ENGLISH BULL DRIFFIELD 11 Judge: Mrs Zena Thorn Andrews ENGLISH BULL JUDGE DRIFFIELD 11 Bull Terriers MPD & PD (0). JD (5) 1 Marples’ Taylajay Look No Further, smart dog, still needs some further rib development. Deep enough in chest, super topline & underline, powerful rear, grand bone & feet. Liked his fill in of head, not too small an eye but it is well set in & of good shape, good downface & roman finish, stiff erect ears; 2 Saunders & Dovey’s Jayston Yasmino’s Boy, more mature in body but not as straight in front legs as 1. Lovely sweep of downface & powerful jaws, good balance of body to height ratio & fair mover. Half brother to 2nd in OB; 3 Laycock’s Casodon Smooth Criminal. YD (1) 1 Pilkington’s Javarke Jack Frost, has a bit of a break over the eyes in skull but otherwise a strong masculine head, powerful neck, reasonable shoulder but feet could be thicker. Well ribbed back. Loin could arch more & tail set on rather high. Exceptionally powerful quarters, moved well in rear, good width across quarters & well developed second thighs. Half brother to 2 in JB. PGD (4) 1 Gardner & Patterson’s Javarke Sharp Shooter, maybe he is a mite long in back but overall a fair dog, quite precise moving, good shoulders & forechest. Head needs more fill in below the eyes which are set well, strong jaws, good neck, excellent topline & rear, well carried tail; 2 Williams & Hawksford’s Busell’s Red Knight Rising, stronger in head & very neat erect ears, good expression, excellent front & forechest, good bone. Body a little out of balance & he picks his hind legs up too much on the move, tail a wee bit high set. Overall a typy dog with many breed points; 3 Bennett’s Aldamar Power Storm. LD (5) 1 RCC, Parry’s Bulldazzled Son Of Darkness at Danathsam, very good quality dog, loved his head, correct shape from front & good downface from side & roman finish, excellent front & the width across the front lends him that jaunty movement I admire in the breed, well bodied but has a gentle tuck up, powerful impressive quarters, overall good strength, just a mite long; 2 Wannop’s Charishalee Drumbeat, smart white dog, appealed for head & front, rather flat on top & could do with more of a gentle arch over loins. Straight, precise mover & strong in head; 3 Brown’s Meridianview Monkey Boy. OD (4) 1 CC, Mathison’s Ch Chamos Whispered Secret at Blazinbullys, certainly full of spirit, very happy in the ring, nice sweep of skull & set in of eyes, maybe needs a mite more neck but he is exceptionally strong throughout, super front & rear angulation, correct topline & substance without being overweight. Moved really well all round for soundness & freedom of action, in great condition too. Half brother to BCC; 2 Morgan’s Marshelsea Trouble Coming at Romagna, pleasing head & strength of jaw, strong & quite a straight mover, good width of rib & depth of chest. Rather heavy in body & flat in topline. Certainly enjoying himself. GCD (0). MPB (0). PB (2) 1 BP, Wright & Skelton’s Joint Venture with Right Stuff, promising puppy for balance & proportions, lovely head for age, eyes nicely set. Has a bit of ticking in coat but not enough to bother about. Slightly straight in upper arm & feet can still tighten. Excellent outline & topline, super behind, very attractive all through. Just needs to move for the ring. Half sister to JD winner; 2 Hammill’s Tiapans Starlight Express, nice head, not quite the width of underjaw & is a trifle long in back. Better shoulder & upper arm than 1. Solid bone, excellent topline & powerful rear for a puppy. JB (6) Good class. 1 RCC, Fletcher’s Napier Rosella, stood out for proportions of height to length, balanced angulation, super head, good downface, well filled in, strong jaws, neat ears, excellent legs & feet, her rear movement was perhaps not quite as true as 2 but her superb type won her this class & RCC; 2 Reed’s Blueskybully Lightnin Bolt, very sound, free active moving bitch, nicely made, in excellent condition. Trifle plain looking compared to 1 but I’m sure she will have many good wins as she matures, very good coat & body; 3 Bloom & O’Neill’s Khlolander Tropicana at Abenaki. YB (4) 1 B Lightnin Bolt; 2 Wright’s Rightstuff Re Spek Ta Bull, taller type & still needs more rib development. Nice slight tuck up, good topline & slightly arched loins, ears set well. Just a little straight in stifle & lacks upper arm slope. Pleasing head & eyes, the others had narrow bottom jaws; 3 Howes, Sheppard & Taylor’s Ragnarok Daralls with Polanca. PGB (2) A. LB (2) 1 Jastrzebska’s Romantic Lady Timar, underjaw a little narrow & one canine incorrect. Otherwise a good head, good downface & fill in, strong neck, reasonable front. Lacks a little bone from the pasterns down. Good ribbing & width, neat impressive quarters. Bit stiff in front movement. Half sister to 1 in YD. OB (7) Lovely class with some gorgeous bitches. 1 CC & BOB, Mathison’s Ch Blazinbullys Miss Sinister, pleasing for head & eyes, good sweep of downface & roman finish, sound construction & flowing lines from head to tail. Slightly untidy underline but she was not fat. Excellent body, coat & muscular condition, superb on the move; 2 Lamonby’s Emred Night Fever, very neat, sound & well put together, super head & fill in, strong jaws, compact body & although a smaller type was wonderfully strong & neat moving. Just preferred the topline of RCC winner; 3 Taylor’s Blossom of Snow at Credetta. GCB (0). ZENA THORN ANDREWS |
