ENGLISH BULL JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 24

My thanks to the City of Birmingham Canine Association for the invitation to judge both Bull Terriers and Miniature Bull Terriers. The venue is one of the best and we were fortunate with the weather. A special thanks to my two stewards who were exceptional which makes such a difference. Thank you to all the exhibitors, I was extremely pleased with the entry overall in both breeds especially at the present time where entries are rapidly diminishing. The condition and presentation of most exhibits today was extremely good with mouths by and large correct.

SBD (1)

1. Mill’s Rightstuff Black Knight – smart B/B, with a strong head, nice expression and good mouth. He could be slightly cleaner through the shoulders, has good bone and generally is well made and has a pleasing shape with a decent length of back for a youngster. He needed to settle on the move today. In lovely condition and well presented by his handler. At 11 months old he needs time to mature and develop.

VD (1)

1. Waycott’s Waybully Andromeda BV almost 10 year old white dog. His head has strength and length to it. Good front, shoulder and all round shape of body along with a good topline with good bone throughout, strong hind quarters and neat feet. Moved well both ways. Nice to see a veteran out enjoying his day in the ring.

PD (2)

1. Mill’s Rightstuff Black Knight.

2. Rowell’s Rougebull Game Changer, 8 month old well marked B/W a nice type of dog and generally well made. Good head, mouth with the bone and substance for his size standing on the best of feet. Just very unsettled today which was unfortunate.

JD (2)

1. Kinders Dodgecity’s Forged In Gold, upstanding strongly built R/W dog with lots of bone. Good head and mouth would like to see a little more length of muzzle. Muscular neck and shoulders into straight front. Strong well rounded body developed body, could be shorter in loin, well set tail. Angulated strong rear strong quarters moving well both ways. A nice presented dog shown in good condition. Well handed.

2. Horton’s Vataha The Kingpin, a different type to 1, short cobby body with a good shape to head, correct mouth. Decent neck and front could be better in the shoulder, good underline, decent quarters and bend of stifle. A little unsettled in the ring but a good effort by his hander who presented him in very good condition.

GD (2) 1

1. Sullivan’s Devarca Anything Goes, big upstanding B/W lots of bone & substance, powerful head would benefit from a more profile & finish. Good neck, front, lovely tight feet and strong, well rounded body with decent length of back into strong quarters, well set tail, he moved straight in front and closer behind.

PGD (2,1)

1. Page’s Bullyhinks Fury, an impressive, masculine white with lots to like about him. Powerfully made throughout. His head is strong with a good mouth would just like to see a bit more profile to finish it off. Straight front, strong shapely body, muscular quarters which he used to his advantage on the move, moved slightly wide in front. A good effort by the handler who got the best of him in the ring.

LD (3)

1. Townend’s Kenxtwen Lets Go, Super smart cobby, gleaming, quality R/W. Lovely head, correct mouth with a good expression and well set ears. Straight front, shoulders could be cleaner, into strong short compact body. His quarters are muscular and developed with ample angulation moving true in front and could have driven slightly more from behind. Presented in fit, beautiful condition and a credit to his owners. RCC

2. Karta-Williams & William’s Karmara Double Jeopardy, a different type of dog to 1. Big upstanding dog with huge bone. Strong head with length and depth but needs more profile, mouth just off. Well developed strong body could be shorter in loin leading onto muscular hind quarters moving well both ways. Just preferred the overall compactness of 1. Well handed.

3. Scott’s Jasna Dirty Dealer

OD (4,3)

1. Young’s Bilboen Pickpocket, white dog with ear mark who at 3 years old has developed into a masculine adult. He stands four square presenting himself well in the ring. His head is strong, long wide with profile and depth to it along with a good mouth. Strong neck, shoulders and front with good bone and substance throughout, muscular body good underline with spring of rib and developed hind quarters. He moved well both coming and going. A dog with lots of attitude in the ring who was handled well and taken through his paces today to his advantage. He later gave a good account of himself and Bull Terriers in the Group ring. CC & BOB

SBB (2)

1. Waycott’s Teirwgwyn Miss Hazel of Waybully, a very pretty, feminine B/W bitch, elegant shapely head, good mouth, nice neck, front and shoulders, neat feet, good length of back with the right amount of bone for her size, well angulated quarters moving well in front and slightly closer behind. Shown and handled well. BSB

2. Szpak’s Sparta Z Rzymskich Legionow, white with an ear mark. Another pretty bitch with a feminine head, two misplaced teeth, her front is straight, decent length of back, standing on good feet, moved ok in the front and closer behind. Not quite the compactness of 1.

PB (2) 1

1. Waycott’s Teirwgwyn Miss Hazel of Waybully BP

JB (5) 2

1. Brown & Hutchin’s Kamara’s Kiss And Tell At Winuwuk, attractive, elegant bitch with a feminine head and good mouth. Her front is straight, nice outline standing, would like to see her shorter in the back, decent angulation and strength to her quarters moving fairly well both front and back. Presented and handled well today.

2. Waycott’s Miss Hazel Of Waybully

3. Leigh’s Venus Blackflash @ Bullwizz

GB (2)

1. Sullivan’s Unionbul’s Huntress, white with a head mark, pretty well made bitch throughout. Feminine head, would like slightly more profile, good mouth. Good neck, shoulders and front with good tight feet. Short compact body with good quarters which she used on the move both ways. Her coat is ticked but at 4 years old she was good fit condition and made the most of herself in the ring.

2. Davison’s Javarke Galadriel At Adrellbulz, super smart Tri presented in beautiful condition. Feminine head, good mouth, ears could be slightly better. Strongly made body with a good neck and front. Decent length of back and ample rear angulation. Moved ok in front and closer behind. I just preferred the compactness of 1. Her overall condition is a credit to her owner.

PGB (1)

1. Szewczyk’s Quentinhill Chocolicious, nicely marked dark B/W, powerful head with a good expression and correct mouth. Her front section is good with a wide chest leading into a compact strongly made body although I would like to have seen her a few pounds lighter. Enough rear angulation and she was a little uneasy on the move making her hander work hard to get the best out of her. Another one shown in lovely condition.

LB (4,2)

1. Campbel’s Clansmann Flame Of Glory, a super smart eye catching R/W with a really lovely outline stranding. Elegant head would just like slightly more profile, good mouth. Her front section is very good and flows into a strongly made body with good length depth, bone and substance to match her size, she just tends to carry her tail high. Good bend of stifle with strong quarters, she moved well around the ring and never stopped showing. A stylish bitch who was handled well today and pushed hard in the final lineup.

2. Armitage’s Aricon Eye Eclipse Cum Abbaz, white with head mark, she has a lovely head, filled and turned, strong neck, good front with a short compact body with lots to like about her. Unfortunately, she really didn’t make the most of her time in the ring and was unsettled on the move. A very good and considerate effort by her handler today.

OB (6,2)

A very good class with four different quality bitches in the ring.

1. Young’s Sansarabull Sinful Desire At Bullyview, substantial R/W bitch. Long shapely filled head, correct mouth with good eye. Lots of bone and substance, good front with nice feet, Decent length of back with a developed body, strong angulated rear quarters and moving well both in front and back. At 14 months old this young bitch had the maturity, style and showmanship giving a credible performance in ring today being well schooled and handled. I later found out this was her first show. CC

2. Catalina’s Lowdina Chatroom Icon Dofro, white bitch with an ear marking. Beautiful head piece with sweeping profile, super expression, two misplaced incisors. A quality bitch who is very well made with good length, make, shape and depth to her body into well angulated quarters moving well both ways. She didn’t quite make the most of herself in the ring but nonetheless an elegant bitch who today was pipped at the post by 1. RCC

3. Hirst’s Ch Medusamyne Lovely Jubbly Pumkin

GCB (1)

1. Waycott’s Teirwgwyn Miss Hazel Of Waybully
