ENGLISH BULL SKC 10 Judge(s) MRS J PHILLIPS DCC CH CHAMOS WHISPERED SECRET AT BLAZINBULLYS (MR S MRS R MATHISON) Bull Terriers It was an exceptionally warm day which generally presents a challenge for most to get the best out of their dogs. The ground in the ring was very uneven with two tent poles placed strategically in the middle so this made movement more difficult to assess than usual. The grass was long which made even the most balanced dogs/bitches appear short legged. Having said that the quality of the entry was excellent & most performed well given the environmental conditions. PD (2) 1 Blair’s Megaville Visions, typy & compact quality white, powerful filled head with excellent downface, good mouth & well set ears. Bit out at elbow which showed on move. Shapely & very square with good angulation, real showman who was not fazed by the heat. BP; 2 Connell’s Ragnarok Gungnir at Koellen, shapely white, well turned head. Lacks a bit of fill. Good mouth, fairly well made. Not head or balance of 1. Did not perform so well in the heat. JD (2,1a) 1 Aitken’s Javarke Smoking Barrels, immature br/w. Good profile with wicked eye & good mouth, good reach of neck. Lacks angulation in hindquarters. Moved close in front but covered ground. Another who found the heat tiring. PGD (1) 1 McDonagh & McLeish’s White Viper at Irazistabull, cobby white with strong head. Lacking profile. Neat feet. Prefer more length of neck. Bit out at elbow & lacked in angulation. Surprisingly moved fairly parallel & covered the ground. LD (4,1) 1 Kilpatrick’s Rebelside John Wayne, powerful masculine white with lovely bone, super expression with really well filled head & excellent profile, good mouth, well laid shoulders, neat feet. Bit loose in pasterns. Good turn of stifle which he drove from covering the ground. Not as balanced & tidy as CC winner. RCC on maturity & movement over puppy; 2 Callan’s Javarke Kwik Fire at Penderrin, upstanding white with lovely reach of neck, super turned & filled head with lovely expression. Mouth off level. Balanced. Moved better in front than behind but covered the ground. Really liked him. Too much scruffy fur around neck & coat condition not good spoiling overall picture; 3 Petticrew’s Jackamani’s Celtic Thunder. OD (6,2) Strong but difficult class with such a wide variety of faults & virtues. 1 Mathison’s Ch Chamos Whispered Secret at Blazinbullys, quality balanced terrier type white, very tidy, strong head with good down face & excellent expression, good mouth, straight front, neat feet. Lacks angulation. Moved well & covered ground, super showman, did not let the heat affect performance. CC; 2 Gavran’s Northern Buccaneer of Kilacabar, powerhouse white with excellent bone, strong head with good Roman finish, good mouth, shapely forechest. Stands bit wide in front. Well angulated quarters which really drives from & covers ground, exuberant showman. Preferred balance & cleaner lines of 1; 3 Howes & Sheppard’s Ragnarok Balder at Polanca. PB (4,1) 1 Mathison’s Blazinbullys Miss Sinister, quality balanced b/br/w, lovely profile to head. Lacks strength & underjaw. Prefer smaller eye. Good mouth, lovely reach of neck, straight front, neat feet, good angulation. Moved better in front than behind but covered the ground. Sparkling condition & showed her socks off. Still needs to mature on in body; 2 Richardson’s Dajan Gold Medal for Quayardson, shapely white with lovely spring of rib, good profile & fill to head with keen eye, good mouth. Not as balanced as 1 & bit loose in pasterns. Moved fairly well. Took a while to settle, seemed a bit overcome with occasion. Got better as class went on; 3 Higgott & Neare’s Othellobull Pretty In Pink. JB (1) 1 O’Connell’s Elvroc Who Dares Wins at Koellen, shapely white, good profile with keen expression & good underjaw, good mouth, lovely reach of neck, well turned stifles. Moved better in front than behind. Slightly immature in body. Not too keen on showing but improved during class. PGB (2,1) 1 McDonagh & McCleish’s Afanbull Night Sky over Irazistabull, cobby tri, strong head with good underjaw, good mouth, shapely forechest, stands straight in front. Toed in on move & close behind. Not very balanced & bit short on neck. LB (3,2) 1 Hylands’ Terjo’s Abracadabra, quality shapely white with super head, filled & turned, excellent expression, good mouth, very balanced with lovely reach of neck, straight front & well angulated quarters. Moved better in front than behind. Did not make most of herself in class but alone. Showed lot better in the challenge. RCC. OB (4,1) 1 Ley’s Fortifer Fractious Female, my idea of the Standard, beautiful strong well boned white, balanced, well made & feminine, classical head really filled with lovely profile, strong underjaw & good mouth, shapely with lovely reach of neck, straight front & good angulation. Moved better in front than behind. Seasoned showgirl, attentive to handler. CC & BOB; 2 Thomson & Shearer’s Nethanbull Lightening Babe with Ceilteach, quality well made white, strong powerful head with wicked eye. Not head of 1. Good mouth, good reach of neck, straight front, shapely body & well turned stifles. Moved better coming than going. Exuberant showgirl, makes most of herself; 3 Hind & Membury’s Mitzstaff Ice Maiden.
