ENGLISH BULL JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 11

Bull Terriers

I enjoyed the bitch entry in particular with quite a number of varying type & size, for whom I’d have been happy to sign a CC. Upright shoulders still the main problem. A couple of otherwise quality animals were significantly undershot, & canine teeth were less than ideal in a few others.

PD (3)

1 Marples’ Taylajay Look No Further, smart & showy, very good head type, well filled & turned, wicked eye, ears slightly wide set, short & shapely, good tailset & hindquarters, promise of a good body, moved OK behind, front movement should improve when he develops in chest;

2 Gardner & Twyman’s Laronbelle’s Magic Vision, big substantial boy, needs more confidence. Good head & ears, not quite fill of 1, well bodied, correct bend of stifle, strides out well, turns front feet a little;

3 Dunn & Ciaravella’s Kimbulli’s Krazy Kondor.

JD (4)

Both top class.

1 Goodwin’s Ch Busells Black Magic at Ounsdale, real powerhouse, tremendous head, super eye & expression, exceptional strength & fill of muzzle, super bone, powerful quarters, not the easiest to show but when he settled showed an excellent outline standing & moved absolutely true. Topline not quite so good moving as standing. His sheer masculinity won the day. CC;

2 Saunders & Dovey’s Jayston Yasmino’s Boy, whereas 1 already looks fully mature, this one I suspect will take longer to reach his peak, smart as paint, very good head type, typical expression, perhaps not quite the fill of 1 but excellent nonetheless. Slightly shorter than 1 & better feet, not quite the bone or as yet the substance all through. One for the future, close up to RCC.

GD (2)

1 Griffths’ Jessajack Blazin Inferno, good all-round dog, just needs to settle a little more. Well balanced, shapely body, well bent stifles, could have a shade more front angulation, moved true in front, went better behind in the challenge than in the class, masculine head, small dark eye, not the profile of the eventual winners.

PGD (3)

1 Lever’s Meilow Maximus, showy boy, strong slightly short head with excellent profile, good expression, carries ears slightly wide, excellent front, good width & depth of chest, shapely body but a touch long for ideal balance. Strode out well, slightly close behind;

2 Bennett’s Aldamar Power Storm, different type, taller & not quite the angulation. Good eyes, small well carried ears, not the strength or profile in head of 1, OK body shape.

LD (4)

1 Wannop’s Charishalee Drumbeat, all quality white, lovely clean lines, dark small eye & neat ears contribute to a very typical expression, well laid shoulders, excellent hindquarters, moved true coming & going. Close call for the CC, when seeing them together the winner’s exceptional bone & masculinity carried the day. RCC;

2 Griffiths’ Hentarw Welsh Warrior from Penpych, all male short-backed chap, strong masculine head with enough fill & turn, reachy neck, strong hindquarters, not so good in shoulder;

3 Sheppard & Howes’ Ragnarok Balder at Polanca.

OD (2)

1 Hall’s Dajan Classy Prince at Shanthana, smart well-knit typy dog, makes an attractive overall picture, scores on his short back, correct topline & shapely body, enough bone for size, true front, head in proportion, could have a shade more front angulation. Looked well standing, didn’t put much in on the move & went slightly close behind.

PB (3)

1 Wright’s Joint Venture with Rightstuff, elegant feminine pup with a touch of class, super head & expression, tiny eye, already well filled, clean neck line, shapely body which should look a shade shorter when she matures, good tailset & hindquarters, just needs to tighten in front. BP;

2 Nisbet’s Nosremme Panda One Star, real baby, needs to settle in the ring especially on the move but shows promise, good eye & expression, has the basic framework & outline but needs masses of time to develop the substance;

3 Reed’s Blueskybully Lightnin Bolt.

JB (5)

1 Fletcher’s Napier Rosella, one you could never ignore, big strapping eyecatching red who shows off her many virtues to the full, super head & eye, tremendous fill-up plus a smooth profile, small ears slightly wide set, true front, very well ribbed, moves true in front, excellent reach & drive, marginally close behind. Not quite so compact as the CC winner but a gorgeous substantial girl anyone should be happy to own. RCC;

2 Williams’ Cwmdulais Bashful for Gwynsel, very attractive bitch of a different stamp, smaller, shorter backed, very feminine, attractive head & expression in proportion to her body, perhaps not quite the exceptional fill of 1, tiny eyes, excellent ears, typy all through. Not quite the angles of 1, especially in front;

3 Wright’s Rightstuff Ra Spek Ta Bull.

GB (2)

1 Howes, Sheppard & Taylor’s Ragnarok Daralis with Polanca, very nice head, good ears, ears & profile, excellent straight front, clean shoulders, good hind angulation, true mover. Carrying a shade too much weight & could be a shade shorter but liked her a lot;

2 Fitzherbert-Stewart’s Ounsdale Mighty Medusa, good bitch of a similar type, feminine, OK balance, typical outline, not quite bone of 1 nor so true on the move. Good head type though 1 just had the edge here.

PGB (2)

1 Hicks’ Khlolander Chic Shanique at Crisalia, feminine shapely girl, attractive expression from good eyes & ears, neat profile, good neck & topline, moved with drive & true behind, a shade close in front. Sadly her bite is undershot.

LB (7)

1 Foster’s Bilboen Star At Night, this lovely girl’s great virtue is her overall balance & lack of exaggeration in any one area, making a super picture striding out with reach & drive while retaining her excellent topline, just the right bone for her size, feminine well filled head with enough profile, moved true in front, slightly close behind. Very much in contention in the challenge, well deserves a title;

2 Price’s Keznel Hot Diamond, lovely quality, even more attractive head, excellent eyes, ears & expression, good body, very well angulated hindquarters, moved well in front, slightly close behind, just preferred slightly more upstanding balance of 1 but not much between them;

3 Wilson’s Warnerdales Anamaniac at Harrowhill.

OB (5)

Excellent class all through.

1 Lamonby’s Ch Emred Night Fever, a little gem, can’t remember seeing such a short back combined with correct shoulders, shapely topline & just the right amount of substance for her size, excellent feminine head, looks at you as they should, immaculate front & feet, correct slope of upper arm complements her shoulders, moves jauntily, true in front, marginally close behind, filled my eye, shortlisted in group. CC & BOB;

2 Mathison’s Ch Blazinbullys Miss Sinister, what a showgirl, exceptional head profile, small eye, elegant reachy neck, shapely body lines finished off with just the right bend of stifle, true front, has now developed in ribbing & makes an eyecatching overall picture. Not quite as compact as 1 but who is? A strong contender for the RCC, just not quite the strength of muzzle. Must mention the outstanding conditioning & presentation of both 1 & 2;

3 Woodward’s Gorbain Salacious Suzie.
