MINIATURE BULL BIRMINGHAM DOG SHOW 11 Judge(s) MR MARK PHILLIPS DCC GRANDOPERA CARBON NEUTRAL (MR & MRS & MISS D E & V CLARK) Miniature Bull Terriers Thank you to all exhibitors that came & waited as we were third in the ring, making a long day for the dogs & exhibitors. A lovely quality entry overall but we must keep an eye on in standing canines as these still seem to be fairly prevalent. Generally my main winners were on the bigger size but unfortunately until I can find better, I will not forgo size for balance & conformation. PD (3) 1 Jones’ Transcend Festival Flutter with Indizak, smart cobby tri with super sweeping profile & good fill up, good bite & expression, straight front & neat feet, good bone & substance, drives from well turned stifles & covers ground. Just lacks maturity but sure he’ll be one to watch. Lovely puppy; 2 Groves & Cooke’s Seaquest Warrior King, masculine b/br, nicely balanced, strong head with fill & good underjaw. Mouth canine fault. Lovely straight front & good feet. Covered ground but close behind; 3 Hart’s Duvessa Double Trouble at Albermarbull. JD (2) 1 Russell’s Manduessedum Re Caruso, typy r/w, nicely filled head with good finish, good eye giving all so important expression. Canine fault. Balanced throughout. Straight front but toes in a little on move. Drives from behind & covers ground. PGD (3) 1 Manoli’s Belcanto Toreador, chunky white balanced dog, strong well filled head with good finish & expression, good bone & nice turn of stifle, fairly well made. Didn’t move as would expect so movement let him down; 2 Redpath’s Manduessedum Re Vittorio, elegant upstanding br/w, long head with profile, good mouth, lovely straight front & neat feet, good reach of neck. Needs to carry more weight. Moved with drive & covered ground. Still needs to mature & fill out; 3 Sharp’s Delightful Buddy of Bellalu. LD (4) 1 Dance’s Decadance Dahlquist, heavyweight white with superb filled & turned head with underjaw, good mouth, straight front, neat feet, deep chest, lovely white jacket, decent turn of stifle, one of better movers, moving parallel & with drive. Needs a little of what sister’s on to give more animation. Still needs to round off in body, should come with more maturity; 2 Hearne & Singleton’s Warbonnet Galetia, fully matured, super headed, virtuous, masculine r/w, head packed with fill, good bite & excellent expression, good depth of body & strong bone. Front could be tighter. Really drives from strong well turned & muscled quarters & covers ground; 3 Dodwell’s Decadance Defender. OD (4) 1 Clark’s Grandopera Carbon Neutral, eyecatching, balanced br/w, super sweeping profile with good fill & underjaw. Slight mouth fault. Beautiful straight front with lovely reach of neck & cat feet, really shapely & well made. Moved better going than coming but really covers ground. Stylish showman, shows like a top demanding attention. CC; 2 Vickers’ Edgar Wilde from Duvessa, smaller. Super typy eyecatching white, strong, well filled head with finish, excellent expression with good mouth, balanced with lovely straight front & neat feet, shapely body & moved with jaunty air. Prefer more turn of stifle. Another super showman, really gave his all. RCC; 3 Harrison’s Jenkir Thor. PB (3) 1 Thornley & Jarvis’ Seaquest Warrior Maiden, good for size, balanced well made baby, nicely filled & turned head with finish, good eye. Mouth fault. Moved well when settled. Needs to mature; 2 Sharp’s Bellalu Blonde Moment, quality r/w baby with super sweeping profile, good ears & eye set. Mouth fault. Nice bone & shapely. Needs to mature & gain more confidence. JB (2) 1 Shaw’s Badlesmere Bee Witched, good for size, typy balanced white, really scrummy, lovely filled head with good profile & good mouth, wicked eye with tiny little ears, lovely white jacket, balanced & shapely with straight front & cat feet, good rear angulation. Moved more freely in challenge once had settled bit more, loved her type. Has all my favourite things but only wants to show them sporadically, as young & easily distracted. Once has bit more show experience, will be the one to beat. RCC; 2 Lawrence’s Badlesmere Bid For Gold with Cajuma, immature r/w. Nicely turned head but lacks bit of fill. Wicked expression, good bone for size. Moved better in front than behind. PGB (3) 1 Cserfalvi-Young’s Ducassos Thumbalina, super eyecatching terrier type white, power packed head with sweeping profile & piercing expression. Mouth just off level but canines correct. Shapely & compact, good bone & substance for size. Needs to tighten in front. Very full of herself so movement hard to assess but in glimpses saw drive from behind & covered ground. Virtuous mini, good for size; 2 Groves & Cooke’s Belcanto Dorabella, pretty feminine white with nicely turned & filled head, good expression. Mouth fault. Moved parallel but lacked drive. LB (3) 1 Dance’s Decadance Dragonfly, substantial, super headed white with sweeping profile packed right up, good mouth with nice ears, straight front with neat feet & well sprung ribs, nicely turned & muscled quarters used on move & covers ground. Handler needs to watch topline. Excellent showgirl; 2 Manoli’s Seaquest Ballykissangel, feminine white with eye patch, balanced & well made, no exaggerations, moved parallel, well presented & gives her all. OB (7) What a class to judge, full of top quality. 1 Chapman’s Grandopera Global Warming at Delektabul, super headed, eyecatching, balanced, r/w, head filled right up with lovely profile, good mouth & underjaw, well made & shapely, lovely reach of neck with neat feet, in class of her own for movement, moving parallel with drive & covering ground, excellent showgirl in superb condition, took my eye from moment entered ring. CC & BOB; 2 Ensell’s Erenden Waltzing Matilda at Minimayhem, quality typy balanced white, well filled head with lovely profile, good mouth, wicked expression, well made & shapely. Coat lacking a little condition & tad more weight would complete picture. Moved better coming than going but covered ground. Didn’t stop showing, very close decision for RCC; 3 McGregor’s Bullypins Millima of Merlindan. MARK PHILLIPS |
