Bullcreeks Bittersweet Blue. OB (9,2) Another quality class. 1 Fuentefria Izquierdo’s Sp/Fr/Gib/Por/Int Ch Canabull Holy Land, really promising br/w of excellent breed type, correct for size, super head filled & turned, well placed ears, correct shoulders, firm in topline, well angulated in hindquarters, lovely bone & feet. She was overwhelmed by the occasion. The handler needed to relax her more; 2 Kaestner’s Ch Tiffany Bonsai Von Amadis, well known showgirl who has received CC from me before. Good for breed type. Today had to settle for 2nd; 3 Quiles Calahorro’s Dofindaterra Calesi. S L GOODWIN |
