MINIATURE BULL BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 10 Judge(s) MRS SYLVIA MONAGHAN DCC WARBONNET JON BON (MRS E J THORNLEY) Miniature Bull Terriers On the whole exhibits were in good healthy condition. There were three dentition faults & as is common these days, & will be for some years to come, a variation of sizes in the classes. I also note that there is also a lack of underjaw on several exhibits which lost the head shape familiar to a Miniature Bull Terrier. There were exhibits who certainly need more training & socialising being skittish on table & all over the place on the move which does lose them places. PD (4) 1 BP, Barrett’s Decadance Discover Margins, very promising youngster who I believe has started his career with some good winnings. However, today he was up against the best & I felt his maturity was the only thing that was not on his side, just needs to mature & body through. Head is developing nicely with arc & fill, correct dentition, good reach of neck set onto well placed shoulders, quarters have just the right development. He does appear to be straight on stifle, this does not distract his movement that is positive & sound. One to look out for in future as I am sure he will be one of the breed’s top winners; 2 Dodwell’s Decadance Definance, tri, larger type to 1 but maturing at just the right pace, good conformation for size. Lacks on head but has correct dentition. Skittish on move but when settled moved OK; 3 Ackroyd’s Springridge Danny Zukko. JD (3) 1 Neame’s Badlesmere Bering Express, tri, one of our better sized dogs today, couldn’t fault, presents a good picture of the required Standard with good movement; 2 Preddy’s Badlesmere Boipelo, b/br, larger type, overall correct for size with bone & substance to match. Appears to have a dentition fault but other virtues outweighed this. Skittish on move, was unable to access fully. Needs to be socialised; 3 Edwards’ Badlesmere Bishop’s Ploy. PGD (1) 1 Harrison’s Jenkir Thor, b/br, nice size & to type, head has good ear carriage & is well formed with arc & fill, correct dentition with a nice reach of neck, set onto shoulders, hindquarters are nicely angulated but appears to elbow on front when moving. LD (3) 1 Hearne & Singleton’s Warbonnet Galetia, have judged this dog before & he has certainly matured into a powerful, handsome & sound young man, good strong bone, well defined head with arc & fill, overall fits the picture with a nice short back & well developed quarters, attentive & on his toes all the time, on the move drove strongly & soundly; 2 Monaghan, Dobbin & Vaneck’s Debully Enter Sandman, red, finer bone & smaller than 1 but has the correct ratio for his size & frame. Lacks a little on head, has correct dentition, good reach of neck set onto well laid shoulders, nicely angled quarters, moved well; 3 Hopkins & Taylor’s Seayess First Night at Manduessedum. OD(4,1) 1 CC, Thornley’s Warbonnet Jon Bon, tri, couldn’t fault, he has the size, overall conformation with good bone, well shaped head with correct dentition, good angulations on quarters, moved soundly; 2 RCC, Goodwin’s Ready To Rumble with Spitwinter, red, one of the better dogs today, also fits the picture, power packed head with good ear carriage & fill. Has dentition fault but this can be overlooked by his virtues. Strong, heavy boned with good quarters, nice reach of neck set on to his shoulders, drove well & soundly around the ring; 3 Vickers’ Edgar Wilde from Duvessa. PB (4) 1 Richardson’s Badlesmere Bookend at Quayardson, brindle, petite & feminine, presents a good picture of a Mini Bull, she has all the virtues. Just lacks a little on head, that will come with maturity. Moved soundly; 2 Grover & Cooke’s Belcanto Dorabella, white, good overall although appears a little long in back & dances over at the back on the move; 3 Dance’s Decadance Dragonfly. JB (1) A. PGB(4.1) 1 Thornley’s Warbonnet Reet Petite, brindle, she is really one of our petite ladies but all qualities there, bone & conformation to size with nicely shaped head & correct dentition. A little skittish on table & move but when settled. Moved OK; 2 Hart’s Justeph Princess Melady, larger type to 1 & does not have the bone & substance of 1. Otherwise head is nicely shaped with correct dentition, quarters have developed well & movement is sound; 3 Whittaker’s Wengormick Petite Lady. LB (5) 1 Hopkins & Taylor’s Margins Move Over Darlin at Manduessedum, bl/br, one of our larger ladies but this does not distract from her virtues, everything to proportion from head to tail, head is well formed with arc & finish, correct dentition & she has a good reach of neck set onto her shoulders, lovely bone & substance, well defined quarters & she has sound movement; 2 Llewellyn’s Merkava Kleopatra by Bullypins, white, loved this little bitch, a nice size with the right ratio of bone to conformation. Head has arc & fill but unfortunately she has a dentition fault. Nice reach of neck & lay of shoulder, quarters nicely angulated & she moves well; 3 Ensell’s Erenden Walzing Matilda at Miniymayhem. OB (3) 1 CC & BOB, Thornley’s Ch Seaquest Miss Dynamite, tri, she is dynamite, have judged her before & with maturity she has certainly fulfilled all expectations from her super power packed head with good ear carriage, arc, fill & roman finish, correct dentition, dark wicked eye & expression say ‘look at me’, nice reach of neck set onto well laid shoulders, overall conformation to size, moved effortlessly & with drive around the ring, was pleased to hear later that she has also achieved her international title in Ireland recently; 2 RCC, Redland & Vincent’s White Eyed & Legless in Kofyn, white, another elegant lady, all virtues of 1, in smaller proportions but still fits the picture, has bone & substance for size with good quarters, moved well. Just lacks on head to 1; 3 Austen’s Elizabeth 1 Trooping The Colour. |
