BULL CRUFTS 09 BULL TERRIER Judge(s): Mr T Hylands Bull Terriers A great honour indeed to judge at the most famous dog show in the world. One small example only, a bitch that I dearly love had to settle for a 3rd in a tremendous class VD (3) A. PD (1) 1 Brown’s Meridianview Monkey Boy, brindle, very good head, good eye & ears, correct mouth, correct front & quarters, feet very good, moved & showed well, very nice. BP. JD (5,1) 1 Mellor’s Licorice Calhoun at Credetta, impressive tri, very good head, correct mouth, good ears, front & feet very good, moved very well & handled well; 2 Hind & Membury’s Mitzstaff Diamond White, white, very good head, ears & eye, mouth level, good front & feet, showed & moved well, very typy; 3 Buckby’s Benjip Gentle Ben of Skjaldmarr. PGD (13,5) 1 Ley’s Fortifer’s Fiammetta, red, very good head & eye, ears good, very good front, excellent feet, mouth level, showed & moved faultlessly, most impressed by him. Just needs to mature which will come in time; 2 Mead’s Zankol Memphis Moonlight, brindle, very good head, good eye & ears, good front & feet, good quarters, moved & showed well; 3 Rawlings’ Mapalee Matchless, white with head marks, nice head with strength, good front & feet, moved & showed well. LD (9) 1 Blair’s Megaville’s Sardonicus, brindle, superb filled & turned head, correct mouth, very good front & feet, short back, turned & shapely quarters, moved very well. He now needs to mature & when he does his overall balance should take him far; 2 Leesley’s Lydsyll The Untouchable, white, very good head, good mouth, good eye & ear carriage, front & feet good, showed & moved well eventually; 3 Hodges & Lewis’ Shwntarw Comfortably Numb, white, very good strong head, good mouth, front & feet good, well balanced & moved well. A shade more verve would help. OD (11,2) 1 Woodward’s Ch Emred Huntsman, white, top class head not overdone, mouth correct, ears carried well, good eye, front excellent, moves & shows effortlessly. His balance filled my eye from the first time I saw him. CC & BOB: 2 Roberts & Grieves’ Ch Teirwgwyn Son Of A Gun at Meilow, red, what can you say without sounding trite? His head is superb, not overdone, mouth correct & all the things said about the winner apply. On the day I decided that the win came down to the effortless movement of the winner. Close decision. RCC; 3 Young’s Bullyview Screaming Eagle, white, very good head, correct mouth, good ears, lovely eye, showed & moved very well. Just needs to mature. GCD (0). VB (2) 1 Malden’s Shanson Black Shadow at Louka, brindle, very good head, carried ears well, front & feet good, enjoyed her day & moved well both ways; 2 Taylor’s Ch Zankol Mystic Mover, brindle, very good head, front good, ears good, showed well. Feeling the head on the move but enjoyed herself. PB (0). JB (5,1) 1 Williams’ Cymdulais If I Only Knew for Gwynsel, white, very good head & correct mouth, good front & feet, very short back, good quarters, moved & showed well. Mark on her neck which in no way detracts from the overall quality; 2 Tubb’s Evlroc Crazy Cracker at Gazannlou, brindle, very good head, mouth correct, good front & feet, moved well, eventually came alive & showed well, very nice; 3 Hind & Membury’s Mitzstaff Ice Maiden, white, very good head, good ear set, nice eye, body well balanced, moved & well behaved. One tooth wrong. PGB (12,4) 1 Leesley’s Bullyview Sheer Bliss at Lydsyll, white, very good head, correct mouth, good front & feet, balanced & moved well, very impressive, never stopped showing; 2 Pilkington’s Wanna Be Posh at Javarke, red, very good head, mouth correct, front & feet very good, very impressive exhibit who pushed the whole way & while she showed well was not as steady as winner. Close decision; 3 Lambert’s Caliber Hoss Play, brindle, very good head, well balanced overall. Her markings do not do her any favours. Showed & moved very well. Mouth incorrect. LB (9,2) 1 Tinkler’s Inversu Solo Whisper at Danbull, white, very good head, level mouth, very good front & fee, beautiful balance, moved well both ways & just stood like a statue all day to beat some super bitches for RCC; 2 Taylor & Foster’s Ragnarok Fricka over Bilboen, brindle, very good head, mouth good, front feet & quarters very good, lovely bitch who I was very impressed with. Unfortunate to meet 1 who she pushed all the way; 3 Sewards’ Padhen Precious Pearl, red, very good head. Slight mouth fault. Very good front & feet, short back, good quarters, moved & showed well. Lovely bitch, very impressive. OB (11,3) 1 Cserfalvi-Young’s Ducassos Contrary Mary, white, stunning filled & turned head, correct mouth, excellent front & feet, short back & quarters well turned, moves showed very well, the very epitome of positive virtue. She can at times lean her head back when her handler stands over her. CC; 2 Newberry’s Ukusa Cosmopolitan, white, top class head, correct mouth, lovely outline, short back, moved & showed well, stunning in profile. I would prefer a little more width in front; 3 Toner’s Ch Lamellar Magic Millie, white, two black ears, lovely filled & turned head, mouth good, front & feet good, short back, moved well. A lovely bitch who just would not settle. At this level you cannot give anything away. I really liked her & could easily have placed her higher. GCB (1) 1 Waycott’s Waybully Bewitched, brindle, decent head, good mouth, nice front & feet, moved & showed well. T HYLANDS |
