MINIATURE BULL BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 13 Judge(s): DR BRIAN HILL Miniature Bull Terriers I like these happy little dogs though their mix of sizes & qualities makes them a challenge to judge. The two commonest faults are lack of balance & short upper arms which inevitably makes movement relatively poor. However a few well built good quality dogs strutted their stuff & showed the way ahead. PD (4) 1 Lambert’s Grandopera Didier Drogba of Caliber, fairly small well marked br/w, attractive head, filled & curved, good expression but teeth slightly undershot, short upper arm spoils the picture & affects the movement of an otherwise well made dog; 2 Buchalskas & Lockwood’s Grandopera Buffalo Bill, almost solid br/w, well over the measure, strong head, curved profile, correct mouth & nice eyes, good bodylines. A picture standing but with very poor movement, seems unable to flex at the hock. JD (2) 1 McGregor’s Merlindan Captain Chaos, b/br/w, quality head, nicely turned with good expression & scissor bite, good topline, quarters & tail carriage, straight front but a shade upright, movement better than most. RCC; 2 Bell’s Quayardson Sir Barclay at Darlou, white with fairly good head, nice expression. Rather upright in front & untidy movement. PGD (1) 1 Kirkby’s Bullypins Avenger for Kirbsea, b/br/w, fair profile with nice roman finish, scissor bite & good expression though I would like the ears more on top. Well boned & attractive bodylines, but upper arm a tad short. Moved fairly well both ways. LD (3) A. OD (4) 1 Guerreros’ Am Ch Cambria’s Cisco Kidd, b/br/w, well balanced powerful dog, just over the measure, good topline & tail carriage, straight front but very slightly upright, strong attractive head, broad muzzle, well placed eyes add to good expression, scissor bite, fairly good movement, quality dog, well handled to his CC; 2 Dodwell’s Decadance Defender, bl/br/w, rather large dog, straight front but a bit upright, correct mouth but kind eyes & ears not on top spoil his expression. Moved reasonably well; 3 Vickers’ Duvessa Kings Charisma. PB (1) 1 Gardeners & Twyman’s Bullypins Mystique into Laronbelle, b/br/w, rather upright front which makes her appear long in body. Mouth just correct but kind eyes & low ear placement spoil her expression, movement rather untidy but should improve with maturity. JB (2) 1 Hughes’ Glacial Dawn, white, smallest dog of the day, almost on the measure, straight front though I would like a little more length of upper arm. Fair quarters & correct tail carriage, curved profile, expression aided by well placed eyes & ears, scissor bite, moderate movement. RCC. PGB (3) 1 Shaw’s Badlesmere Bee Witched, white with black eye patch, powerful & well boned with good quarters & tail carriage. Outline spoilt by short upper arms which resulted in rather stilted movement. Good head with scissor bite & quite well placed ears & eyes; 2 Stupp’s Little white Gladiators Drama Queen, nicely marked br/w shape spoiled by upright front which resulted in rather poor movement. Average head with fairly good profile & correct bite. LB (5) 1 Peakin’s Graymor Galliano by Byzantine, attractive & alert r/w, well balanced body with straight front & correct tailset. To be super critical I would like more upper arm & tighter feet, powerful gently turned head, scissor bite, well placed eyes & ears add to expression, good movement with moderate reach & drive, lovely bitch well presented & shown. CC & BOB; 2 Wright’s Kofyn Kontessa von Hofstetter, only just over the measure, second smallest of the day, short upper arms spoil otherwise good bodylines with correct tailset, fairly good profile & scissor bite. Despite the short upper arms she moved fairly well; 3 Shaw’s Badlesmere Bourre. OB (6) 1 Llewellyn’s Bullypins Kalypso, b/br/w, good head profile, scissor bite, quite good eyes & ears, pleasing expression, good topline marred by short upper arms which make her look long in body. Good quarters & tail carriage, average movement; 2 Preddy’s Shacadia’s Sugar N’Spice at Shacals, br/w, lovely rich r/br, upright front makes her look too long, correct tail carriage, head moderate with rather kind eyes, correct bite, average movement; 3 Kedges & Wiles’ Adderswood Vyvyan for Arcazy.
