BULL JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 11

Bull Terriers

Some lovely dogs to go over, & virtually all with happy friendly temperaments, which is the essence of the breed; not so much as a growl did I hear. Very few bad mouths, although a couple were atrocious. Make & shape is still a bit dodgy, upright shoulders & short upper arms are still too numerous, but my winners were first class examples of what to aim for.

PD (1) A.

JD (3)

1 Saunders & Dovey’s Jayston Yasmino’s Boy, tri, powerful head, well placed small eyes & ears on top, perfect bite, lovely expression, arched neck into good shoulders, pleasing body lines & notably short back, correct tailset, good movement both ways & with drive, well boned, compact & alert, an extrovert & a joy to go over. CC & BOB;

2 Goodwin’s Busells Black Magic at Ounsdale, heavyweight tri, lovely head, good profile & small eyes, scissor bite, good body lines. Rather long in loin which spoils balance.

ND (1)

1 Griffiths’ Jessaback Blazin Inferno, white, nice eyes & correct mouth but rather plain in head. Fairly good front but long in body which spoils balance, untidy movement.

PGD (5)

1 Marshelsea Trouble Coming at Romagna, white, gentle curve of profile & correct mouth but I would like a little more fill & breadth of muzzle, very slightly upright in front. Fair topline & good quarters, moved quite well in front but close behind;

2 Bennett’s Aldamar Power Storm, bl/br, fairly good head with pincer bite, quite well balanced though rather short in upper arm, moved fairly well;

3 Oconnel’s Ragnarok Gungnir.

LD

1 Wannop’s Charishalee Drumbeat, white, gently curved head, filled & with small eyes giving sharp expression, scissor bite, ears on top, arched neck, good topline & tailset. Would like a longer upper arm, otherwise well balanced with short back, rear movement pleasingly wide & parallel, front fairly good, pleasing drive. RCC;

2 Martin & Hirst’s Bullyview Moment Of Madness at Santini, white with brindle eye patch, fair head with correct mouth & nice eyes, quite well balanced, good quarters & fair movement;

3 White’s Stockleyview Fantastica.

OD (1)

1 Toner’s Angus, well boned white, fairly good head, nice eye, good profile with roman finish, well used ears & correct bite, straight front but slightly upright, a shade long in back. Reasonable movement.

PB (2)

1 Wrights & Skelton’s Joint Venture with Rightstuff, attractive white, good profile, lovely eyes, ears on top & correct bite, well balanced, straight front, good topline, quarters & tail carriage. Slightly longer upper arm would improve her. Movement fair for age. Needs to tighten;

2 Williams & Hawksford’s Bo Buddy Evanesence, white, fair profile, nice eyes & correct mouth, ears well used. Would like more breadth of muzzle & better pigmented nose. Straight front, fairly good topline & quarters, correct tailset, movement reasonable for age. Flat feet detract.

JB (3)

1 Westwood’s Tulsadoom Sinasina, white, fair profile with good length of muzzle but I would like more breadth & fill & better placed ears. Correct mouth, well boned with straight front good topline, quarters & tailset. Movement rather untidy;

2 White’s Shanthana Thai Black Orchid, nicely made though a shade short on front legs, attractive head & expression but marred by a mouth fault. Moved well both ways;

3 Howes, Sheppard & Taylor’s Ragnarok Daralis with Polanca.

NB (2)

1 Wright’s Rightstuff Re Spek Ta Bull, fairly well marked br/w, curved profile, good expression, slightly undershot, fairly well built but a shade upright. Movement adequate.

PGB (2)

1 Taylor’s Bullywood Avenging Star to Ragnarok, gently curved profile & fair fill, sharp eye & scissor bite. Ears rather low set. Good bone & bodylines, moved with drive, well in front but close behind.

LB (5)

1 Godsall’s Terjo’s Blue Moon over Neverland, solid brindle, a little white on the chest with a streak running up under the neck & white toe tips. Lovely head, gently curved with good length below the eye & pleasing fill & breadth, lovely small eye & ears on top, scissor bite, beautifully balanced, perfectly straight front, long arched neck into good shoulders, nice topline & quarters, tail set on low & carried horizontally, movement very good both ways & with drive, superficially solid brindles generally appear flimsy as does this bitch, it is an optical illusion, on close examination this elegant bitch has adequate bone & substance & if all white would have been made up ages ago. CC, only lost out to the dog for BOB on his very short back;

2 Wilson & Stephens’ Penderrin Blackheart Maid for Alizarin, attractive bl/br, nice head with good profile, eyes, ears & scissor bite, straight front, good topline & quarters. Tail carriage not ideal. Moved well with drive both ways;

3 Wilson’s Warnerdales Anamaniac at Harrowhill.

OB (4,1)

1 Mathison’s Ch Blazinbullys Miss Sinister, nicely marked bl/br/w, curved head with scissor bite, nice expression though eyes a bit kind & ears not quite on top, would like more fill under the eyes & more breadth of muzzle. Lovely long neck into good shoulders, nice topline & quarters, correct tailset, well balanced. Moved with drive, good in front, a shade close behind. Lovely bitch. RCC;

2 Woodward’s Gorbain Salacious Suzie, white with fairly good head & profile, correct mouth, quite well built but rather short on the front leg which spoils her balance. Movement good in front. Rather choppy behind, carrying too much weight;

3 Lambert’s Caliber Silver Playted.
