ENGLISH BULL JUDGE BATH 17

I would like to start by thanking the Committee of the Bath Canine Society for inviting me to judge Bull Terriers at their May show, as well as to all the exhibiters that entered and exhibited their dogs under me. With regret, I have to mention that overall entry for Bull Terriers was quite low, and sadly the attendance was even lower, which may be explained by the fact that Bull Terriers were scheduled on a Friday; despite that I thoroughly enjoyed myself on a great day and at superbly run show held on one of the best outdoor showgrounds I have ever set my foot on.

LD

1 Waycott's Waybully Andromeda JW ShCM. Two and a half years old white boy with a very pleasing head, which has very good length without any exaggeration, lovely profile, good eyes and ears, but I would prefer a bit more width and fill in the muzzle. Mouth ok. He has a good neck which flows into a good shoulder, his front is straight with excellent round bone and cat-like feet. Tail set was correct but I would prefer a shorter back. His movement was parallel coming and going. Very well handled and presented. Unlucky to meet his contender today and lost out in the challenge on head, expression and typyness. Res BD.

OD

1 Smalley's Briden Backchat. Without a doubt he was star of the day for me. A super typy 4 years old white dog with brindle patch on the ear. His head, as a whole, is a masterclass in regards length, profile, width, fill and expression. He has got the smallest of eyes and ears with a textbook placement, giving a superb punishing expression. He also has good neck and shoulders, although to be ultra-critical he is slightly short in upper arm. Super straight front, catlike feet, super cobby body with short back, correct tail set. Moved parallel coming and slightly close going. His cross to bear is the mouth fault which in the light of his many outstanding virtues can be easily overlooked. Expertly shown and presented, in tip-top condition. Easily the best dog on the day. Very happy to award him Best Dog and Best of Breed.

LB

1 Waycott's Waybully Bliss ShCM. Flashy two and a half years old red and white bitch presented with excellent condition. Beautiful make and shape, lovely head with beautiful profile, enough fill and good bite, I would prefer a little more width in the muzzle. She has small ears and eyes which are correctly placed giving a keen expression. Very cobby girl with a shapely body, good shoulders, ok front, however, she is turning her feet out, carrying enough bone for her type, good bend of stifle, cat-like feet but I would prefer a lower tail set. Moving parallel going and slightly close coming. Well handled and shown, enjoyed her day. Best Bitch.
