ENGLISH BULL JUDGE MANCHESTER 19

The entry at 39 was better than the last time I judged the breed, but sadly there were many absentees - partly caused I believe by some traffic problems on the M6. That was unfortunate. I felt that in the main, heads were really pretty good and have improved greatly in the years I have been involved with the breed. I did find three exhibits with misplaced lower canine teeth which is something that needs to be carefully watched. The dogs were shown very fit. There were a few that moved rather close behind but on balance movement was not too bad.

PGD (5, 2)

1 Dodd & Rowlands' Bluepoint Patchogue, was very much the soundest dog in this class, enough neck, good head and pleasing eye. Tail carried a shade high. Good round bone and correct compact feet. Moved out well and was very well muscled behind.

2 Lewis & Sarich's Afanbull Gorgeous George, better in length of back than 1 but not moving as well as him. Could have better dentition. Excellent head and skull. Good front and OK in tail.

3 Harper's Olympusbulys Thoren Luck.

LD (7, 2)

1 Strugarek's, this dog caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Very good in head with correct profile and good fill. Good eye. Very good in front. Good bone. Enough bend of stifle, well muscled behind and tail well carried. Good body shape and substance and correct spring of rib. He moved well and jauntily and went on to win the DCC and BOB.

2 Gausden & Lade's Ellakru Its All About Me, better for length than 3 here but slightly longer in back than 1. Good topline. Pleasing in head with a very good down face right down to the nose. Not quite the movement of 1 but well let down in hock. Well ribbed up. Could be slightly shorter in tail.

3. Scott & Sutcliffe's Tilleah Jessee James At Dotannebull.

OD (4, 3)

1 Mathison's Selbullie Dark Side of Blazinbullys, pleasing dog with a good head. Moved out OK. Was good in neck and correct in shoulder and had plenty of muscle. Not quite the style or bend of stifle of the CC winner but went on to win the Res DCC.

PB (4, 1)

1 Welsby's Tawnbarr Diamond Ice Dragon Avec Sherrywells, I thought scored well in this class especially for movement. Had a bit more bone than 2 though she needs to finish in body. She moved out really well in front and behind. Well enough developed head for her age with correct flatness of skull. Excellent level backline and good spring of rib. Good pasterns and correct behind. Best Puppy.

2 Scott & Sutcliffe's Bluepoint Sea Breeze, good head and head profile. A shade heavy over the shoulder and sometimes stands a shade wide in front. Good tight feet. Tail of correct length and well carried. Scored in hind movement over 3.

3 Morris & Heath's Bluepoint Kittiwake.

PGB (6, 2)

1. Poston's Garthybull Liberty Girl, showed extremely well. Could have a bit more body but was very good in head and had a good eye. Showed with just as much spirit but with a shade more steadiness than 2 Good upright pasterns and moved well in front and behind. Good neck and topline. Correct tail and tailset.

2 Hacketts' Spartiate Devils Vision, another with a good head. Very good in body and had more body substance than 1 but was not quite as well muscled. Good round bone. OK in bend of stifle.

3 Villensia's Villensia Virtuoso.

LB (6, 1)

1 Lamonby's Emred Dikram Devils Delores, a well proportioned bitch. Didn't show to best advantage all the time but good in shoulder and enough bend of stifle. Moved up and down well. OK in head and skull when seen from the front and in profile. Could have more depth of underjaw. Better in underline than 2 and better in tail. Well muscled. RBCC.

2 Sheppard & Howes' Ragnarok Back in Black from Polanca, another with a particularly good head. Excellent length of neck. Stood up well and was better in topline than 1 but not so graceful in underline as her today. Could be shorter in tail. Scored over 3 for hind movement.

3 West & Jones' Irazistabull Staring Back at Groundworx.

OB (4, 0)

1 Johnson's Javarke River Romance, good in head with correct shape and fill and good depth. Good skull and ears well held. Didn't always show to best advantage but excellent outline standing. Good length of neck and excellent in shoulder. Good in pasterns and correct round bone. Enough bend of stifle and moved out well. Tail carried correctly. Went on to take the BCC.

2 Foster & Bicker's Bilboen Harlee Quinn, a strongly made bitch with good outline. Excellent head and good in eye. Didn't always get properly into her stride and was inclined to keep pacing which made it difficult to assess her movement properly. Could do with a shade more body substance to complete the picture.

3 Young & Lamonby's Emred Devils Nighthawk Of Kirkville
