AUSTRALIAN JUDGE CRUFTS 22
A small entry by comparison of previous years however I am pleased to say that there was enough quality to fullfill the high honours, I would like to thank the exhibitors for their entry & allowing me to pass judgement on their Aussies. It was a great pity that we had to wait until 4.15 until judging could commence, when some of the rings had delayed judging times in the morning.
Veteran D
1st, Willmetts CH WILFNBELL MIDNIGHT COWBOY, a champion red dog, with all the breed essentials, he needs no further comment from me, put on a good performance.
Puppy D
1st, Jones WYEAFON ETERNAL FLAME, a most impressive & exciting red dog, almost 12mths, very confident in attitude, typical outline, good bone, liked his head with strong muzzle & well placed ears giving the desired expression, well made in body with a good spring of rib & correct topline, good tailset, shapely quarters, in full harsh coat that was well presented, moved with drive, front movement just needs to firm up, showed very well, please to award him RCC & Best Puppy, on todays form should surely make the upper house.
Post Grad D
1st, Blagden & Mcintosh's MILLVALLEY BLUE SURPRISE, unfortunately this blue & tan dog was rather unsettled, his head has the desired flat skull & strong muzzle, typical coat with good colour, his movement is better in profile, pity his doesn't settle to the job in hand.
Open D
1st, Nottingham & Dunbar's CH RUAROKATIRO BORN TO RUN, very smart red dog that appeals for excellent breed type, super outline & balance, masculine head, dark eye, strong muzzle & well placed ears giving a keen expression, fair reach of neck, well laid shoulders, good spring of rib, correct topline, strong muscled quarters, presented in excellent harsh coat & condition, moved freely & with purpose, I have previously award a RCC when a puppy at the LKA, so pleased he has fullfilled his potential, handled to perfection CC & Best of Breed.
Puppy B
1st, Stoddart, Skelton, Skelton & Skelton's MILLVALLEY MISS MUFFET, an appealling young red bitch, her head is typically proportioned, pleasing in body & outline, obviously needs to mature, moved freely when settled, just needs to gain experience.
2nd, Ward's WILFNBELL WONDER WOMAN, a femine blue & tan, nice in outline, preferred head of 1st, good topline, moved with drive.
Limit B
1st, Tyrrell, Foskett & Freer's RUAROKATIRO RED ROISIN, another red with typical classy outline, liked her head & expression, good spring of rib, correct topline & tailset, shapely quarters, presented in good form, showed very well, moved freely & with drive which won her the RCC
Open B
1st, Jones WYEAFON PRIVATE ILLUSION, very much liked the make & shape of this blue & tan bitch, although to be picky could be slightly better colour however she has the desired head & expression, good reach of neck with well made body, shapely quarters, moved with drive, handled & showed well BCC.
2nd, Stoddart's CH MILLVALLEY CLASSICAL RED, a quality one with all the breed essentials, typical feminine head, pleasing in make & shape, good coat, moved with purpose, not the showmanship of those placed above.
3rd, Cawdwell-Owen's MILLVALLEY TRUE BLUE, a smart well proportioned blue & tan, lots to like, good in make & shape, pleasing head & expression, moved freely, looking a touch bored with todays proceedings, though not surprised as it was very late in the day, one that can never be over looked.
