AUSTRALIAN JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 11

AUSTRALIAN TERRIER

I was most pleased with my main winners and noted some promising exhibits who will surely be pushing for top honours in due course. The Open dog class deserves special mention. A few points for consideration included one or two mouth problems, roundish eyes and some interesting toplines!! For all that I think the breed generally looks in good sorts, I just wish that there had been a few more puppies.

PGD (1)

1 Cabourns Spitewinter Cosmos at Blujon. Showed himself off quite well, but a little erratic on the move at first and could have done with more reach in front. Pleased in eye, ears and neck with well held topline, good set on and neat feet.

LD (1)

1 Tams. Millvalley the Exciseman. Nicely made and balanced on the move. Good head proportions & topknot with eye, ears and neck all plus points. Well ribbed up, level topline, firm loin and strong hindquarters. Needs some coat but plenty to like here.

OD (4)

1 Ahola & Hyvonens SW Ch Jaskarin Peperencino. DCC & BOB. RBIS. Quality and looked a picture in the Breed ring and the Group. Presented and handled to perfection and shows all the characteristics required of this breed. Well made, with plenty in front and behind, balanced head of good proportions and pleased in neck, topline, coat and overall conformation. Plenty of drive and reach on the move. A pleasure to go over.

2 Stoddarts Ch.Am Ch Millvalley Red Rufus. RDCC. Another quality exhibit with balance & style, everything in proportion and pleased in head, neck & shoulder with neat feet and a level topline. Not the flowing movement and presence of 1 but another top class act.

3 Fosketts. Hisnibbs. (imp) completed a quality top three.

MPB (1)

1 Jones Wyeafon Illusion in Red. BP. Little charmer, full of herself and scored in eye & ears with good pigment. Nicely made she has good bone and overall proportions with a good set on and plenty behind. Moved out well from strong hindquarters. Will watch her with interest.

JB (2)

1 Eardley & McCourts Silhill SnapDragon with Sherex. Took time to settle and a little fidgety, but has good head proportions, well placed and used ears, lovely neck and strong in body and loin. Shown in good coat and moved out well once settled.

2 Thompson & Lapthornes Jenina Jade. Pretty young lady who was not too sure of herself and a little short on coat. Pleased in eye, small well carried ears & shapely neck. Held a level topline and moved out steadily once settled.

PGB (3,1)

1 Cooks Wilfnbell Miss Mulberry. Neat & smart with plenty of character and pleased in head and neck with dark eyes and good pigment, just enough bone and well ribbed up. A little short on coat but moved out well both ways.

2 Jacksons Mistabert Nardones Scamp. Not too happy and lacked sparkle. needs a new jacket. Put in a steady round once settled with good drive from rear.

LB (4)

1 Eardleys Silhill Fragola Conpanna. BCC. Well made red with strength all through, quality head and shapely strong neck, level topline and good set on, firm loin and well muscled at rear. Moved out well both ways.

2 Thompson & Lapthorns Jenina Jazamtaz. Good head proportions with eye, ears & neck all plus points. Neat feet, enough bone and steady on the move, though topline detracted somewhat.

3 Jacksons Wilfnbell ms American Pie.

OB (6,2)

1 Stoddarts Ch Millvalley Red Ruby. RBCC. Quality here, nicely turned out and well made with balanced head and scored eye, ears and neck. Coat nicely through and showing a level topline and good set on. Moved well fore and aft but lost her sparkle somewhat in the challenge.

2 McCourts Silhill Glamour Puss. Well presented and of good substance this red has a pleasing head and topknot with ears, neck and topline all plus points. Moved out well going away.

3 Skeltons Brimartz Catch Me If You Can.
